53.2 per cent rape cases filed between April 2013-July 2014 false, says DCW.( https://indiatoday.intoday.in/story/false-rape-cases-in-delhi-delhi-commission-of-women/1/409320.html)
The link is here : https://www.thehindu.com/data/the-many-shades-of-rape-cases-in-delhi/article6261042.ece
Out of the sample size of 583 cases, nearly 48% are false accusations by the woman or the family of the woman.
Ergo, what you're stating is out of context, not backed by any real facts. By far and large, people who are taking advantage of an antiquated law are the parents of women because of elopment. So do quit mudslinging.

It boggles the mind how some think being accused of sexual harrasment is worse than being sexually harassed.
This whole mentality about "let's start by disbelieving everything that is being said by various vengeful women who are jealous!11!!! of man's success" is sickening and reeks of rape culture. I get that people want to extend the benefit of the doubt to whatshisface but extend the same courtesy to the women who are speaking out.

LOL That article is so sensationalist and written to conform to a narrative 😆😆 Not to mention, the editor couldn't even be bothered to proof-read the headline 😆😆
Here's the real breakdown of the your stats by the Hindu:The link is here : https://www.thehindu.com/data/the-many-shades-of-rape-cases-in-delhi/article6261042.ece
Out of the sample size of 583 cases, nearly 48% are false accusations by the woman or the family of the woman.
- 174 were filed by parents against the boy because of elopement.
- 109 were cases of breach of promise to marry
- 123 victims did not show up or turned hostile. (Assume for the sake of argument that all 100% cases are genuine)
- 111 were cases of alleged rape by acquaintance
- 12 were cases of rape by strangers
- 30 by immediate family members
- 24: Other
Ergo, what you're stating is out of context, not backed by any real facts. By far and large, people who are taking advantage of an antiquated law are the parents of women because of elopment. So do quit mudslinging.

Trump became President. There was a video out for his offence.
Affleck won his Oscar. Reputed, professional colleagues accusing and he has tried to buy their silence. But.Tejpal. Video, yet apologists were out .Manik Katyal- 36 women came out with text messages and what not. But psst.Bill Cosby.Heck a , Subhash Kapoor can get away with all this. This guy- more than 8 women have come out. Most of them are well-placed professionals who have put their integrity and reputation on the line. But we will not buy their word but will ask for "proof" because their account is not conclusive , like to record advances at work , should mean we need to walk with tape-recorders, video-recorders etc , always". Oh, but the guy should sue all these women for defamation because it is always a big conspiracy.
stop using such words. all i did was had an opinion different to yours. i posted that source not to discredit all harassment cases. my point was to show the trend of rise of false accusations. the report i posted was dcw survey report which is different than THE hindu report . and about proof readings DCW is a stautory body. read their annual report if you want to and plz here we are trying to discuss about the concept of "innocent till proven guilty". i still dont know who these people are 😆 and all i want to say is let there be proper proceedings before defaming someone.

I'm hardly commentating on your opinion; rather, I'm poking holes in the "stats" with which you're backing it up.@bold: I'm hard-pressed to think those two aren't related - with the linked article that was so sensationalist and wrong. Especially because Indian rape laws allow a person to be charged with rape if they have sexual relations with a person and refuse to marry that person later on. Those count as "false" accusations. Indian law will also let parents/relatives of consenting adults who have sex file rape charges. Those count as "false" accusations. Parents of jilted fiancees can also file rape charges. Those count as "false" accusations. These cases are obviously not 'false accusations' as we all understand it; yet, you're trying to portray them as such and concluding that women are taking advantage of old rape laws. I take an issue with that. I'm not denying that some do but not to the extent that you're portraying and there's no evidence that this has been increasing beyond sensationalist media. FWIW, the Hindu report was a sub-sect of the same data pool; I'd extrapolate that the breakdown of the "53.2%" is quite similar.Beyond this, I'm out. Have a good one.
