But the matter was already in court. I think it was a rough time for Amrita because she was waiting for the divorce settlement to come through and probably didn't have a lot of money at that time and needed to start working again. But it was not for forever. It was just to keep herself stable until the courts could properly divide financial assets.

Saif should have been a good guy and provided her some specific amount of money to care for the children during that time. But leaving open all his bank accounts to let her do whatever she wants doesn't make a lot of sense honestly. They weren't married anymore so it's natural they would not have free access to each others accounts now.

Btw, a lot of Saif's money at the time was I assume family money that he already had before he married Amrita. She would not have any right to that money. Community property is what's earned during the marriage and Saif was not that big a star at the time. He was struggling a lot for most of those 13 years. They probably lived a big luxurious lifestyle based on Saif's nawab money but Amrita would have no rights to that.

I get what you are saying but why did he freeze their joint accounts...sure freeze your own account but a joint account is shared together irrespective of who put how much money in it.

The fact that she was fighting a legal battle in court which cost her money...all the more reasons for Saif to support her financially for the kids at least. I am pretty sure he knew whats her financial condition yet he didnt help her

The fact that he froze the accounts is not the problem here. He did not provide any financial assistance is the problem. Now, it's his money and he may choose to provide it in whichever way he wants to, but he cannot completely withhold alimony. Usually in divorce cases, the wife is not given access to the accounts of the ex-husband unless they're both comfortable with it, but the husband specifies the manner in which financial assistance will be provided.

Agree that Saif should have definitely helped Amrita during that time, especially to provide for the children's needs. But people become jerks during a divorce and Saif was no different. I would not be shocked if Amrita was also being rude in other ways like limiting access to the children. This is the norm in almost every acrimonious split.

I wouldn't judge people just from how they behave in a divorce. It brings out the worst in everyone. Saif's cheating is of course another thing. That he is a total jerk for. I really don't know how Kareena trusts him especially after his antics like getting tattoos and showing off. It makes him look like a stupid child, not a grown man.

Saif was undoubtedly a jerk. Whatever your feelings towards your ex, when a divorce happens, as a father it is your responsibility to make the unpalatable transition for the kids as smooth as possible. Instead, he only proceeded to create hurdles for them. It cannot have been easy. However, he seems to have turned a new leaf over ever since so it's good to see them all getting along now, especially his kids and the second wife. I don't think Saif and Amrita can ever have an amicable relationship. Their's was an acrimonious divorce unlike Aamir and the others. Nevertheless, if they can keep it together for the kids, that's the best they can do for their emotional health.

And u know what one of the PERKS of living in a democratic country is?? You go the courts...file for custody...and if u prove to be a good father...and the courts think u can provide for ur kids...the court grants joint custody to the kids...Saif didn't have to be at Amrita's mercy for seeing the kids...he is their father...one of the parents...so please don't even use this as an excuse for whatever Saif did...and bank accounts can go to hell...Why was the douchebag not providing for his kids??? Why had outsiders like SD had to step in?? Saif was a douchebag...lets accept this fact...Divorces are messy...husband and wife are rude to one another...but they both have to provide for the kids...NO EXCUSES ARE ACCEPTABLE

Saif should have been a good guy????I love ur posts but What is wrong with u today😕?? Seriously...TO provide for his kids is his LEGAL OBLIGATION and MORAL DUTY...where is the question of being a good guy or a bad guy come here...You are talking as if Saif was going to do some kind of charity here...NO he was not...he is obligated by law to do that...

No, he was not obligated by the law to provide anything until the courts settled the divorce and split the assets. The actual divorce process can end up taking a long time, sometimes even years! During that intervening time, there are really no rules and it turns into a free for all. Some people refuse to provide money, some people refuse to allow access to the children, and all sorts of stuff occurs.

This is the time frame where custody has not been granted yet and alimony has not been decided. This stuff takes a long time. Once everything was signed on paper, Amrita did get child support from Saif. She also got the house they used to live in and he got joint custody of the kids. Amrita stopped working a long time ago because she started getting money from Saif for child care needs and probably alimony for herself too. She was only working and getting monetary help (from Sanjay Dutt?) while the divorce was still in court and she was waiting for everything to be legalized.

Of course he should not have been a jerk and helped her out during that time in the middle when everything was not down on paper. But that's life. I also take all the stuff that comes in the papers with a grain of salt. Each side tries to make the other one look bad.

Amrita would have gotten him arrested if he was breaking laws or doing something illegal. It's not that simple. Morally, of course SAif was a creep, nobody is really denying that. But legally, he wasn't really doing anything wrong at the time. If he was, Amrita would have made sure to get him in a lot of trouble.

OK agreed...but since we r discussing about the legalities...all the properties that are accrued in a marriage are community property...meaning they belonged to Saif and Amrita both...irrespective of who earned it...so that joint account should still have been left open...and the courts should have decided who gets what?? Whatever was withdrawn by Amrita was on papers...the courts could have accounted for that while making a judgment...There was no need for Saif to interfere there...It was a JOINT bank account...
These are all excuses u know...saif had to freeze the account because Amrita would have emptied it...Saif didn't have any actual money...it was family money and blah blah...If u don't have money...u go and sell chana on the footpath and provide for ur kids...u don't cutoff the only source tht is there by freezing it...If u are old enough to make babies...u are old enough to understand tht babies need food, clothing and a roof over their head...they don't just live on air...
