has Sid surpassed Varun coz of K& S?

I just finished watching Kapoor and Sons and I just loved Sid in it. Thought he was so good and the role was so perfect for him. He didn't over act or underplayed it. He is only 4 films old and I thought that he only messed up 1 scene which was the emotional scene at the end were he really struggled. I think whereas 1 is trying to be a comedian aka VD the other is pulling at the heart strings of the audience. Besides soty I have liked all of sid's movies. Loved him in that movie with Pari. I think he was ok-good in EV, I loved Brothers and thought he did really well but needed more screen time. And in K&S he did well as well bt it was an easy character u got to be a really bad actor to not do that character right. And then there is VD last year he had ABCD 2 which honestly I felt was an grp movie wherein he wasn't even the true focus. Even though it was promoted as his movie he wasn't the star dance was. K&S this is also not a single hero movie bt both leads got equal screen time. Then there was Dudwale. He was so disappointing with his over acting he couldn't even touch Srk or even kajol(who acted pathetically in it). He over acted, didn't do anything new and was useless. A role that should have been easy for him he couldn't do. Dishoom he looks like he found that hard as well considering he looks a bit constipated as well in it. He has 1 Badlapur and has nothing else. Years from now no1 will watch his movies besides badlapur. But Sid all his movies have been very good. At the moment the sort of movies that they are making the quality is the production houses. VD is working with the wrong ppl he needs to work more with the yash raj's, etc. Sid I think needs to maybe do a total comedy or action movie I think with movie with Jacky he would be doing that. Bt for me at the moment I think that Sid is going to soon surpass VD coz of the sort of movies he is making romantic family dramas. I know Ranveer is the flavor of the month bt he has not been consistent box office wise and let's see whether after 3/4 movies how the box office reacts to him. Arjun kapoor(the actor not the character that Sid played lol) is the dark horse his luck is amazing. Bt Sid I feel if he continues doing these sort of movies will surpass them. But obviously Fawad is the best and the total package.

Nope, as much as I loved his character in Kapoor and Sons, it was an out and out Fawad's movie. His was the most appreciated and remembered character while Sid's char faded into the background. Though, I wish they had given some more scope to Arjun's charecter, my favourite of the lot.

Meanwhile, when compared to Varun, Sid is really bland on screen. Varun actually stands out in all his movies. His biggest asset is the number of super hit dance numbers he has to his credit and also his ability to entertain the audience in all his movies, even when the story is lame. This forum won't agree but he comes across as really adorable in sweet characters. Varun is an entertainer. And these are the kinds that bring you to the theater.

Sidharth will be better, he only needs more experience 😳

Sorry to say but Sid didnt act well. In an ensemble, it is really important to make your acting stand out. Even if the character is boring/ one dimensional. He had one important scene opposite Ratna, he couldnt nail it. he was bad.

One movie doesn't change things drastically. Sid was good in K n S but he was good compared to his own previous movies, not when compared to performers like ranbir or ranveer...
If there are consistently good performances by an actor, it is well noted by big directors...then you know the guy has reached next level...

At present, best movies and directors go to khans, then hrithik, then Ranbir, then Ranveer... after this, there are bunch of actors doing random different movies... you have to see which directors are working with Sid as a solo actor.

Sid has limited expressions which has hampered his success. He has improved but male audience hasnt liked him so far...
Fawad won't reach the top because it's India. Arjun Kapoor has a physique problem which doesnt suit him to play every role and will become hit and miss in coming years.

My best bets are still Ranveer, Ranbir and Varun..

Varun has so far clicked with masses but his luck at boxoffice will run out too and then we have to see how he takes it...his father knows what clicks with masses...he singlehandedly created Govinda the superstar...


added- something Sid fans should be proud of is that Sid is not from bollywood family and as such will have to struggle more at each and every step in future.If he equals Varun at any level, by default he will be considered higher.

Nope, Varun has solo hits to his credit and his acting has been appreciated by critics, Sid is yet to enter that mold.

Sid was Fawad's sidekick in K & S

Sid was almost okay in the movie, and I am being generous. Varun in Badlapur looked legit bad ass, and did a very good job.
I love Sid, from the young lot, but still he is least talented of all.

Sid was okay for K&S and he had one scene which he needed to nail to show how good he can be but he couldnt impress and that shows his lack of talent or being a good actor. The character he played is something in which every actor would excel. The only difficult character of the brothers was fawads and he done an amazing good job thats why he outshined Sid.
The only ones who impresses with their acting are ranbir and ranveer now Fawad can come close them. Didnt see much from him but K&S showed that he has definetely potential. Varun is good with his boxoffice numbers but his acting is nothing special to rave about but I appreciate his performance in Badlapur it was different and he definetely tries to be better but this movie also showed that he has still a long way to come close in the acting department. But like someone said acting is not enough you have to be entertaining enough to get people to the cinemas. Right now its Ranveer and Varun but Ranbir i dont know what he does he bores me actually while watching his movies lately hopefully this will change with the upcoming movies since they are in his comfort zone.
