'Stop Aryan Vaid to keep Sex out'

If the Sony channel heads are serious about keeping sex out of Bigg Boss they better act now. Because the intimacy levels within the house are rising at a dangerous speed.

Aryan Vaid, definitely the most sought-after male on the precinct, has been dithering suggestively between the Tamil actress Ragini and Anupama Verma. He takes a deep breath in the episode to be aired tomorrow and proposes marriage to Anupama while Ragini is away.

Vaid isn't the only one getting a severe case of the hots. Bobby Darling has zeroed in on Salil Ankola as her ideal man. In fact Bobby tells Salil's wife on camera that she has a major crush on Salil. Bobby says Salil's wife is his Vidya Balan.

Participating in the reality show has been a real tough task for Carol Gracias as well. Insiders reveal that the chain-smoker is finding it hard to stay away from cigarettes and finds the 'Bigg Boss' house almost like a rehabilitation centre. But the glam girl has no qualms about doing household chores with a smile.

Ragini, in the meanwhile, seems to have lost the other contestants' trust. For some reason it's being whispered that Ragini is the Bigg Boss' moll. Suddenly the girl is being shunned by the entire team.

Aryan Vaid and Ravi Kissen have hit it off big time. On Wednesday night they are seen sharing girlfriend talk. Soon they realize they had been dating the same girl simultaneously.

Bobby or Deepak Parasher are expected to be eliminated this week.

I have been living in America for the last two years. I came down just to watch Aryan on the show. Unfortunately, I didn't get to meet him before he got locked up in there. But I have been glued to the television watching his antics each day. His nephew has also taken to the show and keeps saying "Sonu mama dekho kya kar rahein hai." I think his flirting with Ragini and Anupama is healthy and he has no bad intentions.

Who should be voted out: I think Deepak Parasher.

All of us have been missing Rakhi. She's the jaan of the family. In fact, my mom starts crying each time Rakhi comes on screen. I am confident that she will win. She's an excellent cook and told me that she wanted to make gaajar halwa for everyone on the show.

Who should be voted out: I think Deepak should go. He's too old, and Bobby should be given another chance. After Rakhi, she's the only real star on the show.

I have been extremely busy with the Lakm Fashion Week, so I've had no time to watch the show. But I've heard the feedback from friends who have seen Carol on the show. She spoke to me before going into the house and was quite excited with the idea.

Who should be voted out: I will catch the show and tell you.

Since Anupama's an easygoing person, she won't have a problem making friends. I was amused with Aryan proposing marriage to her. In fact, I got calls from relatives asking me if it was true that they are settling down! I had to tell them that it was all in good fun.

Who should be voted out: I think Deepak should go.

My biggest worry is how he will cook food for himself. Also, he's obsessed with work. He talks about films even in his sleep. For someone who has been a workaholic all his life, it's difficult to shut oneself in a house. He's taking his own time opening up to the others. My kids want him to come back a winner. My only issue with the show is that they should let the family visit the contestants on weekends.

Who should be voted out: I think Deepak Parasher should go as he's too bossy.

I think Rupali was a bit nervous in the first few episodes. I think the reason she broke down is because she wanted Bobby Darling to win the money for her sex change operation. Rupali is very emotional. She is also a good cook. It was very sweet to watch her use the chakki and make chapattis. I don't know what will happen in the coming days, but I am sure Rupali will face every challenge with determination.

Who should be voted out: I think Deepak should go because the majority of the people don't want him there.

I think Amit is feeling out of place. He probably didn't expect to get locked up with the people he's sharing the house with. I miss him a lot but I hope he has fun in the house. He's a tough guy, but at the same time he will move out if he doesn't feel comfortable. Before going, he told me that he wants to take each day as it came and play the game.

Who should be voted out: I want Deepak out.

I have a gut feeling that Bobby will win the show. He needs the money more than anyone else. I think people are passing judgments on him too soon. He is an excellent cook but never gets a chance to make food for others. I hope people open up and get to see the real Bobby Darling.

Who should be voted out: Deepak will go. I am very sure about it.

Rahul is a very sensitive guy and takes time to open up to people. It's sad that everyone is making judgments about each other in a matter of days. I think Rahul has everything in him to stay in the house till the end. He is hard working and knows how to operate in a group.

Who should be voted out: I think Bobby Darling should go because he's too sensitive. Deepak should be given a second chance as he's making sure the house is in order.

I don't know what will happen to Ragini. She is not an actress but an assistant director, so she's mostly been behind the camera. She is a very popular face in the South and has also done some theatre. She's an intelligent girl, and I am sure she will be able to take care of herself. Her Hindi is not that good but she can comfortably communicate in it. After watching Kashmera and others grill her, I was worried about what they would do to her. I just hope she takes care of herself.

