Bigg Boss kicks out Anupama welcomes Rakhi

The latest news is that Anupama Verma is out of the Big Bosse's show and Rakhi Sawant has managed an entry courtesy the wild card option. The one time pop sensation was voted out of the show and is the sixth contestant to be shown the door. The others of the ilk being Deepak Parashar, Rakhi Sawant, Kashmira Shah, Aryan Vaid and Bobby Darling.

A source from the channel confirms that "Anupama expressed mixed feelings about the latest development. She's happy for the reason that she will celebrate the Christmas and New Year's eve with friends and family but at the same time would miss the drama that will unfold with the coming back of Rakhi Sawant."

Anupama's romantic fling with Aryan Vaid in the show had created a lot of interest around the duo. Since Aryan was ousted last week and now Anupama follows, the possibility of them brewing some more gossip is sure to happen.

Rakhi's comeback would definitely add to the spice of the show. The other point of interest would be her relation with other contestants especially Amit Sadh with whom she has an old score to settle.

With the queen of the "Item" world re-entering the show the next big question in the Bigg house is----Who's the next one to go?

I€™ve had enough artificiality to last me a lifetime

Anupama Verma is relieved at being eliminated from Bigg Boss.

Subhash K Jha

Aryan Vaid's departure from Bigg Boss was a big blow for Anupama Verma. With no one to fall back on in that cloistered environment, her subsequent departure was her happiest moment. Anupama says, "I desperately wanted to come out. Of course, I missed Aryan and wanted to be with him. The ambience in there was a killer. Rival groups had formed and I was not party to any of them. All the people I liked — Deepak Parasherji, Bobby Darling, Kashmira Shah, Rakhi Sawant - they were all gone. I felt like Guru Dutt singing Bichde sabhi bari-bari …."

Free at last: Aryan and Anupama

What was the high point at the conclusion of her miserable existence in there? "When Rakhi Sawant came back to Karjat dressed like Santa Claus. I don't know what image she projects. But she's a good-hearted girl and she really loves me. As Santa she gave chocolates to others. I was the only one who got a teddy-bear from her. Another very good human being was Bobby Darling. I cried like a baby when Bobby left. Funny, but the two girls I feared the most, Rakhi and Kashmira, turned out to be friends. And Carol who I thought was my friend, made me miserable. I don't know what her problem was. As models, she's a ramp girl while I'm a photo-model. So there can be no rivalry there. I think she didn't like my being friendly with Ravi Kissen."

Anupama doesn't share Aryan's disdain for Kissen. "Honestly, Ravi was good to me right from the start. Though Aryan told me he has a colourful image Ravi was always a gentleman with me, so much so that yesterday he said he was hesitant about giving me a hug. After Aryan left Ravi and Deepak were my pillars of support."

Aryan's eviction made Anupama realise how much she missed him. "I had a life waiting for me outside. I was genuinely distressed in there. Of course, Aryan's absence made me realise how much he mattered to me. He was like an angel God had sent to take care of me in that strange place," she admits.

After being evicted from the show, Anupama admits her fiercely private nature was threatened by the constant camera attention. She says, "I was the wrong person in the right place. I'm the kind of person who always shies away from controversies and link-ups. Every morning I'd pray that Aryan wouldn't be evicted. He showered so much love and respect on me. When he left, leave I consoled myself, saying God must have a plan. In that one month in Karjat I got to know as much about Aryan as I'd have in six months, normally."

So when are the two getting married? "It's too early to say. Right now I'm too disoriented. That I'm close to him is undeniable. Right now I need to get back to the normal world. When John Abraham visited us on Thursday I started crying. That's how starved I was in there for company. I've had enough artificiality in there to last me a lifetime," she says.

Would she ever want to be part of the show again? "No way, never again!" she exclaims.

Rahul was always insecure and undependable'
By: Upala KBR

Maker and his munnas: Mahesh Bhatt, Deepak Tijori and Rahul Roy

Filmmaker Mahesh Bhatt introduced Rahul Roy and Deepak Tijori to Bollywood with Aashiqui in 1990. So we cornered him into giving us some dope about the friends-turned-rivals on Sony's reality show, Bigg Boss.

Do you watch Big Boss?
Yes, in bits and pieces. It's an unusual show. It's different from the soaps as the body language is different. It's a relief to see people behaving normally.

Has you observed any difference in Rahul and Deepak's personality today?
No, I didn't seem to notice any difference in them since Aashiqui till now. Back then too, Rahul always had this mask of control and was undependable while Deepak was very warm and affectionate. Rahul always pretended to be in control even when he was not.

