Madhuri - Her dance looked much nicer on big screen. I didn't like it when I saw it on YouTube. She didn't have much to say though. The scene between her and Sanjay Dutt got everyone excited until it wasn't. It was literally 2 minutes. Unless they really reduced Madhuri's role, I don't know why Sridevi would accept a role like this. Begam Bahaar had 1 good scene with Alia which I liked.

Aditya - I liked Aditya out of the 4 leads. It fact, I don't think I could call Sonakshi a lead. Her role was more of an extended cameo but you feel for her character and she was good. Both Sonakshi and Aditya were decent in what they were given. They looked very good together. Oh by the way, Satya and Roop apparently know each other since they were kids and I'm over here like from which angle does Sonakshi and Alia look the same or close in age? They are literally trying to portray Alia as mature but she looks like a kid in her moms clothes and heels.

Varun - Majority of the film revolved around Zafar and his revenge on his father, Balraj (Sanjay Dutt) and Dev. Yet, I don't think he brought anything new to the table. His kohl eyes looked very beautiful onscreen. I got so bored that I was finding ways to keep myself distracted. His drawn abs and the bull fight. NO COMMENT. Imagine seeing that on big screen HD. LMAO.

Alia - As I said before, I am bored of her. First of all, Alia's role gave me Paro meets Mastani vibes except 10 times worse. These type of roles are not her forte because Alia uses the same 4 expressions in all her movies with different accents. Spoiler: * she fell in love with Zafar while she was married to Dev and Zafar was pretending to love her cuz revenge and shit but actually falls for her* .. So cliche. Who wrote this shit?

The sets looked too 'perfect'. Not in a good way. They seemed like something out of Disney. Not even Bhansali. Like atleast Bhansali's sets look regal even though they are grand and larger than life. This actually looked like someone made a set and actors trying to act.

Overall, super cliche and the film had absolutely no motive. There was extra martital affair, sacrificing for friend and marrying her husband, illegitimate child Zafar, revenge, Dev and Zafar fighting over Roop, love story, partition... Like WTH..WAYY TOO MUCH was going on. Kunal Khemu was also there. He is the only one I liked throughout the film.

Dehli Crimes: I think the episodes got quite repetitive as they went on.But, in the beginning, I got chills when the girl was explaining her rape. I felt disgusted and this was just visual portrayal. I can't imagine. My mom calls me a hundred times more after watching it with me. If you're a mother of a daughter, it might hit a nerve.
Badhaai Ho: I finally watched this. I think this film entirely belonged to Neena Gupta, Gajraj Rao, Surekha Sekhri. Surekha Sekhri was hilarious. I actually cried at the scene where she defended Neena. Sanya didn't have much of a part. Ayushman was literally just trying to get over the embarrassment of this mom being pregnant for almost the entire film except the last 20 minutes when he accepts it.

I finally watched Gully boy yesterday and damn I wasn't disappointed. Ranveer was terrific : I admit I wasn't sold by his Khaleeji performance but he completely wowed me with this one. Alia completely stole the show, she literally lit the screen whenever she had a scene : I wish we saw more of her. Say what you want about her, but she is talented and is here to last. Though the story wasn't particularly unique but I love how Zoya portrayed Murad's struggle and how we didn't get to see him achieve money and fame but rather the love and respect of his own.
I hope we will get to see more of Ranveer and Alia : these two certainly don't lack chemistry.

Do you think we will get a sequel ?

Chilling Adventures of Sabrina Pt 2
Part two opens up at a languid pace. It meanders and takes time to develop. It picks up pace in the latter half with a really dark turn of events.

Kiernan Shipka is a fine performer. After having watched Mad Men it is so exciting to see her grow from little Sally Draper to the satanic Sabrina Spellman. Miranda Otto is the bomb. Zelda is so different from Eowyn.

MADHURA RAJA -- My Review

When Vysakh announced the return of Raja you already know what to expect from the film. So it is more about whether he fulfilled your expectations with regard to a festive commercial potboiler that entertains you. Since I was not expecting an Adoor or Shaji N Karun movie (which unfortunately looks like the case with many reviewers here) I can tell you that I was entertained and that is the only thing I care with movies like these.

