It worked seeing the work she's getting now but she'll have to go a long way before reaching the heel of Alia from where this one is now standing.

Her biggest mistake was refusing Piku. I mean W*F was she thinking? That role could have done wonders for her career but I am also glad it eventually went to Deepika.

She was considered one of the most promising talents in the beginnng, and rather than building on that momentum and doing performance-oriented roles she became too fixated on her image and nonexistent sex appeal. Now she's doing flowerpot roles and competing with the likes of Jacqueline..serves her right.

Infact i had thought that she would push back veer wedding to focus on better projects... Like you said there is no reason for her to do flower pot roles... But it makes no sense that she got nothing better offered than padmam... She did not get any further benefits from nerrja at all.. Which is really puzzling

But honestly, beside Alia, who is getting good work currently ?

And I don't agree : a good role is a good role. It doesn't matter if you play the lead or not.

She is doing Vidhu Vinod next which quite something, and I'm sure the best is yet to come!

I read she turned down Piku to make a movie with Saif which is one of her idol. He dropped out without notice.

She was also always obessed with her body and had sel-image issues. She went as far as claiming that though she was overweight, she wasn't as fat as Sonakshi. She said it 4 years ago I think but I still remember this because I was so shocked by her lack of humily and consideration for a colleague.

Good riddance anyways because she turned out not to be such a great actress anyways.

No one, that's who!

Kjo is signing all decent directors with good scripts. He can even go as far as making a movie from scraps for his protg.

The top actresses are struggling too. Deepika suprisingly only has signed Sapna Didi's movie right now and Kangana has always been in her own zone so she's signing good directors but those are not necessarily helmed by big producers.

Sonam has always said she didn't choose her role according to her screentime but because the role and movie interested her.

The actresses with a line-up excedding 3 movies are currently Alia, Anushka and Sonam.

Bollywood is currently in a slump (maybe because of all those disasters the last few years) but producers and directors are focusing more on offering good roles in big movies to male stars.

Honestly I think Parineeti can come back up in the big league- She just needs that one performance oriented movie with a great script. She had Golmaal Returns although a flowerpot role was a hit nevertheless, which means she can get back to doing the meaty roles. I wish she sticks to that zone. Cause good movies will come to you if you do work and show different shades, not sit at home and crib about your weight. i believe in her 😆

I think we need to drop this whole number 1 thing. An actor/actress is in a marathon not a sprint. If they want to have a career, it is always best not to focus on any numbers...just keep doing work...and make sure to get work...chhota role bada role...lead role supporting role...who cares...as long as you get work you have a career! You never know when that awesome role will come...but for that to happen you have to be actively working and in public's mind!

And most importantly an actor has to reinvent herself as they age. You cannot become stale and boring! You cannot do the same shit all your life. Salman was over a decade ago and then Dabang happened and his life changed! Aamir was never up there in his early days...his movies were hits but not blockbusters...post 2005, it's a whole new Aamir (and this happened 17 years after his debut LOL)! It is though harder for heroines considering the kind of roles and movies that get made...so it is even more important for them not to care too much about numbers!
