Most original scripts

Bolly is infamous for its script "inspriation" ways. I remember reading it somewhere that in 90's bolly directors used to take Dvds of holly movies and rip out the "original" scenes from the dvds and used to put them as it is.. in movies.. and I am talking about the actual footage..not the script copying but like taking the actual video from the movie and putting it in your movie.. Newayz.. admist all this there are some scripts in bolly that are original.. So can we start naming the ones that we "think" are original and maybe in the middle people will say oh tat is inspired which would further increase our knowlege about bolly. :)

was kaminey taken from a novel?

^No the idea for Kaminey came from a story writing workshop in Uganda that Mira Nair organised. At that point it was just the story of twins who hate each other. Vishal Bharadwaj developed it further. That writer was also credited. The final story of Kaminey is original though it has influences from 70s Bollywood and capers like Guy Ritchie and Tarantino films (Pulp Fiction in particular).

Some original films that have come out of Bollywood recently: Oye Lucky Lucky Oye, Khosla ka Ghosla, Gulaal, Luck By Chance, Firaaq, Mithya, Dasvidanya - these are just some examples. There are also some original bad films (or ones I think are bad) but I am not mentioning them.

Then there is a film like No Smoking (which is unlike any other Bollywood film I have seen) but it has influences from Quitters Inc and Cat's Eye, but the final product is still very different from these source materials.

Rajshri remakes a lot of their own films. Main Prem Ki Diwani Hoon was a remake of Chitchor and I can't remember what the original was called but HAHK was also a remake.
