The same Jazbaa and Sarbajit also had Irfan Khan, Shabana Azmi, Randeep Hooda and Richa chadda, all acted very well. While Aish was not just bad, she was terrible. Basically Aish is a very limited actor, while those movies were not good movies but they had roles which put Aish in the main seat. Comparing them to SOTY is not fair because SOTY Alia had a flower pot role. It was not a performance oriented movie, while both Jaazba and Sarbajit were. Just imagine a Vidya or Tabu in the same roles, would they have screeched their way or acted so one facedly during serious scenes?? No.

People have problem with Alia walking away with all accolades in Highway, what about Randeep Hooda getting totally sidelined due to focus being more on Aish during Sarbajit. Alia ki galti galti, Aish ki galti dusro ki galti, yeh kaha hai insaf hai.

^She actually did receive favorable reviews for Sarbjit and mixed ones for Jazbaa. Yes, her voice is an issue during the screeching scenes, but that apart she's quite good in other scenes. If you read reviews, there were those that also pointed out that Irrfan, Shabana were sleepwalking through their roles too.

And Sarbjit was always about the sister's struggle to get her brother out. The director gave interviews before and after the shooting took place

Why NO PROTEST about KJo launching Ananya Pandey?
Why so much anger against Suhana getting just a magazine cover? Tell me that...

Anyway every regular parent who pays for their kid's education, helps them set up a business doesnt fall under nepotism, because they are not depriving other kids of same opportunities
Even BW dads/moms spending their own money to launch their kids are in same category as parents they will support kids career...but if they deliberately sabotage outsider's careers, if they pounce on every good role, every good script so outsiders dont get it...then that is WRONG...what KJo is doing is WRONG on these counts, hes using his enormous clout to prop up Alia and make her look like Meryl Streep, which she is not.

For example I would have loved to see Ileana or Kriti against Ranbir in Brahmastra but will now have to tolerate Alia for the sake of RK/ Ayan

The problem is they start off with just launching them but then they get too involved and indirectly start sabotaging other people's careers...Starting from taking over the magazine covers to getting every best talk show out there to finally getting exclusive releases while the more qualified ones just keep waiting in the sidelines for so much as even a small side role...

But I also agree that being a parent, you cannot not ask them to take care of their child...Its the most natural thing any parent would do...So yeah, at the end of the day the debate is perhaps pointless in that sense! However, the more people talk about it the more the star kids start working harder and eventually justify their presence in the industry! Hopefully!

And I agree about Brahmastra...Ileana, Kriti, Kirti , Yami,Bhumi...the options were limitless...why Alia?

I really felt this generation has lost out a lot on Illeana and Yami. These two girls were prettier then Alia and very talented. Just compare their debuts to Alia's. We are missing out on many all rounders due to the nepotism done by KJO.

Well to be fair she's not the only one who's unfairly judged like this, but you're right. Bias will always be strong if we have a preconceived notion about someone (I'm biased too but I try to look at facts and be as objective as possible)

As far as I remember she got nominated for Sarbjit at Filmfare and other awards ceremonies, and won a few awards too. No one would do that for an average film that had no merit - for example she wasn't nominated for Jazbaa, but was for Sarbjit. But the fact that some would look at both films in the same vein and brush them aside is disappointing. Anyhow.

Aish was never the kinds to take a dig at a fellow actress ala Alia. However, her after years even mentioning Salman in an IV, or talking about how she was the first choice of SLB etc somehow makes me think she is desperate for work or making it to headlines. I mean Aish has been very dignified about various things in the past, that even such trivial things look very dubious.
Nothing to deny what she is saying, but the fact is that Alia has proved herself and the audience lovers here.

I love Aish, but she has miserably failed in her second phase, EXCEPT she was the best thing about ADHM, and I really thought this phase would be the one where she will prove her mettle

and Aish should be proud of her achievements in the past, because while Alia is somebody's pet, Aish had all the top directors going nuts for her/ top HW actors wanting to work with her in her haydays, just by virtue of her flawless beauty too

Yeah Alia is making good use of the opportunities she is getting unlike Ash who destroys good scripts like Jazba and Sarbjit with her over the top annoying acting. May be it's indirect dig at Abhishek too who inspite of dozens of opportunities failed to capitalize on them.

Aish truly fits the phrase Done and Dusted

An I can tell you dustiest part 😆

The lies these people tell and fool the common people ...

I did some research after reading your comment and agree wholeheartedly that Sikka is nothing but a liar. In 2008 to Hindu and DNA he said Sehmat was dead. And 10 years later he says she died this year in April. There is no info on the net about such a spy except what Sikka las said. In one interview he says she sent a message 'K' when he asked her if she was ok with Alia playing her and in another she says she was silent and silence indicated wholehearted acceptance
In one interview he says Sehmat visited the set but stood outside and didn't tell anyone she was there so Alia and others missed seeing her. In another he says he knew and texted Alia but did not tell her it was to meet Sehmat ( this after Alia had begged him many times to allow her to meet Sehmat) and so Alia went away because it was raining and so she did not meet her.
He is a liar and has made up this whole story and is milking the whole movie release for publicity and all news papers are lapping it up!!!!!
