JHMS is doing well in Overseas but poorly in India so Indian Audience is too dumb ??

Could I use that logic for Salaam-E-Ishq which was a hit in Overseas but flopped in India 😆😆

Why would the audience blame the audience?

I've personally never read this anywhere but Indian audience are awesome today and not ignorant anymore. They're showing the middle finger to big stars and directors and lapping up Hindi Medium.

Who (as in which SRK/Anu fan) has blamed Indian audience for their taste after JHMS? Can u share 2-3 links for a few such posts pls? I have seen them only praising overseas collections but not blaming domestic tastes.. 🤔

Check out your BO thread, dikh jaayegi. Willful blindness is a funny thing. There was a DT note posted on the digs on other films and a whole lot of circular discussion on how Indians don't understand a certain style and the general subtle questioning of Indian taste.

2. And who knows that whether given a chance, the same group of people who are shouting on Akki's passport issue but spent their entire lives in other countries, won't accept their citizenship as well ? Who knows if it's voluntarily rejecting other country's citizenship or they are trying hard since years to get it but not able to hold one ?

Hah, I think they would take the citizenship too. But I think this whole patriotism thing that some Indians in India display is also not that genuine IMHO. I think most of them would also take a work visa or green card and immigrate if they were able to. You can't blame them if another country offers them more money or a better job or more freedom for their family. Then the false pride would quickly be forgotten.

The only problem with the Akshay situation is that he took Canadian citizenship and lied about it saying it's honorary when it's not. Canada only has 6-7 honorary citizens and they are all like humanitarians and Nobel Prize winners. Him constantly playing a bhakt for publicity purposes and image is hypocritical. Every celebrity is trashed here from their relationships to their movies to their families to the stupid quotes they give.

It's perfectly appropriate for Akshay to also get criticized. He is not being treated unfairly.

"Its not abt the audience's intelligence but abt perception and judgement.
Overseas audience is more accepting of such romances, while conservative Indian audience was put off by the references to sexuality of the leads.
Indian audience prefers family friendly films which whole family can watch together without getting uncomfortable or embarassed "

The above is funny to you? This is not an assumption of Indian taste? This literally says "Overseas audience is more accepting of such romances.." - This shouldn't be offensive to me? There are plenty of comments similar to this. I don't care with what intention it's claimed. Do not assume Indian taste or "judgment" while determining what went wrong with films. It's easy enough. I should laugh at this as an Indian? And not only this but the continuous derogatory posts on Indian taste and assumption of Indian tastes by non Indians and NRIs should be laughed off by me? You may not find something offensive but absolutely do not assume that I do not reserve the right to be offended. And it's not even one thing. I literally haven't mentioned that this happened the first time, this just keeps happening and by plenty of fandoms and it's really not fun coming on to forums and seeing this shit after every film flops. I am sorry if my loyalty is for my country and not for any star.

Of course they did. They'd just rather defend their star's fans and joke about people daring to be offended about people mocking Indian taste and making assumptions about it. Star-fans get more worked about their less-criticized stars but god forbid, if Indian viewers are frustrated with some of the overt and covert insults of India and Indians by a portion of this forum. As much as they have their freedom to be offensive, I have my freedom to be offended. Also, this policing of ~what I should be offended about~ is not funny to me.

^^ Did you see the JHMS BO thread? Lot of Indian audience vs NRI audience taste battles going on.