Is Rahul as manipulative as he appears in Bigg Boss?
I don't think so. If he was manipulative, his career would have been handled better. Maybe he's learnt a couple of lessons in Bigg Boss. But there was a continuous insecurity in his mind and heart — whether he would live to make another film after Aashiqui. He couldn't take the stress and sometimes just gave up. During Aashiqui's release, he just collapsed at home till Deepak and I pulled him out. It was to difficult for him to face judgment, but ultimately all his fears vanished when Aashiqui became a hit.

How did you choose Deepak and Rahul for Aashiqui?
Paresh Rawal sent Deepak to me, asking if I could give him a chance. Rahul's mother, a UNICEF executive, met me and gave pictures of him saying he wanted to act. I liked the pictures so I cast him.

How were they on the sets?
They appeared to be best friends, but I was never convinced. They were buddies but there was always rivalry between them. Rahul knew that I looked upon Deepak as the better actor, while Deepak knew Rahul was the star of the film and he was just a sidekick. In spite of the friendship, there was also a constant animosity. In Bollywood, there are no friends, only companions.

Who was more insecure out of the two?
Rahul. He had a problem with the lead actress, Anu Agarwal. He thought she would get a better deal since he assumed Anu and I were having a relationship. But it was a ghost in his mind. Rahul never told me but it was apparent in his stiff behaviour. He had insecurity painted all over his face. But when the film released he got accolades for it.

Did they complain about each other?
They dared not, as right in the beginning I had made it clear I wouldn't allow any bitching behind people's backs. If they bitched, I would tell!

Who do you like more?
Deepak is a darling. He has tremendous control over his emotions, has seen highs and lows and doesn't bitch or pass judgments. Deepak is shy but a warm, easy-going guy. Rahul has a veneer of control and conceals much more than he really is. It's easy to talk to Deepak as he's truthful. I don't have favourites but if I was taking a flight to nowhere and given a choice of companion, I would take Deepak.

Rakhi and the Bhatts

Mahesh Bhatt adds, "Yesterday morning, I got an SMS from Rakhi (Sawant) asking for my blessings as she was re-entering Big Boss again. Pooja and I have kept in touch with her and have been encouraging her. It's not easy to be Rakhi Sawant and hold your forte. I've always supported the brave and the lonely."

After Aryan Vaid was booted out of Bigg Boss, the hardest hit seems to be his so called friend/girl friend Anupama Verma. His exit leaves Anupama alone to deal with people whom she doesn't get along (read Carol, Roopali and rival Ragini). In fact, she herself admitted that if Aryan goes, she will be left with no support system and it will be difficult for her to stay on. Now it seems in her desperation, she might just get friendly with the other guys in the House and try hanging on as long as she can.

It might get easier for Anupama in a way, since there is a lot of rivalry amongst the guys on the show too. Ravi Kisshen and Amit Sadh have major problems with friends Deepak Tijori and Rahul Roy. Also it's become more than evident that Deepak Tijori plays a lot of games but always manages to project himself as a nice guy. That's how he has managed to win the confidence of Anupama and Ragini. He has been bad-mouthing Roopali, Ravi and even Rahul Roy! Deepak's smart game might change a lot of equations in Bigg Boss House. In the process Anupama might just get lucky somewhere. (Sampurn)

Anu is the woman I want to spend my life with

Aryan Vaid on Anupama Verma

Back to Section Stories

Subhash K Jha

After their 'close encounter' in Bigg Boss was relayed all over the country, Aryan Vaid wants his relationship with Anupama Verma to be a private affair, away from the spotlight.

In the wee hours of Friday, Aryan was woken up and driven down to Karjat. "I was told nothing about why I was required there at the Bigg Boss house. Frankly I thought I had put those days behind me. I was just getting my life back to normal. And the whole Bigg Boss experience appeared incredibly distant and unreal."

But the channel had other plans. "They brought me to Karjat and quarantined me, not allowing me to converse with anyone. Later a friend called to tell me that Anupama had been evicted. That's how I came to know why I was wanted there. I guess they wanted a big reunion scene between Anupama and me. But my days of playing out our relationship in front of the cameras are over. Anu and I need to get out of the bizarre situation that the whole Bigg Boss experience created in our heads. We need to give the relationship space to see where it goes."

Does this mean Aryan is having second thoughts about the relationship? "Not at all. I'm very clear that Anu is the woman I want to spend my life with. Whether she feels the same about me is the question. Anu needs to sort out her feelings and see if she feels the same affection for me outside the whole unreality of reality television or not."