Who should be voted out: Deepak should go.

The hitherto unknown facts about 'Bigg Boss'

After running a teaser show on what to expect on 'Bigg Boss' (Sony) last Saturday, the channel has decided to air 'unseen footage' from the show every Saturday, allegedly on popular demand.

The first reaction when the names were revealed was that they were peoplewho anyway had all the time in the world. Who picked the celebs? "It was entirely a Sony call! We had a definite budget and were clear that we want characters with very distinctive personalities; a wild and upfront Rakhi Sawant to a quiet Rupali Ganguly or the suave Salil Ankola to a vocal Ravi Kishen," says chief creative director Sandiip Sikcand.

On who were the other names approached, Sandiip says, "We talked to many celebs like Smriti Irani, Shakti Kapoor, Poonam Dhillon, Chunky Pandey and Yana Gupta, amongst many other names from different fields.

Yana had almost signed on but dropped out last minute saying she wanted the time to complete her book and the others fell apart as they were quoting astronomical sums,' says Sandiip.

When asked how much are the contestants being paid now, he refused to divulge the amount. But according to sources, each of them are being paid Rs 20 lakhs, apart from the prize amount for the winner.

When contacted, Smriti said she couldn't do the show, because she wants to concentrate on her production plans, but will be a part of 'Bigg Boss2'. Shveta Salve said, "I am adventurous but to let go of my life for such a long period is unacceptable. Maybe, even if it was for 45 days, I would have considered it."

Rakhi washes (others') dirty linen in public

If you thought that the sizzling item girls could only look good, you are mistaken. And Rakhi Sawant has proved herself as one of the most benevolent contestants at Bigg Boss's Karjat house. The women trapped in the house of Bigg Boss, have been struggling every day for survival. They are not only cooking their own food, but sweeping the floors and washing their clothes. Model Carol Gracias expressed her grievances about washing her clothes every day. Said Carol, "I just hate washing clothes every day." It was then Rakhi came to her rescue by offering to help her in washing and suggested that they all should wash everyone's clothes by turn. So Rakhi washed the clothes of the entire girl gang. It took her a few hours to finish the job. But it will be a tough task for someone like Carol or Anupama Verma. We really don't know how they'd do it," informs our source.

The actor may be quashed in the Ekta-Sandiip fight. He may have to quit Bigg Boss...

Cricketer-turned-actor Salil Ankola might yet become one of the early oustees from Bigg Boss, and it will not have anything to do with his fellow contestants on the game show or the viewers.

Acting on a breach of contract petition by Balaji Telefilms, the Bombay High Court on Wednesday passed an injunction restraining Ankola from appearing on any programme other than the ones produced by Balaji. Effectively this means that Ankola will have to stop appearing on Sony's reality show which is produced by Endemol.

"We have not received any notice as yet from the court but if we do we will follow the court's order," said a Sony spokesperson.

Balaji lawyer Ravi Kadam told the court that Ankola had entered into a contract to act for their serial Kasturi. As per the contract, he cannot act in any other production house or channel that makes programmes that directly or indirectly compete with Balaji Telefilms for 12 months from the day the serial was aired for the first time. Ankola had pledged in these twelve months to devote himself solely to Balaji Telefilms. However, while the serial Kasturi was first telecast on August 29 and it was decided that it would be shot over 20 days of every month, Ankola disappeared from the shoot after working in August and September . Balaji alleged that he did so to act for another show — Bigg Boss in October.

TV industry watchers say that this is the next instalment in the ongoing feud between Balaji head honcho Ekta Kapoor and Sony's creative head Sandiip Sikcand who had earlier this year quit Balaji amid much acrimony. This was followed by Ekta Kapoor saying that she would not produce any shows for Sony.

There is a clause in Ankola's contract with Balaji which says that any dispute between the two should be referred to the Arbitration Tribunal. Balaji says they will initiate arbitration proceedinga and as per the arbitrator will be appointed by some auditors. On Wednesday, reading out his order Justice D K Deshmukh said that while the matter was pending before the Arbitration Tribunal Ankola cannot act or endorse, advertise or do voice-overs for any other production house or channel other than Balaji Telefilms.

When contacted Sony officials said, "We have not received the court orders yet. But whatever the orders, we shall abide by them."

Who will go out 1st?

