This is my part of story. Call it molestation or touching someone inappropriately.
I am not so unfortunate like other girls that I had to work with him. I know him otherwise.
I had hired a Casting Studio two years ago. I was hiring and TVF was leaving that rented space. Thats how I came to know about this Arunabh guy exists. He was never my friend. He was just someone I know, Hi - Bye How are you were the limited words we must have exchanged.
The space I rented has a huge ground, so Arunabh had shifted to the bungalow bang opposite to mine fews yards away. One day I was over a phone call and walking outside the studio, Arunabh spotted me and called me. I looked at him, just smiled, and he gestured me to walk to him. I didnt want to, but I did walk to him reluctantly. Rarely educated men address you that way, but since I knew him so I let it be.
Out of now where he started telling me he just came back from some place in Ratnagiri, and he bought mangoes. He asked me if I liked mangoes, while his mouth spoke those words, his hands slided on my back, from neck to waist. Im not someone who gets scared easily, I wasnt scared, I just knew his intentions. I moved away from him, stared and said a NO and walked off. Since that day he never met his eyes with me. I should have punched him, but I ignored.
All my friends knew about it, and I made sure whoever took his name knew his story. Now I am just making sure that everyone knows this story.

Shy , it wasn't for you but for all the tweets and sns noise.Yes, "plenty of Justice" has been served by the COurt for these cases. Refer to the cases of the men I mentioned earlier especially Manik Katyal there, what "justice"was served. And what happens if the woman is not at a well-placed position and there is a power imbalance?

Well if there is no legal ramifications ,the whole thing would be relegated to "he said ,she said" , the best would happen is arunabh would go in background for 5-6 months and people would forget about the whole thing by then.

Men in positions do try to take advantages. Its happened in universities, offices and of course glamour is a breeding ground. Good that the woman has shared the experience. More women who have suffered should share their experience. At least public shaming will dent his reputation some bits. Also wish women take strong actions against such perverts. This requires amongst those women who were targeted. They can take help of NGO's, media and some women lawyers help.
Just for info, who is this Arunabh and what is TVF?

Nidhi Bisht posted a much more sane version now. Not as ridiculous and threatening as the TVF official response.

It boggles the mind how some think being accused of sexual harrasment is worse than being sexually harassed.

This whole mentality about "let's start by disbelieving everything that is being said by various vengeful women who are jealous!11!!! of man's success" is sickening and reeks of rape culture. I get that people want to extend the benefit of the doubt to whatshisface but extend the same courtesy to the women who are speaking out.

exactly. and to think of what media did to the guys and what they had to suffer/still suffering is pathetic. these kind of cases actually make people doubt every allegation, afterall how do one differentiate between real or fake allegations?

but looking at the number of people sharing same kind of experiences , it does look genuine. then again who knows ?

i remember the rohtak case . but should one case be deciding our future responses to all sexual harassment cases ? We don't see one case of sexual abuse and assume that all men are abusive, do we? Then why do we see one case of false accusation and assume that all women make false accusations?

And in this case, there are multiple accounts - from straight out physical touching to inappropriate advances.

how does one "prove" sexual harassment ? Just how ? It will ALWAYS be a case of he says - she says. but in this case it is He says - they all say.

This is not addressed to you in particular, but everyone who is saying omg! they are out to get him because he is oh! so successful. defamation. defamation.

There will be some women who misuse laws and the man is innocent. But if you take overall, then the true cases of sexual harassment/abuse will always outweigh false cases. Why always extend the benefit of doubt to the man and not the woman ?

read my post again, i did say that seeing so many women sharing same thing the case looks genuine . but my point was about why do people dont believe such allegations prima facie. about proofs in my earlier post i said the same thing that its difficult to produce proofs for both the victim or the accused thats why people take unfair advantage of law.

presenting you the statistics of false allegations.

53.2 per cent rape cases filed between April 2013-July 2014 false, says DCW.( http://indiatoday.intoday.in/story/false-rape-cases-in-delhi-delhi-commission-of-women/1/409320.html)

its painful to think how few cases makes people doubt every case. thorough investigation is mandatory . my point was let the court decide who is right or who is wrong. all people can/should do is demand a independent investigation committee for proper investigation. but before that defaming someone(already done) is a disaster. having said that tvf's response to the case was insensitive. how can you be so confident of the guy's innocence and threaten the anonymous woman with a defamation suite.
