Salman Khan is charismatic, there's no too ways about it. and in bollywood, all you need is charisma and charm. Acting DOES NOT COUNT. Did I say that loud enough? No? Okay, Imma say it again. ONSCREEN ACTING DOES NOT COUNT IN BOLLYWOOD. ONLY OFFSCREEN ACTING DOES.

Salman Khan is a crap actor, TBH. This opinion of mine only intensified after watching Yuvvraaj and Bodyguard

He GOT AWAY with it in bodyguard, IMO, because the director tried to set up a stupid stereotype that bodyguards lose all their emotions after being appointed as bodyguards.

He got away with not giving ek kaadi ki emotion on his face, felt like he gave his girlfriend a tribute or something

but good gosh, he does have charisma. He may not know the rules of the trade, but he's a fantastic camera manipulator. He knows what clicks with desi audiences, and he knows what we appreciate as viewers.

He is basically maahir in masala, and suprisingly, I've realized over the years that its not easy being a masala artist.

Actually, if I could have zero acting talent, have a six pack, and make crap tons of money despite the fact that I DON'T ACTUALLY DO ANYTHING OF NOTE, life would be awesome. I guess I am jealous. Fun fact though- I noticed Salman has a belly button ring. I'm not jealous of that. I find that kind of...strange.

Salman Khan pretty much does the same thing in all of his films. He has very rarely experimented and barring a few films, it's been the same old silly dancing, making faces etc etc. But obviously that has clicked with the masses. I mean, he's on a roll in terms of box office success. He's certainly not Bollywood's best actor and is pretty average. But I agree with Liverach- Salman is maahir in the masala flicks and knows what will work for him. I guess majority of the audience loves him, warna picture nahin chalti, boss!

It's not about acting talent...it's about charisma...the ability to attract audience...there are some people who are not very good at what they do but are charming enough to make you like them...once you like them for whatever reason you ignore all their faults or they seem normal (arre who doesn't have faults!)...and you just like whatever they do...and think all their little goodness and abilities are awesome...

when you don't like a person all their goodness fall in your blindspot and all their flaws stare at you in the eye...

now many people can see the truth beyond their likes/dislikes...there are plenty who just don't or even if they do they don't want to pay attention to those :P
