Kurbaan has taken a below par opening on its first day. Although the opening is decent at certain multiplexes, the film was expected to take a bigger start. Multiplexes started the day with 40-45% collections and went to around 55-60% in the afternoon. The evening shows should do better. Single screens have not shown a good response with collections in the 30-40% range for morning and afternoon shows. It will be important for the film to have a good first week as next week will see the release of biggie De Dana Dhan which will take away a lot of screen space from Kurbaan.

i wanted this......they didnt promote vivek na .....well deserved......and i also feel after new york majority of the ppl r thinking thei will be the same kinda movie and acc to em karan selected wrong month for the release

Thats really strange...movies like APKGK...Blue and all the shitty films open to full house and declared super hits.... the good ones are not appreciated... strange...

blue is declared a flop the film got a good opening but fall terribly after dat, the producers had a loss of more thn 50 crores.😲

I watched it online...it was BAD...don't know how it opened to packed houses...anyway...it was expected...

even APKGK was not good...the entire kar-ran chemistry was over hyped...and it was funny only in bits....but Ranbir was good.(People might hate me for this...a lot of people gave positive feedback on this forum)

even DBH was bad...it was too much of the same India-Pak, cricket, lame love crap....

I reckon Kurban will catch up...in in the weekend....

people these days are supporting comedies and not supporting good films like kurbaan i m not saying they should not support comedies bcuz i myself am waiting for one LOL but they should also support a good movie like kurbaan. I'm definitely going to the theaters n watching this week

I think there is a certain public reservation about seeing real-life couples acting together on screen. JWM was a hit after Shahid-KAreena boke up, all their previous ventures were duds. Vivek and Ash, even after all their real-life drama, couldn't make Kyun Ho gaya na a hit. Saif and KAreena's other movies were also flops. Katrina, who tuns every movie into a hit, gave her only flop in the last 2 years opposite Salman in Yuvraaj. I really can't think of any steady Bollywood couple giving a hit in the recent years.

So, I am not surprised by the average opening of Kurbaan. But, it can pick up in the weekend.
