We are discussing the downfall of society over a celebrity's health and privacy, when it has occurred with every victim of every phase of life and continues to happen.

When you put it this way you’re making it sound like Celebs aren’t human beings like us. They have money and fame doesn’t make them immortal seeing celebrities deal with something like this is same as the common man dealing with it. Their money and fame doesn’t make the pain of seeing a loved one in critical condition or worse losing loved ones as much painful as you and I going through it. There’s no difference and there shouldn’t be any difference. I do understand what you’re trying to say but it still sounds insensitive.

Saw this desensitisation during Sushant Singh Rajput's demise too. Some people clicking him ... Like actually clicking him in that state and making it viral...

That day, I had to sit and think, have humans surpassed being animals too? Because even animals grieve the loss of one of their specie. Are we so eager to create a 'Sansani' that everything else is okay to do?

Since then some of 'us' are not animals either.

When Princess Diana lay there ,dying, literally breathing her last photographers rushed to click her in that awful state. There was a pic of her in the wreckage , dead or almost dead , with a nipple exposed. There's a flipside to fame and popularity. Your vulnerability and pain are just more content for people to consume. It's the same interest that made them idolise you and put you on a pedestal. There's no place for feelings in voyeurism. Society has always been more or less like this. So , a few years ago somebody in my neighbourhood killed himself. He was impotent. His wife had been threatening to leave him. So many of us had talked to him barely an hour before he did it. My downstair neighbour , who until then only seemed like a nosy b1tch. says in an irritated tone ,hearing the news. " Oh ? Hanged himself ? Eww he must have defecated all over the rope as he struggled. Hehehehe ". She was a mother of two, claiming to have been in her late thirties so maybe 42 . Stood there giggling at the thought of somebody's agony .

Humans were worse than animals before too. back in the ancient and medieval period, worse unspeakable things happened and nobody even dared to protest. or they would be killed too. so it is not some new trend.

today's time is more civilised. but yes desensitization is at its peak due to social media.

Never said celebs aren't human. They are hailed as higher power people all through the world, and in India, it is on another level, esp in the South.

My point being, sensitivity had always taken a back seat when it came to celebs or famous people of all generations, but now in current times, it has gone to the next level. No one is immune to having their sensitive and private moments left alone.

Someone pointed out that about Princess Diana's final moments and rude comments about someone ending their life.

Unfortunately, privacy doesn't exist anywhere anymore. That was my point.

These people aren't fans. They aren't even human being in my opinion. I don't have right words to describe this insensitivity, perhaps this is how lowlife looks like.
