Akshay Kumar and Saif Ali Khan Reunite Onscreen After 17 Years Since 'Tashan'

Bollywood’s most-loved jodi is coming back! After 17 long years, Akshay Kumar and Saif Ali Khan are all set to share the screen once again. Fans who still remember their fun chemistry in the 2008 film Tashan will now see them together in a fresh avatar – this time in a thrilling new film directed by Priyadarshan.

According to Hindustan Times source, this project is not just another entertainer but a gripping, edge-of-the-seat thriller. A close source revealed, “Akshay and Saif have always enjoyed working with each other and admired each other’s work. The moment they read the script, they knew they were on board.” That strong bond and mutual respect is what made this reunion possible.

The source further added, “It’s a nail-biting and entertaining thriller film. Helmed by Priyadarshan, it will leave the audiences on the edge of their seats!” The film will go on floors in August 2025 and is planned for a theatrical release in 2026.

Akshay and Saif have given us some iconic films in the past. From the action-packed Main Khiladi Tu Anari (1994) to the emotional Yeh Dillagi and the fun ride Tu Chor Main Sipahi (1996), their on-screen magic has always been a hit. Now, after nearly two decades, the magic is returning.

Meanwhile, Akshay Kumar seems to be on a roll. He is already working with Priyadarshan on another upcoming project titled Bhoot Bangla. This horror-comedy marks their reunion after 14 years. Not just that, fans of the Hera Pheri series will be thrilled to know that Priyadarshan is also directing Hera Pheri 3.

Akshay shared his happiness and said, “Priyam sir has given all of us a fabulous surprise by offering to direct Hera Pheri 3. What a fabulous start to 2025.” With back-to-back collaborations, it’s clear that the Akshay-Priyadarshan combo is back with full power.
