Kashmera Shah to do a Marathi film

Kashmera Shah, a Bigg Boss contestant and Bollywood actress, has now finished her first Marathi film Aavahan which will be released next week all over Maharashatra. Kashmera is playing the lead role in the movie.

Kashmera spoke to us about her role. "I'm playing the role of a rural woman called Malinga who is from Hyderabad. She is road worker and works for her husband as he is workless. I like to do films which are based on a social cause though I'm commercial actor. These types of films provide you the opportunity to do social awareness for women's problems. That's why I acted in film like Jungle and Revathi."

"One of the strangest parts of the movie is that inspite of it being a Marathi film I didn't speak Marathi in this film. However speaking Marathi is not a problem for me as my mother is Goan and I speak to her in Konkani which is similar to Marathi. But all my cousins talk in Marathi with me. So I can speak Marathi fluently," adds Kashmera.

Kashmera had a recent English film release called My Bollywood Bride but is unable to secure decent offers in Bollywood. "I think people were confused about whether I was in India or not because of my husband. That's why they didn't offer me roles. But now they know that I'm here and my divorce is taking place and I'll remain here so now I'm getting the offers. I'm currently shooting for a Hindi film called Sartaj with new actors and a new director where I'm playing role of a tomboy whose boyfriend is a member of the underworld and how she helps her boyfriend turn positive. We have just started shooting for the film. It will release by the end of this year," says the actress.

However, whether as an actress or as a member of the Bigg Boss house, controversy is not very far behind Kashmera ever. Recently her growing friendship with actor Govinda's nephew, Tushar, has her once agin in the spotlight for the wrong reasons. But Kashmera says there is nothing there for people to already create a controversy.

"I'm fond of Tushar. After my divorce I think we'll get time to know each other more. I have a soft corner for him. But only after my divorce will I go ahead with my relationship with him. Marriage is definitely not on the cards right now. I'm getting out one relationship so getting into another is not easy for me. Further for marriage a guy should also be ready. He has supported me emotionally during my divorce. He is a nice guy. We require some time to know each other. So let's see what happens next," says Shah.

Kashmera's recently release is Pappu Pass Ho Gaya with Jackie Shroff. Kashmera has also done many item songs for many films. Her first film was Yes Boss with Shah Rukh Khan.

Ravi chala model banne…

Kissen plans to walk the ramp once again in the future, this time with a chiselled body!

By: Tushar Joshi

Ravi Kissen raised quite a few eyebrows recently, when he arrived at a fashion event over the weekend dressed in a purple jacket and a pink singlet. Kissen was the chief guest at an event meant to showcase the designs of fashion students at the India International Trade Centre (IITC). What's more, Ravi even walked the ramp at the event!
Ab talk
Talking about his experience of walking the ramp, he says, "I was cheered on by everyone, as they were quite stunned to see me on stage. It felt really good to walk the ramp, where so many goodlooking models had walked before."
Does he plan to take modelling seriously? "Why not? I love doing different things. I am planning on working on my abs now and acquire a six-pack. Once that happens, I will walk the ramp again, this time bare-chested!" he says, grinning.
Ravi also rubbed shoulders with veteran actor Dharmendra at the event. "I have worked with him before, so it was nice to get his blessings. He still looks so good and has maintained himself really well."
Spidey's web
Kissen, who recently dubbed for the Bhojpuri version of Spiderman 3, says he's thrilled at the response the film has been getting in Bihar. "They have used half of my picture on the posters there. I soon plan to work in a film where I get superpowers like Spiderman. It will be Spiderman in a dhoti. Dubbing for the English film made me think of this idea," he says.
Apart from Ravi, other celebs who attended the fashion show included Maaninee Misshra, Karishma Tanna and Jassi Kaur.

Amit Sadh's back home in Punjab

The rebellious actor, who at the age of 21 left home to come to Mumbai, is resting in his house after a typhoid relapse.

ROSHNI K OLIVERA

Just a few years ago he was a rebel to the core. But times have changed. "I have mellowed now," admits Amit Sadh. "Time teaches you so much. Yes I was a rebel six years ago. But, the whole world has changed in six years. Why not Amit sadh?"
At 21 this rebel had also left home and come to Mumbai, but now he's back. "I'm at home in Punjab right now. I'm very relaxed. I am recuperating from typhoid right now," Amit told BT yesterday.
Amit was down with typhoid some time ago and had to be hospitalised for a few days in Mumbai. However he got back to work soon after he was discharged. That agggravated the situation. "Because of my hectic schedule I fell ill again. I had a relapse. Now I'm here recuperating."
But he is feeling better and should be back in Mumbai in two weeks. Partner Neeru Bajwa is also with him and the couple's been catching up on a lot of movies at home.