Coming to the story, nothing great in it but Vysakh saves the day whenever UK's script comes to a standstill. Vysakh is Mollywood's answer to Rohit Shetty who is another one who can keep the audience engaged even with a wafer thin plot with some well crafted sequences. Some key supporting characters from Pokkiri Raja reprises their roles (Nedumudi Venu, Vijayaraghavan, Salim Kumar...). Loved the Lucifer mention when Salim Kumar asks Nedumudi about Prithviraj's character. Mammootty gets a grand entry as expected and the build up to his entry for the first 20-25 minutes was pretty good. The (bad) English speaking trait of Raja is utilized here as well and some of them were really funny. Salim Kumar has a meaty role and it is always a pleasure to see when he is in full flow. Some of his wits are downright 'chali' ( @pulijose please note ) but overall he was excellent.

Coming to performances, like in Pulimurugan Vysakh has handed over the antagonist role to Jagapathi Babu. I would have liked to see someone else (maybe a Samuthirakani or Prakash Raj...) in that role. I am not saying Jagapathi Babu was bad but he looked the same old Daddy Girija from Pulimurugan be it his expressions and mannerisms. Anusree succeeded in keeping the constipated look throughout the movie which was kinda annoying at times. Jai shines as Raja's second in command, while others like Nedumudi Venu, Vijayaraghavan, Shamna Kasim...were good doing what was expected from them. Sunny Leone sizzles in an item number in the 2nf half.

Now to the pillar that holds the film together, Mammootty...what to say!! Even at this age his energy levels were insane. From the mass entry to the broken English wits to the mass dialogues to the action scenes...he just rocked. Special thanks to Peter Hein for choreographing stunt sequences that suits the man. Shaji Kumar's visuals are top class as is the BGM by Gopi Sunder. The special effects used during the sequence of the hunting dogs that kills the human beings were excellent.

Vysakh has delivered what he promised and I was not at all disappointed with the movie. A 3rd Raja movie is in the pipeline based on the closing credits.

Double strong alla...triple strong!!!

My rating : 3.25 / 5.00

First of All, Take a bow Kangana! . No one from her contemporaries can play Raani Laxmibai the way she did !! 👏
Great job Kangana !!! The way she walked talked...amazing...after watching Raani Laxmibai I realized that sadly DP could never bring that aura/act as Raani Padmavati or Mastani or Leela...SLB are you reading ?
And how gorgeous Kangana looked...she did bring Raani Laxmibai character to life...
Costumes were great as well.

Movie was indeed well made, I felt last few mins could have been cut down...but other than that great watch...👍🏼

Jab Harry Met Sejal
Why the heck is this movie so trashed? It's not even half as bad as people make it out to be. Okay the ring thing is a bit far-fetched but it's a pretty cute love story!
Leaves such a warm and fuzzy feeling at the end <3

Here is my review of the movie . The negative reviews are a bit surprising. It is not a masterpiece but it is not that bad to get 1 and 2 star.

Brie Larson's directorial debut is muddled and lackluster. The film has a sweet earnest message at its core. There is a message about growing up, finding one's place in the world, and assuming responsibility without losing one's innocence. Unfortunately, the plot moves at a languid pace. The allegory doesn't register. Kit's selfishness and petulance isn't adequately addressed either.

But the bromance between Samuel L Jackson and Brie Larson, and the sweet chemistry between Kit and Virgil salvage bits of this wreck.

It was #NationalUnicornDay yesterday so I had a lot of fun watching and tweeting about it. There are moments that are relateable and really well done. I could see myself in Kit now and then. But Brie has a long way to go with her direction and in particular the way she portrays her characters.

----------

If not on #NationalUnicornDay I think you need to be high or tripping for this movie

Thank you.
I was thinking of going to watch it because I like Brie.
I think I will give it a miss now and wait for it on cable or something.

Kim's Convenience S3
A painfully underrated sitcom. This Canadian sitcom about a Korean immigrant family in Toronto is heartwarming, family friendly, and bang on. I always love Appa and Umma's antics at how Asian they are. There is a sense of authenticity this show that is more relatable than its American counterparts.

From everyday issues like roommate trouble and marital bickering to more serious issues like misogyny and sexism this season handles it all with effortless and non preachy charm. And of course there is a good sprinkling of the Asian quirks.

Love Death Robots

I was blown away by the series. It deserves all the accolades it has received. Hats off to the imagination and storytelling. Some of the twists and turns were pure thrills. Some of the animation is breathtaking. I preferred the traditional animation styles rather than the hyper-realistic ones.

This Vulture article does a good job of ranking them. Although I would slide "The Dump" to the bottom and "3 Robots" to the Top. https://www.vulture.com/2019/03/love-death-and-robots-netflix-best-worst-episodes.html
