I was only worried bcuz to most ppl any film with the same theme ends up looking the same or gives the chance to compare them left right and center. But youre right though SRKs name is enough to pull the crowd in the theatre 😃 plus Kajol with SRK is like the biggest plus factor.

MNIK is a serious movie but with a great touch of love, purity, innocence and a positive message of hope.....so it's not kurbaan.....Even if MNIK didn't do well in India I tell you it would do well all over the world with a distributor like Fox........Trust me on this.

And I'm sure MNIK promos won't focus on any "love scene"..because SRKajol isn't marketed as a "sexual glam jodi" with a flavour of scandal....like Saif-Bebo...They're more like an ideal standard....that everyone wants to see...and wants to like....

The audience isn't predictable I totally endorse your view but almost every Kat's movie is a hit so we can assume that the audience likes her as a celeb and as a hot babe but def. not as a talented actress.....She's not the only one...I remember a certain Marilyn Monroe that men desired and that women wanted to look like and she ended being a universal sex symbol...and she always played child silly naive women.....And all her movies are classics...She was the archetype of words "sensuality" and "desireable". The tragic end adds to the legend.

If there's any actor who can turn an average movie into a hit, it's SRK....

And according to indian reviewers who saw the trailer of MNIK and some sequences of the movie, MNIK is going to be huge...

soon we'll know, in the first week of december....

Couldnt agree more.. thr jodi is loved by everyone not just the younger generation.

When SRK promoted VZ in the french Virgin Megastore in Paris, he had to talk to the people because the crowd became undisciplined...They had to cancel the autographs session.

The security guards couldn't put up with the craziness of the french fans...there's a vid on ytube..It was the same when M.J used to come to France..Even Tom Cruise's visit was overshadowed by VZ first screening.....

I'm not worried at all...But I have high expectations for MNIK...

@ Lili- Well people know that SRK-Kajol are older now, so they dont expect running around gardens from them anymore. They know that the couple has matured so we should see something more mature and sensible from them in MNIK.

@4ever- Even if the movie is utter crap, it will still be the biggest blockbuster of the year. SRK hasnt had a proper movie since OSO now, people are dying to see him onscreen. Lets just hope that Karan doesnt promote it as a movie based on "terrorism." I think we've had enough of that. I think MNIK is more about stereotypes and racism than terrorism.

@ Lili's other post lol- People overseas are crazy about SRK's movies. A stampede almost happened outside in the lobby of the theater when VZ released here.

That's what people say, and it probably is true. I remember last year I was panicking before Rab Ne's release...also ofcourse, 26/11 had just happened. The movie went on to be huge...but I think it opened slow. That most probably was due to 26/11...but I dunno. I feel nowadays just having SRK in a movie won't be enough. Esp. when it's a serious drama. I mean, people have really lost it with movies like KI, APKGK (i did like that movie though!), GR etc opening so great just cause of their comedy theme. 😆
But yes, let's wait I suppose. I dont wanna say much anyway about the movie without watching its trailer.

You should watch "Germany in love with SRK".........you know guys y're lucky to have some stars like him and like Aish because they behave really well abroad......Aish's divaness is appreciated and SRK's jokes even more😆😆😆 than in India.....They show a great face of India...Kudos....

When SRK went to Berlin for the Berlinale (the version german of Cannes attempt😆) the fans were outta control...SRK gave some tickets freely to see OSO to two german girls they screamed like Godzilla on the vid...painful for my ears....They went crazy!!!!!😆😆😆

When he unveiled his wax statue in the Grevin Musee..God there are so many fans.....they had to call the army guys to protect SRK&co...because they were afraid that people did OTT stuff and for the shooting of DON when the french police knew that some indian movie stars was about to shoot in Paris they said "Oh plz not this SRK again, ..we're gonna have trouble with the fans" They remembered his name🥱

SRKajol running around gardens...some fans asked Karan if there was some Suraj hua madham sequence and he said no and the fans were disappointed big time LOL..am relieved that SHM remains unique and unmatched....

Back to the topic I hope Kurbaan will do well the next days because I think it's a good movie from what I've seen from the promos..But the thing is that Saif-Bebo is a real life couple so maybe less appealing, they are hyped but many people don't care about their jodi on and off screen...

The thing is that why when YRF does NY Dharma offers Kurbaan the same year...? Why NY after Fanaa....It's basically the same theme and they add nothing new except that Kat's character is ok with her hubby being a terrorist....Neil was very good along with Irfan Khan I must say....

As for MNIK Rizvan is mistaken for a terrorist or is being suspected to because his name's Khan and is muslim but he's not a terrorist at all..he's a hero and his power is love....so it's a movie with light and hope..Kurbaan is less poetic, a bit dark and realistic...MNIK is kinda like Forest Gump....or Big Fish....

Kurbaan's perf are praised so I guess it's the acting that matters..but in general with same movies theme people expect new things and Kurbaan didn't seem to reach that goal...

As some people on IF say I believe the marketing and the date release weren't the appropriate, but the same for RNBDJ&Kaminey..so perhaps people are too tired of serious movies this year...it's the end of the year///so people just want to laugh/

My friend went to watch it and she said she liked the movie and that Kareena looked really pretty then I asked her, was her theatre full and mind you this is one of Delhis best BIG theatres in South - Select CityWalk PVR Gold Class and she said it was a lil more than HALF full. Rearly is it the case at PVR Gold Class and this is one of them. Hopefully Kurbaan picks up next week.
