SLB should avoid giving these limerick type dialogues to DP cuz she sounds toneless reciting them...he used the same trope in Devdas also but it was delivered better, especially by the likes of Madhuri...here it just ends up looking artificial...there were similar silly dialogues in RL too I recall...but again that was a fictitious universe so Bhansali took liberties...this is history and he's trying to make the characters melodramatic in their dialogue-baazi😆

Sorry about the ramble...but coming back to the point...I think it's all credit to PC here that she is bringing a tremendous amount of nuance to her role even if it's the supporting one...when an actor can STEAL a movie from the main players, that says it all about an actor's calibre...this is what PC has evolved to...she has that fire in her.

From whatever I've seen of the trailer, this observation couldn't be more spot on. They indeed should have cast a lesser known face or a worse actress than Deepika if they really wanted people to root for Bajirao and Mastani. You never make the competitor to your protagonist, forget just as good, but even better.

hrithik would be a terrible bajirao imo, he already goes too contrived with his flared nostril theatrics even without an indulgent director like SLB. the best possible cast was probably the one SLB was actually trying to secure: ajay/pc/kareena but idk, kareena is an awful dancer and ranveer aesthetically looks better than ajay even though ajay has a more imposing presence befitting of a warrior. his current cast is probably fine for the film, kashibai is meant to be the most sympathetic character. the only potential snafu is that PC-RS possibly have better chemistry.

The role of Kashi is actually minimal, but SLB has manipulated it with dances and others. PC was definitely the right choice for the role but if they casted a not so known actress, then the focus could have shifted more on B and M. but now people will definitely be considering PC as the power pack of the film, even though her role is of the supporting actress.

I wanna clarify. SLB is making a film on bajirao and mastani but the role of kashi has stolen the show. If they wud hv cast a lesser known actress then slbs focus on the leads wud hv been greater. Now audience will go and feel for kashibai, which will dampen the titular roles of the film.

I think dp should stop doing two leading roles, she's done too many of them now. Even Cocktail, Diana penty was the talk of the town

We will only know this after we see the film 😆😆

I thought she overshadowed Kareena & Akshay in Aitraaz even though the movie was about them.
