i can never understand what weng wrong with sonam post Neerja..i was expectating a total career boost and she comes back after 2 years with a supporting role in padman..shocker!

I think the difference between DP's Cocktail and Sonam's Neerja is that Cocktail was soon followed by YJHD, CE, RL which cemented her position as a commercial actress. Which were then followed by Piku and BM. While Sonam didnt do/sign anything post Neerja for a long time. All said and done DP is more suited as a commercial actress. It helped that in 2016 and 2017 there were no actress who could takeover. We had Alia but even she isnt suited for all kinds of roles.

Kangana I agree...Queen and TWMR helped. But what helped more is her media fights whether its against HR or KJo. People pay attention to her. Kareena I think has always been great at keeping herself in the news. Mostly thru her personal life. Once in a while for her films.

She has worked during these two years. Last year she was shooting for three movies (Sanju is a cameo but she shot for it for many days), she successfully launched her clothing line and expanded it (a deal with Amazon as a distributor and the opening physical stores is in the cards), she bought the right of some books and participated in several events, she was the Showstopper for one of the biggest fashion brand out there during the Paris Fashion Week, she was in Cannes as usual and haters will keep on hating even when they feign interest in her work.

Please enlighten me about the movies Sonam could have starred in the last two years? The truth is if an actress doesn't want to be a flower pot then the need to star in a big movie isn't there.

She's presently one of the few A-lister actresses with a line-up excedding 2 confirmed movies which are not flower pot roles.

Also, her role in Padman is no such thing as a supporting role. Were did you see that?

She was suppose to begin shooting for Veere Di Wedding but because of Kareena's pregnancy, it was pushed back.

Then she did go on vacation and had several other activities like the launch of Rheson, her first experience as a showstopper at the Paris fashion and the loss of her grand-mother also affected her.