The 13 inmates at the Bigg Boss' house are beginning to settle down. Going by the looks of it Aryan Vaid and Anupama Verma agree that the pool is 'the' place to relax, especially to take a nap (however, Bigg Boss' orders forbid afternoon siesta). Rakhi Sawant is all over (with full make up on) either helping Rupali Ganguli to make round rotis or cheering up fellow contestants. But certainly this is no paradise. The confession room filled with tears and disagreements stands testimony to this. Bobby Darling can't stop crying, as she feels isolated and is especially hurt by Deepak Parashar's behaviour. Rupali's request to wish her dog Krishna for his birthday touched Kashmira Shah's heart who's an animal lover herself. Many catfights and some tender moments are in store, but someone will have to leave the show.

Item girls are thrilled that Rakhi Sawant is locked up in Bigg Boss's house for the next three months. An item girl (requesting anonymity) tells us, "I am so thrilled that Rakhi will not be in action for some time. She was trying to eat into our rozi-roti."

Mob mentality

From the last two-three months, Rakhi has been offering huge discounts on her market price to private shows' organisers. This in turn had miffed other girls who are in the lesser price bracket.

This began soon after the Maharashtra government banned Rakhi's shows. Soon after, organisers in other parts of India too struck the item girl's name off from their list. According to our source, "Rakhi has done only two or three shows in the last two months.

People are wary to have her perform because she provokes the mob, leading to a riot-like situation. Consequently, Rakhi began under-cutting to promote her self. When Rakhi slashed her price, it began affecting the other 'show' girls."

Fair play

Event management officials endorse that Rakhi was indulging in this practice. Sridevi from Stage Craft says, "Yes, I have heard that such a thing was happening."

Sandeep, who runs Checkmate, says that Rakhi's new tactics had indeed upset the girls in the business, but he doesn't think Rakhi is doing anything wrong.

He says, "Frankly, I don't blame Rakhi; she simply wants to remain in the fray. Everything is fair in business. I used to get Rakhi to do a show for Rs 3,00,000, but today I could get her for Rs 75,000, which is a reduction by 75 per cent. On the other hand, a Nandini Jumaani charges
Rs 75,000 anyway. So I would definitely opt for Rakhi, who is a better known name."

But the million-dollar question is: How long can the other item girls sleep peacefully? Pretty soon, a liberated Rakhi will once again be on the prowl!

What the other girls have to say

Mumait Khan (of Munnabhai MBBS fame) claims that she hadn't heard about Rakhi's under-cutting formula. However, she adds that she isn't surprised. "Ours is a very cut-throat world, and people are experts at snatching offers from under each others' nose."

Kainaaz tried to brush it off, but sounds distinctly peeved. "This is not affecting my work. I don't even know how under-cutting works, since I have never indulged in it. We all have different standards and reputations, and there is no comparison."

Nandini Jumaani (Krazy Kat) was forthcoming. "I have been a beneficiary. The strict rules debarring Rakhi from performing in Maharashtra helped me get many shows. People started seeing me as a substitute for her. Earlier, I used to charge Rs 70,000 but as my demand increased, I raised my price to Rs 1,00,000.

Then Rakhi started calling up people and telling them that she's ready to work free if they drop me and take her instead. She succeeded in doing this in Kolkata recently. So I am happy that Rakhi is in isolation for the next two-and-half months," she says.

Yasmin Khan (who acted in No Entry) says, "I have had this problem with Rakhi, but I don't get angry. You get the work that is destined for you. I think Rakhi is going out from the market. People are scared of her after what she did to Mika."

Kashmera Shah plays mind games with everybody. She takes contestants into confidence one by one and bitches about the others in the group. She starts with Carol Gracias in the morning and then she targets Rupali Ganguli.

Bobby Darling is told that it is the boys and not the girls who are voting her out. This comes after Kashmera's conversation with Aryan Vaid yesterday, where he confesses this fact to her.

Carol has become the cynosure of all the boys' attention, leaving all the other girls green with envy.

Deepak Parasher is not feeling well today. He requests Bigg Boss to be allowed to take bed rest for the remainder of the day.

Anupama Verma says that the boys make for better company. "I prefer to stay with the boys than sit and bitch with the girls. Rakhi is a very sweet person, it's just that she is very loud."

Ravi Kishen, meanwhile, is making the most of his Bigg Boss sojourn. He offers a Bhojpuri film to Kashmera! Ye gads!

Sony's big-ticket show, Bigg Boss is finally on the boob tube and it's definitely got us glued. There's something about watching celebrities making complete, unscripted asses of themselves, eh?

Interestingly, all those wondering who that voice on the first episode belongs to, it's none other than Sony's creative head, Sandiip Sikcand. We last saw him doing a cameo in Woh Lamhe, and now he's using his creative talents in his shows as well.
