The teaser of Ramayana, starring Ranbir Kapoor, has received clearance from the Central Board of Film Certification ahead of its scheduled release on April 2. The development comes as anticipation builds around Nitesh Tiwari’s ambitious mythological project, which has remained under close watch for months.

According to reports, the teaser, titled ‘Rama’, has a runtime of 2 minutes and 38 seconds. The certification was granted on March 30, clearing the way for its official unveiling. The duration suggests that viewers will get a detailed first glimpse into the film’s scale, visual design and narrative tone, rather than just a brief announcement clip.

The makers had earlier confirmed April 2 as the release date for the teaser. Sharing the update, the team stated, “Shubh Rama Navami. This is a story that belongs to all of us, and every step we take has been guided by a deep sense of responsibility, devotion, and care to bring our very own Ramayana to life in its truest spirit and scale with utmost sincerity." The note underlined the intent to treat the source material with sensitivity.

They further added, “We look forward to sharing the next glimpse, ‘Rama,’ on April 2, on the auspicious occasion of Hanuman Jayanti, as we begin to showcase all these years of our effort through a grand world reveal with fans, celebrating this moment across the world." The statement points to a large scale rollout planned around the teaser launch.

The film draws from the ancient Indian epic that continues to hold cultural and spiritual significance across generations. Positioned as a large scale cinematic retelling, the project has already generated attention with its early promotional assets and international showcase.

Alongside Ranbir Kapoor as Lord Ram, the cast includes Sai Pallavi as Sita and Yash as Ravana. Sunny Deol will be seen as Hanuman, while Ravi Dubey plays Lakshman. Other actors include Kajal Aggarwal, Rakul Preet Singh, Arun Govil and Kunal Kapoor in key roles.

The first part of the film is expected to release during Diwali, with the second instalment planned for Diwali 2027.
