Salman Khan - I Don't Get It

Can someone please explain to me what the eff is such a big deal about Salman Khan? I just don't get it. I've been watching Hindi films for twenty years, and never have I ever been more flabbergasted by an actor's success. I remember way back when going to see Pyar Kiya Toh Darna Kya in theaters and getting pissed about wasting my time and money. Seriously, how is this guy considered a good actor? He hams outrageously, he always has the same damn look, mannerisms, etc. I know Bollywood isn't the pinnacle of method acting or anything, but he's a terrible actor. I don't even think it's a matter of opinion at this point. I don't understand how anyone can say he's talented at what he does. Sure, he's handsome in that generic sort of way and he works out. Great. So, aside from Tere Naal (That movie pleasantly surprised me) and, to an extent, Kyun Ki (which was terrible, but atleast he tried something different), how is he a good actor? Why do awful movies like Bodygaurd, Ready, etc. become box office phenomenons? This is the dude who very nearly ruined the ending of Hum Dil De Chuke Sanam with his craptastic crying meltdown. Ajay Devgan acted circles around this clown. So, a fan, someone appreciative of his work, please tell me what I'm missing. Because Ranbir, Hrithik, Aamir, Saif, and Shahid are WAY ahead of him. If he were a good guy, I would understand it. Sunil Shetty is a terrible actor, but he seems like such a stand-up guy. But Salman abuses women (He totally Ike Turnered Aishwarya Rai), is an alcoholic, and pretty much murdered some homeless dude by running him over drunkenly with his car. So what gives? Even Shah Rukh, who in my opinion is also terrible, has movies that one can mention that really stand the test of time, but why Salman?!?!?!?!?!?!? W*F guys? Seriously?

every bollywood actor has problem in the film industry includeding SRK Kyun was copy of american film, I enjoyed watching it, now about Hum Dil De Chuke Sanam crying meltdown SRK did the same damn thing in Devdas plus got drunk and died. Pyar Kiya Toh Darna Kya was great movie, I loved his action, the film I hated was Oh God Tusi great ho, and hello brother, Salman maybe a drunk, SRK is pot head, the dude smokes like chimney, no offense if you dont like him then why watch him 🤢 I hate nana patekar I dont even bother watching any of his films.

salman actually acted well in movie LOVE...i just dont get it why ppl cant connect with this movie...? i think its the best film of his career even he looked like a lizard in the movie

Puh-leez, sanasoufi, just today Tilda was overlooked for an Oscar nomination that consisted of Michelle Williams for a movie with Marilyn Monroe and Rooney Mara was nominated (although I heard she was pretty good in her performance).

I totally agree...Salman is one of the worst actors in bollywood... he always has the same expressions...all others like SRK, Amir, hrithik, ranbir, saif, shahid etc etc are way ahead of him as far as acting is concerned!
