This is a really awful mindset.
I have attempted suicide thrice in my whole life of 19 years, the last attempt was the closest I got to death and trust me when you are in that moment you are not able to think, not able to see a single streak of hope -- you feel helpless, hopeless, completely tired and frustrated along with a lot of other emotions. It is overwhelming and consumes you.It is just really really easy to say that it makes people 'weak' or not worthy of sympathy. Our brain is one of the most complicated things in the world. Our brain controls our whole body, that is why when someone is depressed-- their mental peace is ruined-- their whole body stops being healthy too. It is a scary and extremely hurtful thing. It doesn't show like fever or cold but it happens inside of you and breaks you with each moment. Ruins your self esteem and shatters your heart again and again.Such people need compassion, support and gentleness. Not judgment. I hope you never go through such a stage where you feel depressed but you shouldn't just disregard the ones who suffer and struggle with it everyday.RIP Pratyusha Banerjee.
