Lol Indians are living in a peaceful way, we have got a good pm after a long time, who hasn't promoted any religious hatred of which he was accused of! Even when these stars spoke about intolerance in the country, there was no such thing! We still try to live peacefully and have respect for each others cultures..And believe me there are some places in India where there is actually religious intolerance, but it has never been covered by the media.. But that's ok we are quite tolerant

No, being a citizen doesn't automatically make you a bhakt but giving up citizenship does say that you value another country more.

well he is living in India, earning here, one of the highest tax payers, does contribution to farmers, and what more.. I would certainly call him a better desh bhakt than Nri's and even many Indians too.. Heck he is a better desh bhakt than me! Go akki!

No, being a citizen doesn't automatically make you a bhakt but giving up citizenship does say that you value another country more so then you can't boast about how patriotic you are.

He's just an average dude who preferred to be a citizen of a Western country like most people who have the ability. There's nothing wrong with that. But it's not a patriot who does that.

The only thing that can be relied on are actual actions and in terms of actual actions Akshay dumped his Indian nationality and preferred to be a Canadian citizen. He can't even vote in the country that he boasts about loving.

Paying taxes or working doesn't mean jack. That's normal stuff everyone has to do. NRIs usually pay Indian taxes too. In most cases, NRIs do a lot more charity in India too because they have more money especially due to the currency conversion. That doesn't make them amazing patriots.

The most important part of citizenship is voting and participating in the democracy so you can have your say in it. Akshay dumped it but still projects the desh bhakti image that so many of these "we are so tolerant!!" bhakt brigade wants to see.
