Everyone does things on the sly and indirectly here.

If Salman spreads his laps on the Eid timeframe every year, what will smaller filmmakers/actors do?

No one wants to go out of their way to incur a loss. Obviously they'd give way to Salman, isn't it?

This goes for Aamir Khan as well, he always has a phenomenal Christmas season, which less-established actor would be like "hey I feel like taking the biggest and most financially risky chance at my career, RIGHT now"?

UGLY was released during xmas...
good buzz was there...
it got the screeens and showtimes which were in accordance to the stature of that movie...
good reviews..
everything...
(and as someone stated in this thread...a small film should be pitted against a big one on festivals and both will excel)...

but everyone knows what did happened... it was a major disaster despite being low budget, good buzz, proper screenings...
so there is another big question mark here..
