I do agree. He needs to work on his emotional scenes. I think its such an insult to be compared to Govinda. Unfortunately what he is known for is for his comedy which is a little unfair. I watched some of his films good actor bt just not lead hero material. I think that VD can go beyond that he just needs to stop thinking he is a teenager.

If there are consistently good performances by an actor, it is well noted by big directors...then you know the guy has reached next level...

At present, best movies and directors go to khans, then hrithik, then Ranbir, then Ranveer... after this, there are bunch of actors doing random different movies... you have to see which directors are working with Sid as a solo actor.

Sid has limited expressions which has hampered his success. He has improved but male audience hasnt liked him so far...
Fawad won't reach the top because it's India. Arjun Kapoor has a physique problem which doesnt suit him to play every role and will become hit and miss in coming years.

My best bets are still Ranveer, Ranbir and Varun..

Varun has so far clicked with masses but his luck at boxoffice will run out too and then we have to see how he takes it...his father knows what clicks with masses...he singlehandedly created Govinda the superstar...

watched most of Veer's film loved him. For some reason I cnt watch a full movie of ranbir I just find him boring to watch onscreen. Ranbir was lucky he had no competition when he started and was able to create his brand. The current generation has alot more actors to compete with and they all clicking at the moment. I think VDs bad patch started with dilwali. Bt I think Dishoom will be a hit. And Fawad I think that hoepfully indian cinema is above pakistani, indian nonsense if they can accept Kat they can darn well accept Fawad lol

Sid was decent but not great. Fawad was so damn good in the entire film that it's hard to take Sid seriously plus sud's character was less convincing and one dimensional. I hope Sid improves, he can do it if he tries.

I'm surprised at the feedback both stars have been getting. Sid is a far better actor than Varun. The latter might be enjoying a better fate at the box office, but in terms of acting and versatility so far Sid has impressed me the most.

Granted Varun was WAY better in the debut film SOTY, he hasn't really been able to grow as an actor. I found him mediocre in Badlapur. He overacted a lot in Humpty Sharma, Main Tera Hero, Dilwale. His scenes in Dilwale were painful to watch. He doesn't seem to be pushing himself as an actor either as his upcoming movies aren't any different from the stuff he's done before - Humpty 2, Dishoom etc...

Sid was wooden in SOTY but I found his performance in Hasee Toh Phasee to be earnest. He was a complete natural. I like the way he approaches the boy-next-door characters. Even in Kapoor & Sons, he was part of star cast and still managed to stand out while underplaying his part and not having any breakthrough moments per se. That's a sign of a good actor in my opinion. His performance in Ek Villain was average - he did well in the action scenes but I found him struggle with the emotional parts. I like the fact that he's taken more risks as well when it comes to movies, roles and even the length of his roles. His upcoming BBD doe not look promising but at least it's in a different space.

I might be in the minority but Sid in Ek Villain and Varun in Badlapur were two very comparable roles and I personally found Sid to be more convincing. Haven't seen ABCD 2 or Brothers.

I agree with that he has had more critical and box office claim. At the moment I dnt think that sid has had either of that.

Varun is delivering poor performances.In Dilwale he was terrible and with Dishoom trailer,it looks more like continuation from where he left off. Sid was so poor in emotional scenes in K&S.It was Fawad all the way. All three Karan's SOTY kids have been so damn poor[. /QUOTE].gosh dnt even let me start about alia and hw much I disliked her in K&S. Neither can she act well, nor is she pretty. It was annoying to see her in the movie. I dnt get her purpose in it nor did she look good opposite sid. She looked good with Fawad though.

A3 I worry about that movie. Sid does well with those sort of movies. Bt his pairing with Alia. Gosh they dnt have much chemistry. They average at best.

The only ones who impresses with their acting are ranbir and ranveer now Fawad can come close them. Didnt see much from him but K&S showed that he has definetely potential. Varun is good with his boxoffice numbers but his acting is nothing special to rave about but I appreciate his performance in Badlapur it was different and he definetely tries to be better but this movie also showed that he has still a long way to come close in the acting department. But like someone said acting is not enough you have to be entertaining enough to get people to the cinemas. Right now its Ranveer and Varun but Ranbir i dont know what he does he bores me actually while watching his movies lately hopefully this will change with the upcoming movies since they are in his comfort zone.

I was abit shocked at the emotional scene when he went off that was bad. I think he needs to control his dialogue delivery in emotional scenes
