Television actor Dipika Kakar Ibrahim, who is currently away from the public eye due to her ongoing cancer treatment, recently opened up about something that brought her comfort—watching the reboot of Kyunki Saas Bhi Kabhi Bahu Thi.

Dipika, who was diagnosed with stage 2 liver cancer, had surgery a few weeks ago to remove a large tumour. She is currently in recovery and is expected to begin chemotherapy soon. While she has kept a low profile, her husband, Shoaib Ibrahim, has been keeping fans informed through his vlogs. Amid all this, Dipika found a nostalgic escape in the show that shaped Indian television in the early 2000s.

On her Instagram story, she posted a photo of her TV screen as she watched the first episode of Kyunki Saas Bhi Kabhi Bahu Thi 2. The scene featured Tulsi and Savita, two central characters from the original series. Alongside the image, Dipika wrote an emotional note: “They are back! Seems like they never left our lives. Uffff this is so nostalgic. Tab bhi fan thi and aaj bhi fan hun. And loyal viewer of Kyunki... Love them all.”

The actress referred to the original series as something she was fond of even during her younger years. For many viewers like her, the show’s return on Star Plus at 10:30 pm is not just entertainment—it’s a reminder of simpler times. Her caption reflected the deep cultural impact of the show created by Ekta Kapoor. Dipika was last seen as a contestant on Celebrity MasterChef India, but had to exit the show due to her health complications. Since then, she’s been resting and focusing on her recovery.
