I'm a huge fan of TVF's work, but shame on this dude if this is true! Way to exploit your powerful position and sexually harass woman subordinates. 😡

LOL That article is so sensationalist and written to conform to a narrative 😆😆 Not to mention, the editor couldn't even be bothered to proof-read the headline 😆😆

Here's the real breakdown of the your stats by the Hindu:

The link is here : https://www.thehindu.com/data/the-many-shades-of-rape-cases-in-delhi/article6261042.ece

Out of the sample size of 583 cases, nearly 48% are false accusations by the woman or the family of the woman.

  • 174 were filed by parents against the boy because of elopement.
  • 109 were cases of breach of promise to marry
  • 123 victims did not show up or turned hostile. (Assume for the sake of argument that all 100% cases are genuine)
  • 111 were cases of alleged rape by acquaintance
  • 12 were cases of rape by strangers
  • 30 by immediate family members
  • 24: Other

Ergo, what you're stating is out of context, not backed by any real facts. By far and large, people who are taking advantage of an antiquated law are the parents of women because of elopment. So do quit mudslinging.

OMG read her entire account. and TVF's response. f**k these guys! I believe this girl, it legit sounds like instances that happened. The ASSHOLES! I am definitely NOT watching any more of TVF stuff. This is beyond disgusting. And instead of saying we will look into this issue, they are threatening to legally pursue her and by all means do if you think you are right, but since it looks like by the number of women coming forward that you all are wrong and just trying to save your asses, anurabh being your main boss pervert. UGH! Why couldn't they be ethical? Why resort to this disgusting behavior? What use is all that education if you don't have one drop of empathy or the ability to respect women as human beings. 😡😭

This whole mentality about "let's start by disbelieving everything that is being said by various vengeful women who are jealous!11!!! of man's success" is sickening and reeks of rape culture. I get that people want to extend the benefit of the doubt to whatshisface but extend the same courtesy to the women who are speaking out.

extend the same courtesy to both parties when one really dont know what is true. the point is lets not be the jury and executioner and let there be proper investigations before maligning any one. if the guy is guilty then he should be severely punished . who are we to decide who is wrong and who is right? first of all someone needs to file an FIR or else how will the police respond to it ? but before anything jumping into conclusion and the social media shaming is dangerous.

stop using such words. all i did was had an opinion different to yours. i posted that source not to discredit all harassment cases. my point was to show the trend of rise of false accusations. the report i posted was dcw survey report which is different than THE hindu report . and about proof readings DCW is a stautory body. read their annual report if you want to and plz here we are trying to discuss about the concept of "innocent till proven guilty". i still dont know who these people are 😆 and all i want to say is let there be proper proceedings before defaming someone.

This guy- more than 8 women have come out. Most of them are well-placed professionals who have put their integrity and reputation on the line. But we will not buy their word but will ask for "proof" because their account is not conclusive , like to record advances at work , should mean we need to walk with tape-recorders, video-recorders etc , always". Oh, but the guy should sue all these women for defamation because it is always a big conspiracy.

This. and some a**ho*e on this thread has the temerity to say no job is worth it so stay at home. W*F its 2017 not 1417 for chrissake!

I'm hardly commentating on your opinion; rather, I'm poking holes in the "stats" with which you're backing it up.

@bold: I'm hard-pressed to think those two aren't related - with the linked article that was so sensationalist and wrong. Especially because Indian rape laws allow a person to be charged with rape if they have sexual relations with a person and refuse to marry that person later on. Those count as "false" accusations. Indian law will also let parents/relatives of consenting adults who have sex file rape charges. Those count as "false" accusations. Parents of jilted fiancees can also file rape charges. Those count as "false" accusations.

These cases are obviously not 'false accusations' as we all understand it; yet, you're trying to portray them as such and concluding that women are taking advantage of old rape laws. I take an issue with that. I'm not denying that some do but not to the extent that you're portraying and there's no evidence that this has been increasing beyond sensationalist media. FWIW, the Hindu report was a sub-sect of the same data pool; I'd extrapolate that the breakdown of the "53.2%" is quite similar.

Beyond this, I'm out. Have a good one.

exactly thats what i wanted to say. i was trying to explain what makes people doubt such cases prima facie. and there was some post about how false accusations are very rare in this thread and i disagree with that. the dcw report is the only survey report present so obviously i had to post that. and its very sad that few cases actually dilutes the seriousness of the whole issue and makes people doubt every genuine accusations. and lets agree to disagree about the extent of false accusations . i believe in the concept of jurisprudence that 100 culprit may go free but no innocent should be punished, so lets hope that justice prevails in this case.

good to talk to you. good luck ! cheers ! 😊

Not only incredibly stupid but also sounds arrogant like you dont think the allegations are serious enough and can act all flippant about it
