Gosh! What a terrible thing to say! For one min, lets stop thinking of her as a celebrity. She was a human being. And how much pain must a human being be in to think that death is the better option? I feel for her and for her family and loved ones. May her soul RIP and may we have better Psychiatric services for everyone, and better screening for Depression.
It's so sad when a young life with so much potential is lost this way.

I get what you are saying but I don't think Media has ever propagated that committing suicide is ok or acceptable. If the suicide happens in a very mysterious way then the police will investigate the close ones of the victim.

Again its very easy for us to say ( actually I posted about it yesterday) that why the abused victim not get out of an abusive relationship. Every case is different ,every relationship is different. So therefore we won't know why the victim was still enduring emotional or physical abuse. Sometimes its not so easy to get out of a relationship. That said hopefully more and more victims of abuse will come forward and seek help so that they don't take an extreme step.

Same goes for depression. For me to write or call out ppl and say that get help for your depression,is easy but for them it might be difficult. I feel that if my brother or sister or a loved one is going through depression then I should make more efforts to ensure that they seek help and not let them just be.Depressed ppl often alienate themselves but they just need that one person in their life who pushes them towards diagnosis, medical help, recovery and make some sort of difference in their life. The stigma associated with mental illness in this society should be challenged and more efforts should be put towards recovery.

Suicide isn't an easy thing for anyone and I have never gone through depression myself or had a breakup to know what it feels like. One may be emotionally stressed or weak that makes them take such a drastic step but the person can seek for help and in such cases, they can consult a doctor/friend who can help them.

Here in Pratyusha's case, her parents were not living with her but she had a lot of friends and some were really close. I hope someone would be with her and try to help her by taking her to a doctor. People who are depressed sometimes don't realize this and get scared of sharing their problems with another person but here Pratyusha seems to be a girl who often used to be in contact with her friends.

I am nobody to judge her or comment on why did she commit suicide but I can only say that many a times people take their lives when their relationship gets abusive or they have a breakup. It's something that one cannot control but ending your life for someone else who doesn't care for you or doesn't love you makes it even harder for me to digest, though it's a fact. Never ever get attached to another person/thing to an extent that you can end your life for the person/thing.

Its really easy to say not to end your liife over a boyfriend or some issue but the pain and depression that person suffers from, is not something someone else can understand only that person knows what they are suffering from. You come to an stage where you feel numb, your soul dies. You feel nothing and lose your dreams hopes everything. Its never easy to take your life, its takes a lot of guts to do that.

When I was a younger I too thought that it would take a lot of guts to commit suicide but as I have grown older, over the years I have realized that actually it takes guts to live it out no matter what. Committing suicide is a wrong decision taken at the most weakest and most vulnerable point in your life. We need to spread more awareness, educate and encourage young people to seek help, talk it out, and help them know that no matter what there is a support system around them that will not judge them!! The need of the hour is to spread awareness suicide will not solve anything but change but leave loved ones shattered without any closure...for life...that is the greatest tragedy of any suicide, the WHY cannot be answered or understood!! 😭

This is a really awful mindset.

I have attempted suicide thrice in my whole life of 19 years, the last attempt was the closest I got to death and trust me when you are in that moment you are not able to think, not able to see a single streak of hope -- you feel helpless, hopeless, completely tired and frustrated along with a lot of other emotions. It is overwhelming and consumes you.

It is just really really easy to say that it makes people 'weak' or not worthy of sympathy.

Our brain is one of the most complicated things in the world. Our brain controls our whole body, that is why when someone is depressed-- their mental peace is ruined-- their whole body stops being healthy too. It is a scary and extremely hurtful thing. It doesn't show like fever or cold but it happens inside of you and breaks you with each moment. Ruins your self esteem and shatters your heart again and again.

Such people need compassion, support and gentleness. Not judgment. I hope you never go through such a stage where you feel depressed but you shouldn't just disregard the ones who suffer and struggle with it everyday.

RIP Pratyusha Banerjee.