On the work front, post Bigg Boss, Amit was seen in Sony's Durgesh Nandini. However recently he quit the show. "My character in the show was important. But I had to take a break because I was advised bed rest for a few weeks. I couldn't have been missing for almost a month and half. So they had to put somebody else in my place," he reasons.

Did the Bigg Boss stint help him in his career? "It was a learning experience. I learnt a lot. I got a lot of appreciation from people who saw me on the show. However, whether it has helped me in my career is difficult to say. Basically, I don't evaluate things in that manner."

Suits me just fine

Springing A Quick One? Kabir Khan and Makrand Deshpande
If you thought Bigg Boss crybaby Ragini had disappeared post the Sony reality show, here's proof that she's still on Mumbai's party whirl;

She was in the thick of things at the Budweiser launch at the Hard Rock Caf, Worli.

Not too long ago, Ragini had admitted that she harboured theatre aspirations and had even acted in a play,

so it was no wonder that she constantly hovered around Alyque Padamsee!

What's more, Ragini was all suited with a tie to boot!
Gimme A Role, Somebody! Ragini

Directors Kabir Khan and Makrand Deshpande remained by each other's side.

What's with that patch of flowers on Kabir's tee?

Spring is in the air, is it, Mr Khan?

Our situation is completely different this time

Shilpa Shetty failed to recognise Jade Goody when they met on Saturday

Subhash K Jha

Jade Goody with Shilpa Shetty

Jade Goody who turned Shilpa Shetty's life in the UK reality show Big Brother into a living hell by teasing, provoking
and racially abusing her, met Shilpa again at the shoot of Bigg Boss on Saturday. But, there was disappointment for those who expected heavy fireworks

For starters, Shilpa failed to recognise Jade Goody. Although post Big Brother, Shilpa was heard saying that she has forgiven Jade despite being bullied mercilessly, was Shilpa's cold treatment a deliberate attempt by the actress to get back at Jade?

Shilpa who is uncomfortable about the weird experience of running into her tormentor under such peculiar and ironical circumstances laughs and says, "Never even in my wildest nightmare did I imagine that I would meet Jade Goody again! To top it, Jade had changed her appearance completely. During Big Brother, she had short black hair, but now she has long, blonde hair. I just could not recognise this scared, shaking woman as the same person who had taken me on for 10 days, hitting out at me and saying things like 'Go back to your slums'. That had really hit home."

"I mean in the UK, Jade was the celebrity inmate on Big Brother. She had become an overnight star after her first appearance on Big Brother. When I came into the show it was the second time for Jade. And she was the cynosure of the British viewers," adds Shilpa.

Jade's racist slur against Shilpa became an international political and cultural issue. From being a reality show queen, Jade had become a disgraced contestant who had bought shame to the country.

The tables have turned now. Although Jade is still an inmate, Shilpa has moved on to become the host of the show. Shilpa recollects her meeting with Jade. She says, "Believe me I had no malice towards Jade when I met her once again on Saturday. Our situation is completely different this time. While I am a free bird hosting the show, she is an inmate where she will have to stay with Indians who I fear might be hostile to her because of how she had misbehaved with me.

To my relief, the innate Indian warmth and hospitality shone through and no one made Jade feel unwanted. I felt happy about that because I have forgiven Jade. And I quite sympathise with her. I don't think she meant to insult our country and culture. But in trying to hit out at me, she ended up making statements that offended Indians and Asians all over the world. I don't think Jade knew what she was starting."

Going back to the time when she first heard Jade Goody was coming to Bigg Boss 2, Shilpa says, "I was shocked when I learnt that Jade was going to be on the show. Why should someone want to go through this again? But then I was also happy to know she was coming to our country. This is an opportunity to show her true Indian hospitality and how warm and welcoming we are."

Whether she is a winner on the show or not, Shilpa hopes that Jade goes back to England with a better image of India than she had when they were participants in Big Brother. "When I came out of Big Brother, everyone's perceptions of Indians had changed for the better. I hope Jade learns about the beauty of Indian culture. She has gone in as someone with misconceptions about our country. I hope she comes out enriched and enlightened about us Indians," adds Shilpa.
