Why there are not many Gujarati people in Bollywood?

Recently, I saw a Gujarati actor in Crime Patrol and I find him very attractive. Then, I wonder why there aren’t many Gujarati people in Bollywood because they look similar to Punjabi people and maximum Bollywood actors actresses are Punjabi. I only know Amisha Patel, her brother Ashmit Patel, Tina Munin, Dimple Kapadia, Sharman Joshi and Jackie Shroff that are from Gujarat. The Gujarati people are usually wealthy. So why they are not seen much in Bollywood? I understand that there are not many South Indian actors actresses in Bollywood because they have different cultures from Bollywood but Marathi, Bihari and Gujarati has similar cultures as the Punjabi because they are all from North India. So why there are not much people in Bollywood from these ethnicities, especially Gujarati people?

The ones that are there in Bollywood are not that good. Like Daisy Shah and Himesh Reshammiya. But you have fantastic character actors (who mostly do TV) like Ratna and Supriya Pathak, Manoj Joshi, Satish Shah, Paresh Rawal, Dilip Joshi, Disha Vakani etc.

TV has a lot of Gujju actors. A lot of the Khichdi and Sarabhai cast was gujju and what good actors. Many from the Kyunki Saas cast were also gujjus.

Also most of them are trained actors from theatre.

I just got to know Sanjeev Kumar was Gujarati.

Film industry me bhi reservation hona chahiye (including reservations for Marathi, Gujarati, North East etc.).

Pratik Gandhi from Scam 1992 is a gujju

Sorry still trying to get over you saying Gujjus look similar to Punjabis.. 🤣 there is zero similarity, neither looks nor culturally. Also, I always thought they are West Indian not North 😬

Coming back to the question, I think it's because Gujratis tend to focus more on pursuing financially stable jobs rather than thinking about entering the entertainment industry.

I find it more shocking that Bollywood is based out of Mumbai and Bollywood has not seen a male star who is Marathi. Ironically the Marathi who became a huge superstar is Rajnikanth but in Tamil cinema.
