^nah, that's what you're doing by trying to invalidate his actions. His actions say something. You just want to pretend that they don't.

Nobody cares if he's an Indian citizen or not. Certainly not me. But he's a liar and hypocrite trying to prove that he's such a good patriotic Indian when he's not even Indian anymore. It's the way to appeal to the current bhakti atmosphere in India where any criticism is attacked and jingoism is praised as patriotism.

He is only desi by ethnicity now. He is Canadian by nationality.

But keep on looking into his heart and what a good Indian he is because he pays taxes and gives some money to farmers. (oh heck most charity is done by foreign NGOs.. I guess their hearts are more patriotic than Akshay's)

Everything that you stated, show me even one post from me proving that...Its you who is going on calling him liar, fake and what not...All I am saying is, as long as he doesn't prove otherwise and is behaving like a respectful, law abiding person, why should anybody have a problem with him?

Anyways good luck name calling him or anyone that you don't like...I am done debating on this...Toodles!

^There you go assuming again. I like Akshay and I like most his recent movies too. 😆

Yes, he's a faker when it comes to his patriotic image but even then I don't think he's the one to blame in particular. I think it's a big chunk of the population who have created this atmosphere where celebrities HAVE to show off like patriots because they get attacked if they don't.

And yes there is definitely a double standard between what some actors can get away with and what some can't. Everyone here knows what it is.

Other than that, I don't care what anyone should do or not. I was just pointing out what the current scenario is.

I don't understand why people say Akki is patriotic. People give up citizenship of a country and take another one as they work in the other country or their children might have a better future in an advanced country or they are being persecuted. Akki works in India. It's obvious his kids will be BW stars too. He faces no persecution in India. So what really compelled him to give up his Indian citizenship. And even if he did with his newly awakened desh bhakti and army love why doesn't he get Indian citizenship back again?

not replying to you ab, the next essay starting from next para😛.

How I see this thing as a whole:

Akki got Canadian citizenship because he wants comfort and luxuries of first world when he will retire. Maybe he was honoured with an option of choosing Canadian passport but for which he has to dismiss his Indian citizenship. So yes he did gave up his Indian passport for Canadian passport. See this is all what I think based on given reports and Akki's interviews. How much truth it is, I dunno as unless Akki himself tells this.
The above can be intercepted in two ways:
(i) It did not took Akki much to give up India for a developed nation. So all the support for the soldiers and farmers is a PR activity to mask his true identity which is an opportunistic, selfish, manipulative, shrewd, cunning and smart business who gave up his country for greener pastures. He is basically taking advantage of the new found patriotism in social media, and doing his prachar. Now this is a practical and cynical way of looking at things.

(ii) Now there is an Indian(sentimental) way to look into this. Even if Akki's charity and actions are show off and PR activity, atleast it is helping people, while also encouraging people to do good things like helping the unfortunate, needy.

ultimately this all depends on your point of view.