Please, please, please dont do that ever again. Think of your parents. Did they nurture you so many years with so much joy and pain to be left questioning WHY!! Think of them, think of yourself, though it may seem hopeless please remember the possibilities are endless...Hope you have the guts to face every morning and to see life in all its glory!! Stay blessed and in bliss 😊

To kills yourself takes a lot of guts and that's something which comes after a long time. She must have definitely been suffering from a long time. It's not weakness. She would have obviously reached out for help but didn't get any. Only she knows how she felt. I don't say suicide is a way out but it's definitely something which she would have thought about and tried. She needed love and medical help which she didn't get. May God make it easier for her loved ones.

IMO suicide needs to be condemned...you cant deal with life?
there are millions of people who dont have food/water and real life threatening problems, but they are still making an effort to live each day.
Instead of sympathy, spread awareness of mental health, rich people who can afford therapy should not feel shame in accepting they need help.
Love life problems/ Stressful job is a part and parcel of everybody's life. I dont know anybody who have it all "easy". Instead of dealing with shit, Suicide is the easy way taken out when expectations are not met.
When you dont have "courage" to deal with life, you are a coward. #CondemnSuicide

And then the thought occurs to me that the thing which pushes a person to go this extreme, to cross the border so fiercely must be so dangerously dark and negative that you're resorting to this last option where life ends, just ends.. The struggle of 24 yrs, the love of family and friends, and above all, the factor - LIFE - seems to be pointless.. This sounds terribly sad ..

I dont know if Pratz committed suicide out of Depression or not, but no, the people who are suicidal out of Depression, does not get affected by another suicide too.. Nothing affects them anymore.. Neither life, nor death.. If death of someone else could make an impact on them, life of someone would do that too..

I agree with you buddy. Sometimes life gets way too painful even to breathe. But people should remember that they are not alone. You can see there are so many videos on youtube that actually discourages you to even of self harm. In the worst period of my life I have seen couple of these videos and that has made me even a stronger person.

I wish these videos were seen by Pratyusha so she would not have taken this drastic step.😭

I promise you, you won't be making posts like this although for that one needs to have compassion for their fellow humans.
Can you think of sitting somewhere all alone and thinking killing yourself is the only answer to your problems??
I have never been really depressed, sad beyond words, yes, stressed yes but never really depressed so I can't know what's like to be in that situation other than what I read arnd and saw on tv.
But I can tell you this much, something very very powerful must drive someone to take sucha drastic step.
Even if the same thing seem fixable to me and you, in their mind it wasn't, in their mind dying was the only solution.
Very strong emotions and their mind didn't give them any support.
I can't for the life of me think suicide is easy for anyone.
That's why you gotta try to understand what can make anyone take their own life, they not thinking like you and I are.
They thinking differently and probably that's what depression is.
They prisoners of their minds, we all are but not everyone can see the positive in negative situations.
So instead of looking down on them just try to understand their perspective too.
They weren't thinking like you wld in that situation.
You gotta be grateful to god or whatever you blv in for giving you strong mind (if you think they had/have weak mind)
Cuz even then its not something they cld control you know they can't just go to market or doctor to get stronger mind.
As I mentioned I'm someone who's never sad for long period of time, it's not like life doesn't throw shit at me, it does all kinda funny stuff including losing loved ones...i just hate been sad so I do what I can to escape it, and it's not that difficult to to cheer myself up or snap out of whatever thats going on at the time. (Sometimes I'm afraid it might caught up to me)
God has also given the strength if you must say.
And I never ever take credit for that, I always always thank God for it.
Especially when I see how others deal with things.
So please once again just think about what can make another fellow human being to do something that you can't even think about doing.
And you might have these people some compassion.
But if you keep looking things from your perspective then you will find flaws in them and their decision and remember we are all flawed.
I'm in no way saying suicide is ok or its the answer to any problem.
But making such posts isn't gonna help in any way.
What these people need is help from professionals who are trained for this, and the rest of us to be supportive.
to have everyone of us educate themseleves about depression to some extent, so instead of thinking "oh she/he killed themselves for a boyfriend or money"? What a wasteof life.
And looking down on them, cuz that's the last thing that someone dealing with depression needs.
Just try to understand.
Suicide is NOT the answer but what they need is help not judgmens.

May her soul rest in peace.

I agree with you that for some people mental health and well being is a joke. I am really glad that some people take depression as serious disorder like any other disease. It is very difficult for anyone to come out of its clutches.
