Sonam's grandmother died more than after a year of neerja's release... Being a showstopper does not take up a year.. After neerja 's success it did not make sense for her to sit idle waiting for kareena...
Infact i had thought that she would push back veer wedding to focus on better projects... Like you said there is no reason for her to do flower pot roles... But it makes no sense that she got nothing better offered than padmam... She did not get any further benefits from nerrja at all.. Which is really puzzling
Being a showstopper takes up more than a day it needs at least some time of preparation especially since she knows the designers personally and has worn their creations before.
Launching a clothing line takes up some time it's not done at the snap of fingers especially when one sees the way the Kapoor sisters are invested in their clothing line.
She has done other things like being part of events (for her brand endorsement, photoshoots, festivals) , helping her sister handle the pre-production work of VDW...
Last she was busy shooting for 3 movies (Sanju is a cameo but she still spent some time on this movie).
I'm sure she was also discussing movies seeing as in less than 3 months she announced 2 movies and dropped out of one.
Regarding her grand-mother I don't know what she had but even if she died a natural death, it's probable that the family knew the end was near.
I'm surprised people are naive enough to believe actors only limit themselves to doing movies when they have other ventures beside acting which subsides their lifestyle more than acting.
Also, how would it be knew for Sonam not to sign every movies out there just for the sake of it and for the greed of becoming n1. It's obviously not the way she works.
Can you tell me which movies she should have signed the last two years that would have help her forward her career more? I curious to know...
