^^ and to add to that,

many of the actresses I see in BW are either beauty pageant contestants, models, or star-kids

I bet none of them have to audition for their roles or show any acting skills.

This is why I'm glad that we have the Anushkas and Vidyas in BW- although they're not the best of the best, they are the last remaining hope BW actresses have in being taken seriously.

Thanks for the article Pandora.....but I'm sure that Anushka was also a model too before she went into films

The real question is how many of them are actresses who aren't part of the criteria you listed......a very small amount indeed

The same could go for the actors as well but in BW, a little more is expected from the actors since they usually have to carry showpieces alongside of them

Oscars aren't flawless, I agree, I am not very big fan of their results to be honest. But it's thousand times better than BW awards ANY DAY! Oscars look like an angel infront of BW awards...BW awards are nothing but a joke really. And I loved NP's performance in Black Swan...She was fab! So she definitely was worth the oscar! =)

Anushka was a model also....I don't know why people forget that😆

But it's not like they were models and that's how they got the role. They auditioned like the rest of the people. I remember seeing audition videos

I understand being a model doesn't necessarily make you a bad actress but why are a high percentage of BW actresses former models? Assuming that everyone has about the same chance, shouldn't they be represented less in the pool of actresses?

You don't see Giselle, CoCo, Tyra Banks, Adrianna Lima and the likes going into Hollywood. Many beauty pageant winners aren't successful either. It is the real actresses who have gone to performing arts school and shown keen interest in acting from an early age that gets the edge, the way it's supposed to be.

There are great actresses in hollywood who used to model. I remember watching David letterman with aish's interview he was telling about the same story of actresses use to model and became actress later and aish said, "yes same story." lol which means it's a common story with most actresses in hollywood also not just bolly

in bollywood it is much more blatant. Hollywood comes up with crappy movies and actors too but the percentage has been kept constant. Now bollywood, claiming to be the world's biggest film industry, can't we have a similar ratio?

OMG you are so right....it's really weird eeing so many Jews why is it they have a special thing for jews? Not that I have a problem but it shows a slight bias towards them🤔
