BOI raised a BIG QUESTION MARK at 3 Khans' popularity... !!

Q. Why is it that Khan films open so big and the rest of the films so less and are they actually that much bigger stars than the rest as the opening day collections suggest?

Ans. They are bigger than the rest but not as much the collections indicate. That also has a lot to do with better well chosen projects and the best periods of the year for release. The others never get these periods so have to do with the best of what is left. But this won't change quickly as they have monopoly on those three major release dates of the year so its either someone with the right project challenges them or they make mistakes with their big festive releases which opens it up for others.

Don't you think the statement from BOI in bold is quite a BOLD STATEMENT about 3 khans' ACTUAL popularity ?

I think the 3 Khans all need to purchase very large armchairs.

They have just used MONOPOLY thing out of context as they don't know for sure. NO Khan ever has threatened or asked any other big stars or films not to come on Eid, Diwali or Xmas... it is Distributors / exhibitors 1st choice is KHAN film only, so in competition opposition may loss some money, so better not to clash with KHANS on these 3 dates.

Now Akki has come with Brothers?? He just made 21 Cr.

SR / Brothers both have turned out to be THANDA after initial opening, while all EID Salman releases are Money Spinners.

Diwali also, Ajay / Akki / Salman came in 2008 - Blue, All The Best, MAMK... while MAMK was disaster, other 2 were Average films.

Xmas also Akki has come with Tees Maar Khan, result everyone knows.

Now if Other stars can't do big at those dates, so why blame only KHANS, as now KHANS know very well how 2 make a good Entertaining films & bring it on these dates.

I guess u should write this back to BOI in reply of that section.

The film released during Ramzaan and lost 75% of screens the next week to Bajrangi..yet it has collected 120(?) crores.

TWMR did 150 crores(same as HNY ,SR,Dabanng 2 )..without a single holiday.

just few days ago I said the same thing in one of the BOI threads opened by lafunga and now BOI themselves have said it 😆

First of all Monopoly Word is been used wrongly here . Khans didn't stop other actor / Star to clash with them on Holidays or to come on Holidays . So yeh monopoly kahan se ho gayi ? 😕

Secondly , Huge Stars / Actors , Holidays can just give initial Openings or little boost to collections . Rest of the work is been done by WOM & other factors . There are various examples where Even after having big openings ..films got crashed in few days .