Dhamaal with John Abraham
Whew! What a tohfa Bigg Boss got for the housemates. It was John Abraham – the heartthrob of millions packed inside a gift-wrapped cardboard box. Today the girls were dressed as belly dancers and the house was filled with the aroma of kebabs. The housemates had turned the house into sher-e-Bigg Boss - a restaurant where lazeez daawat was prepared for a special occasion. Although, everybody was clueless about what the occasion is. The housemates were busy cooking when they discovered a huge gift-wrapped cardboard box lying in the room. Roopali and Carol shrieked with excitement as John Abraham emerged out of it. The girls served him with kebabs and performed belly dance for him. Later, the gang had a wild time dancing with the good-looking visitor. Wild time in the swimming pool The gang went on dancing wildly with John for a long time. In the end, out of intense excitement Ravi and Amit dived into the swimming pool. Rahul also joined them. Deepak, who is scared of the water, was pushed inside by John. Finally even John jumped in and they all had a great time splashing around like kids in the water. John leaves an amazing gift for the gang As John came out of the pool, the girls served him with tea. Bigg Boss had asked him to rate the food and the ambience of the house. John was so thrilled to meet the contestants that he rated the food as excellent. He said the entertainment was more than excellent and the ambience of the house very good. He could feel the positive energy inside. He promised to convey the messages of the housemates to their loved ones and said the person who is 'natural' will win the game. The gang jelled so well with John that it seemed like he is one of the housemates. Even John said that given a chance, he would love to stay back. He was quite a sport throughout. He gave the housemates his own insights about the show and teased Roopali for her habit of crying at the drop-of-a-hat. He was also surprised to see Carol speak in Hindi. John walked out, and left back an amazing gift for the housemates. What was it? It was tickets for his latest film "Kabul Express". There was a special screening of the film in the house, and everybody watched it with enthusiasm. In the end, Carol admitted that this was the best Hindi film she ever saw, as usually she prefers watching English films. Rakhi is back! All the contestants were sitting before the TV when Arshad asked Amit to go to the door and receive a visitor. Clueless, Amit walked up to the door and was surprised to see Santa Claus walking in. Santa came straight into the house, and went into the blue room. All the housemates followed Santa and started shouting "you're Rakhi", for she is the one who does all the 'nautanki! Finally, Arshad asked Santa to reveal herself. Yes, everybody guessed it right. It was Rakhi Sawant - the wild-card entry into the house. She was received with great applause. Anupama looked the happiest as she hugged her with joy. She told Bigg Boss that now she doesn't want to be evicted. Anupama eliminated, Aryan comes to receive her It came as quite a shock for everyone! After Aryan, Anupama was eliminated from the house this week. Arshad supplied the five contestants with five envelopes, and asked them to open it one by one. As Ragini opened the envelope she found the message 'safe' written on it. Roopali, Rahul and Deepak received the same message, except for Anupama. She read out the word 'evicted,' from the envelope and looked quite shocked. The first thing she did as she got up her seat was hug Rakhi. She said goodbye to everyone and headed towards the door. There was a surprise waiting for her as she went up the stage to meet Arshad. Anupama couldn't believe her eyes as she saw Aryan walking up the stage. Both hugged each other with joy. He had come to receive her and looked quite happy as Anupama is out of the house now!

We guess the second part of this love story begins from here. Wish the camera could follow them home!

John's visit, Rakhi's re-entry and Anupama's exit
John's surprise visit: Can you guess who visited the house this time around? It was none other than the heartthrob of millions - John Abraham. He emerged before the housemates from a gift-wrapped cardboard box. Everybody had a gala time belly dancing and cracking jokes with John. In the end, John joined the guys in the swimming pool.

Rakhi's back: The excitement of John's visit was still in the air when the inmates found Santa Claus walking in. Arre yeh kya? It turned out that it was not Santa but Rakhi Sawant, the wild card entrant to the house. She was received with open arms by all the housemates.

Anupama exits: An exciting week in which as many as five contestants were nominated for eviction ended with Anupama being voted out of the house by the audience. Probably, she might find Aryan waiting for her at the door

The house of Bigg Boss had an early Christmas surprise when Rakhi walked back into the house as the wildcard entry on the show last week.
But after the cheer and goodwill of her initial welcome, things are looking a little icy again. It seems the item girl just cannot help but rub people the wrong way, says Sowmya Rajaram.
The forthright girl brought the occupants gifts of her own accord, but told them that they were from their loved ones. But today, when the others can't find any messages from their families on the presents, they misunderstand Rakhi and start suspecting her intentions. This leads to a cold war between her and everyone in the house.
Rakhi is now sidelined and has to listen to everybody gossip about her. And if that wasn't bad enough, the poor girl is also suspected of being Bigg Boss's spy or 'sutradhar' in the house. Well Rakhi, looks like you would have been better off outside!
Deepak spits fire against Roopali, wondering why she wants to change years of a friendship to a brother-sister bond once inside the house. Rahul, in his quiet style, counters that saying Roopali is immature and does not deserve much attention.
Then Deepak confronts him about his 'Babaism', to which Rahul responds that he was given that title by others in the house.
And thus the wall between the two friends came down, with some bitching and blame shifting. Back to the game, people.

