Btw Flav, thanks for the topic. It took some brains and a few mins to read what you wrote and not just choosing poll options or this fav. actor, song, movie etc.

going off topic , bt still i wud luv to mention that IF bolly fans r much better n r just fans! nt fanatics.. if we go to the TV forums , i guess ppl just bash up each other with slightest disagreement and abusing is a part n parcel of being in those forums! and rip apart ..

I really don't know how people come to that conclusion since we hardly know these people. If tomorrow Ranbir and Deepika break-up I don't think I will care and go around hating Ranbir or his fans.

That line of argument is something I never understood. People claiming that X and Y shouldn't be together because "I" don't think they are good for each other. 😳

I think that is the kind of emotion or argument which leads some fans to believe that their favourite star is only suitable for them and then do the kind of stuff your cousin did Pari. I remember there was an 11 (or so) year old girl on RKF who called herself "Neetu Kapoor's underage Bahu" and the other Ranbir fans encouraged her and told her stuff like "age doesn't matter" and all we have to do is meet Ranbir and then we could convince him to dump Deepika for one of us. Some of them might have been joking but a lot of them seemed serious.

I think even here the fans distinguish. Like some ppl wud generally say that we dont think they are so good looking together or other reason as their opinion. But then there are those who go out of the way to seperate them and bash them to death and those are the kinds who shudnt be appreciated.
Like the one 11 year old girl and whoever supported her, they fall in the latter category. And then there are people who give comments as viewers and not fanatics who wud fall in the former category.

I think even the credit of this kinda percentage of zealous fans shud be given to IF.

Fanaticism on IF is zilch in comparison to the insanity that occurs in most pro-Twilight forums. I swear, some of the fans in the Twilight fandom are the craziest people I've ever had the misfortune of interacting with. For instance, try visiting the "TwiMoms" forums, for mothers (many of them in their mid-thirties) who read Twilight, and post something that doesn't praise RPattz. I assure you that you will be stunned by the amount of responses that threaten you, your family, your friends, curse you, decry your mental status etc - that is if you aren't banned for presenting a perspective that doesn't drool over RPattz "Adonis-like" features. Nuttymadam on Youtube, who isn't a mother but definitely NOT a teen, is a priceless example of this - a few laughs are certain if your brain cells don't commit suicide. Criticizethe author (Stephenie Meyer), her books or Robert Pattison and just see her response. They are one of the reasons I think the term "fangirl" is not entirely accurate because many older woman exhibit such over-enthusiastic behaviour as well which I guess proves that maturity doesn't necessarily come with age.

LOL!!! As the Rohit guy of BB3 says, "Spare me the Horror".

This reminds of the times wen Iqbal Khans wife and his FANGIRLS(the term was coined till then, thank u and great word to whoever coined it) used to bash Neha Bamb on IF itself and few MODs were involved too. And the kind of bashing that went on OI.com, that is OnlyIqbal.com is amazing. So coming to the point, tell me if you have seen this kind of FANGIRL:--
This lady who was on IF-Kaisa Yeh Pyaar Hai show, 40 years old mind you, lol, she used to like Neha Bamb until the lead guys wife showed up and she turned sides to her and it went to the extent of her liking the couple, the lead guy and his wife and she showed so much chamchagiri towards them, she ended being invited to their marriage and she EVEN went to their marriage from USA to India. Now thats FANLADY.
LOL!!!

nice topic..!!
i think the maximum craze for any actor is when he's @ the top of his form, looks wise, and films wise..thats when he recieves maximum adulation...then of course their "single" status gives a lot of values to speculatins and gossips, which people, inc me enjoy..!!...and,oh their always loyalists of any acotr, and certainly hrithik or aamir has got more fans than shahid or ranbir or imran, but maybe the age-group differs...and oh,though i dont say it too often,i'll always be a hrithik fan before any one else...:)

Aren't a lot of fans of a certain TV Doctor also in their thirties? I have heard some interesting stories about fan-dom in theTV-section of IF and compared to that this place sounds like heaven.

Sticking to bollywood though because I don't want this thread to get closed, I think it is interesting that there is such a difference between comments made about Shahid-Kareena-Saif on YT and what happens on Shahid's forum.

Comparing that to the Ranbir-Deepika-Sonam triangle I found that comments on RKF to be very similar to the ones on youtube. I wonder why?
