Sorry to be rude but this is an extremely ignorant post!!
I'm not going to get into the genetics, DNA, the dominant/recessive chromosomes, the races and science in general but the higher temperature theory is such hogwash, falsified by studies many times.
Firstly, south India is nowhere close to the equator.
Secondly, the average temperature difference between Punjab and TN is a mere 3 degrees.
Thirdly, South Americans who actually live on the equator or close to it like the Colombians, Peruins and the Brazilians have retained their Portuguese, Spanish genes and haven't turned dark.
And I'm not sure where you got Indians are 95% Natives but all DNA tests have confirmed North Indians to be from the same stock or similar to early central Asian tribes.
Lastly, it's not about being proud, it's about knowing where your ancestors came from. The colour of someone's skin doesn't make one attractive.
honestly all of you are are incorrect. Firstly majority of Indians are dark, even most north indians. heck I was in Punjab last year, and I would say 80% of average folks were dark, also look at the pakistani cricket team, except maybe few pathans in the team, all of them are dark and look Indian
The reason for all of this is that Indians north or south are related to each other. Indians get their original dark skin from the vary first africans who came here, this is why ASI (Ancestral south indian) is related to one the of the darkest people in the world (Andaman Islanders), who are still present in the Bay of bengal, google their pics. North Indians, despite having elevated levels of outside ancestry, still are closer to their south indian brothers genetically then to central asians, simply because even north indians/pakistanis, still carry of a lot of ASI blood, even pakistanis show up to 30-40% ASI ancestry in their dna on Harrapa ancestry project, while south indians on average show 50-70% ASI, rest of south indian dna is also from outside. ASI is not present anywhere else outside south asia. This is why all Indians are related to each other, from Kashmir to Kanyakumari
Later I will post link from Harrapa ancestry project, and you will see what I am talking about
We are all one people, and dna proves this, despite people trying to create divide between north and south