Bigg Boss Day 43: Everybody is thrilled to get Rakhi back
It seems Rakhi was dying to come back to the house. She looked so excited and happy today that we could make out how upset she must have been when she was thrown out of the house. Rakhi told everybody that even while she was with Abhishek, she was praying to come back to the house. Everyone was curious about what was going on in the world outside. Firstly, Rakhi gave them messages from their relatives and then narrated the popularity of the show. She said that Bigg Boss was the number one show in the country and people of all ages watch it with great enthusiasm. Even Ragini was a star and was famous across the country! Ragini blushed! Later, in the blue room, an emotional Ravi quizzed her about what the audience felt about him. Rakhi told him that he was a star now. Everybody loved him, especially the people in UP and Bihar. It was time that he ventured from Bhojpuri to Hindi movies. Ravi had tears in his eyes as he heard this. Later, he looked relieved when Rakhi told him that his wife and children were also fine and that they were receiving a lot of calls from his fans. Amit cries like a baby!: Amit, the angry man of the house, was feeling depressed today. We had noticed a sad look in his eyes since Arshad told him that Neeru had not sent any message for him. Today, he was quite restless from the morning. He broke his silence to Rahul and asked him that why Arshad said that he looked bimar and 'aggressive' all the time. Was the public getting a wrong picture of him? What was his image outside? Rahul consoled him by saying that he had the best image in the house because he had not been nominated even once. But poor Amit broke down. Howling like a baby, he hugged Rahul and said that he was worried about what was going on. He was getting negative vibes from everybody. Deepak makes Amit more suspicious: Deepak can be real mean sometimes. He knew Amit's state of mind but he still told him that he felt something was wrong in Amit's life. An anxious Amit asked him what was he talking about. Deepak said that he had a feeling that something was wrong with Neeru—otherwise she would have sent a message through Arshad. Even Rakhi didn't bring any message from her. Amit was very nervous and wanted to go out of the house immediately.

Amit is panic-stricken: Amit was restless now. He ran to Rakhi and asked her to come out of the blue room and talk to him. He asked her if everything was all right with Neeru. Rakhi looked at him silently for a few seconds. It really looked as if she was hiding something. But then she told him that she had spoken to Neeru on the phone and everything was fine. Amit didn't believe her and pestered her to tell him more. Rakhi asked him to wait and came back with a greeting card Neeru had sent him. But nothing was written on it! Amit became even more suspicious. The poor guy was in tears and wanted to leave the show because nothing was more important to him than from Neeru. Bhai, itne saare majnu kaha se aa gaye is ghar mein?

Jhatkas and Matkas: Ravi Kissen struts his stuff providing an amusing display to Carol at Bigg Boss's house

After Rakhi's re-entry into the house, it is now time for another breath of air (we are not sure if it's fresh) to hit the house at Karjat. The latest addition to the souls locked up inside the house of Bigg Boss makes his appearance on the show tonight, reports Sowmya Rajaram.
Hidden by a monkey cap and a circus eye mask, the masked man sits inside the confession room unknown to everyone in the house. Bigg Boss takes his former spy Ragini into confidence to keep this new entrant's presence in the house a secret.
Anyway, the masked man keeps asking for favours from the already harrowed girl, who has to find excuses to run into the confession room every five minutes. Saying that her microphone is giving her trouble, Ragini scurries in and out of the confession room to everyone's amusement.
Finally, she disappears inside with a cup of black coffee, saying that she has a headache.
Bigg Boss's newest task for the inmates is bound to keep everyone on their toes, quite literally. All the inmates are assigned a song from Sunday to Wednesday, which they have to dance to, whenever it is played, be it day or night.
Everyone is given a prop that he or she needs to use creatively while dancing. In the allotted 60 seconds to do all this, everyone also has to pick a dance partner.
Naturally, item girl Rakhi is the happiest, showing off her jhatkas and matkas, but it is Ravi who steals the show with his mis-timed sense of when to take a bath or jump into the pool.
He finds himself shaking to the tune of 'Aao twist karein' at the most inopportune times either bang in the middle of a bath or a dip in the pool complete with dripping shorts and a wet towel. If that won't have you roaring with laughter, we don't know what else will.
