That one was fake. That person later posted s/he had posted it to prove how easily people can be fooled.

And after that... the outrage on social media stopped.

That is quite dumb.

Yes, people are swayed easily by social media. Trial by social media sometimes supersedes the judicial system. People are easily influenced. Baloney spreads faster than facts.

At the same time when it comes to sexual harassment, social media often serves as a safe alternative means of self expression. Women often quit jobs or get railroaded out because fighting the harassment is tedious, mentally and physically exhausting. Social media becomes the only recourse to warn other women.

As it is women's claims are not taken seriously. To make the extra effort to dilute the effect of women's claims and prove how unreliable social media is - that is counterproductive.

Want to prove that social media can be manipulative? DO NOT ENGAGE IN MANIPULATION OF YOUR OWN. Instead perhaps try some investigative research into other social media claims and prove/disprove it. This way you sift and winnow the facts from the lies. Not add to the deception.
