(and as someone stated in this thread...a small film should be pitted against a big one on festivals and both will excel)...

Did you truthfully expect Ugly to be a superhit film?

If you read the reviews, if you read people's reviews, you'd realize that the movie made the kind of buzz and impact that it intended to.

But it's more of a laughing matter, if you thought that the makers wanted it to be as much as a financial success as say, PK 😆

With that said, there ARE other filmmakers who do want superhit fares, which is reflected in the kind of movies they make. It's THOSE that are in question here

Well I never ever gave even a slightest hint that I was expecting it to match pk's business.. obviously not... what I meant was lil films can be successful too as per their budget.. but it didnt ..

yes I myself stated that it generated a buzz and many liked it...but why it could not even recover the small budget even in those long holiday periods... it should atleast recover from its niche audiences...
anyways, film business and its analysis is one of the trickiest and unpredictable on so many levels...
so yeah, we cant give a general rule of thumb and simplify things as such...

Did BOI seriously try to say Dhoom 3, Kick and HNY are better projects than Drishyam, Baby or even Gabbar is Back? 😆

^ there's a lot of factors that come into play.

Maybe a film like Ugly is not the kind that people wanna go to a theater and watch. Lots of people who enjoy that niche could BE SAID to prefer to download the same... its not the equivalent of a more niche feel good film that maybe couples or select families would enjoy viewing together on a big screen.

So What u wanna say that Salman or any other Khan sohuld move just coz of some other actors ? And Why So ? Did any other top star / Actor got aside and gave them their place when Khans were in their initial Stage ? Koi kisiko jagah nahi deta hai Film industry mein ..U need to make ur own place . Agar aap mein talent nahi hai toh Kitni bhi holidays leke baith jao ..koi faida nahi hoga .

Secondly , U can't expect Salman or any other Khan to avoid their Fans wishes who want to see them on Eid , Diwali or Xmas . Ab Khans Apne Fans ki wishes chodke kisi doosre actors ka toh nahi sochenge naa . Right ?
