@chocolover89

well yeah but wouldn't u be embarrassed? I would if I'd be in my 30s my sis in her 40s and I'd still call her didi. idk

Not really. The first husband was a douche, he beat her up, cheated on her, scarred her emotionally. No fault there at all. The second one was only after her name and money. I don't think its right to blame the victim. How could she have known both the marriages would fail?

Embarassed of saying didi, bhiayya when I'm 30+? No not at all. What's there to be embarassed about? They're my family and if that's what I've always called them then that's what I'll continue calling them. I don't see any big difference between saying didi/bhaiyya and saying their names honestly.

Im sure karisma herself doesnt want to be called "didi" and lol this didi thing sounds very ass licking to me! i dont call my cousins didi or bhaiya crap despite the fact the are 10 yrs older to me! it sounds very fake and formal! i dont know about india, but in pakistan this trend is over especially lahore n karachi! even in india im sure its prefered to be called by name now! However against indian culture is a bit exaggerated IMO, indians are becoming modern every day, i dont think its against or anything!

What annoys me the most is random grown-ups calling me didi... Not much in Bangalore and Mumbai, but particularly in Dehi.
I remember couple years back while visiting Delhi, We were at a mall and this guy at the check out counter said didi aapka bill... I turned around and said Hum dono mele mein bichde hue bhai behan hai kya... Poor guy did not know what to say. My sis dragged me from there saying You scarred that guy for life. He won't even address his sister as didi from now on... 😆

If I have to serious, who calls anyone didi anymore? 😆My siblings have never called me didi. Only my underage cousins call me didi.

same here. except i don't like it. makes me feel ancient! i have a name...use it!

but i know some of my older cousins (as in few yrs not the ones who are as old as my parents...yes I have some of those!) are so stuck up. you have to call them dada/didi blah blah and address them with respect.

I personally would love to hear my younger siblings/cousins call me didi...it feels so apna...but just my luck they call me by name..oh well 😆

Coming back to the OT: Well its their personal preference...maybe Karisma prefers not being called didi 😆

*yawn*
Tomorrow, let's not ask why Kareena doesn't bow down to Karishma and lick her feet clean.

Seriously though, what a ridiculous topic. Sorry KSH, but what prompted you to make this? Firstly, why would anyone care? I mean, when Kareena fans or detractors don't mull their head about it, why would you as someone neutral to her even bother? And W*F is Indian culture anyway. Isn't culture by definition, ever changing and evolving. And there's nothing inherently wrong about societal norms as long as you don't harm anyone.

I call my maternal aunts, uncles, even some distant family members by name. Funny thing though, I have never called my sis by name, no idea why.
