Why doesnt Kareena address Karishma as didi?

Karishma is 9 years older than Kareena and Kareena calls her by her name. Thats so against Indian culture. Why doesnt she give respect to Karishma? Discuss.

OMG...calling someone by name is disrespecting them??...when did that happen...respect vicharon se hoti hai...didi aur bhaiya kehne se nahi...my two younger brothers call me by name...not didi...but they respect me more than anyone else...

First of Karisma is 6 years older than her. NOT 9. Second thing, who cares, nobody refers to me as didi as well, beside I find it funny when grown bollywood actors refer to their siblings as didi.. Hrithik for example, calls his sister didi instead of baby elephant 🤢

In Indian culture we address people we dont even know respectfully. Like someone who seems little sernior is called Didi/Bhaiyya and otherwise uncle/aunty. Whole of Bengal calls CM Mamata as Mamata didi.

ksh: Indian culture varies by region as well as changes with time.

My sister is nearly six years younger to me and she has always called me by my name/nickname. Simularily, my cousins who are several years older than me have always been referred to as their first names.

It is not a sign of disrespect, but changing social norms, convenience, and at times even affection and a symbol of closeness.
