Ravi Kissen

Ravi Kissen is a real intellect. He'll be the brains in the Bigg Boss household. His valued opinions and eternal wisdom will stand him in good stead if he manages to spend a 100 days among former models, actors, actresses, and huge huge egos.

Well connected in the Bollywood industry, Kissen is the one of the people who have changed the landscape of Bhojpuri films. Bhojpuri cinema has now grown to a large extent and is in a good leaque of acceptance. In this history of Bhojpuri films, a first film to be named as the name of a superstar is being made. The star is none other than "Ravi Kissen" and thus is the film called "Ravi Kissen". Ravi Kissen, in Bhojpuri cinema, is looked up as Amitabh Bacchan of the Hindi cinema.

Ravi has also interesting views, his views on vulgarity in the film industry are well known, and this is exactly why Sony would jump at the chance of courting Ravi in order for him to appear on Bigg Boss.

In a time where vulgarity and sexual promiscuous are at a real high in Indian society, the moderate views of Ravi Kissen in the Bigg Boss household will certainly raise some eyebrows.

We wouldn't be entirely surprised if Ravi wins Bigg Boss!

Rupali Ganguly

Rupali Ganguly is one of a kind. She's always been a straight talking and honest chick who has always been well respected.

Daughter of acclaimed film director Anil Ganguli, who has made films like Kora Kagaz, Rupali has carved a niche for herself on the telly. She started acting when she was seven years old with a bit role in the film, Saheb, following it up with an award winning performance in her father's film, Bolidaan. But after doing a couple of forgettable films, she decided that this was "rubbish" and gave it all up. She did not even give screen tests, but concentrated on theatre and gave a commendable performance in Papa Don't Preach.

Now the media cannot have enough of her, it seems. People have started to see her as a serious actress and she has realized that her hard work has paid off. She still finds it a little disconcerting that people recognize her on the streets and she tells us that her mother constantly reprimands her for not dressing up properly, when outdoors, saying," Ab log dekhte hai." ( Now people recognize you!).

Rupali is perhaps too sweet for the Bigg Boss contestants, she's the sort of person you meet and perhaps want to marry? She's marriage material but she could easily be eaten up by stronger personalities such as Rakhi Sawant and Aryan Vaid, something tell us, she'll make good friends with Bobby Darling.

Kashmira Shah

Kashmira Shah is another stunning looker enlisted in the Bigg Boss household. She first made the move from item girl to "it" girl in Yes Boss opposite Shah Rukh Khan and audiences first started recognised her after Vaastav and loved her because of Jungle. These are the three landmarks in her career. In 1993 she won the 'Miss World University India' and went on to the national contest in South Korea and won the 'Miss Talent award'. In 1995 she inaugurated the 'Miss Globe' and was 'Miss Globe India'.

Her bold ambitions started when she was the tender age of 16. Disillusioned with normal life, she announced to her family she wanted to join Bollywood which naturally upset her folks. She was upended on the street with her mother and her life soon become full of promise and excitement after her amazing negative role in Jungle.

Her inclusion in the Bigg Boss house will cause sparks, as not only is she a stunning looking woman, but she's not afraid to speak her mind, her negative role in Jungle may also give her an advantage as other contestants might be slightly intimidated by her.

Maybe she'll get catty with Rakhi Sawant or become one of Aryan's latest objects of affection.

Ragini Shetty

Ragini Shetty perhaps has the most important role in Bigg Boss. She is the Bigg Boss spy… a fake celebrity with loads to prove… she has to create a whole new identity, create white lies after white lies to convince the Bigg Boss contestants she also is a celebrity.

Can Ragini carve out a successful future by simply lying? It worked for Chanetelle in Big Brother UK.

HIV tests for Bigg Boss contestants

In an unprecedented and landmark move, Sony TV are expected to ask each of the 13 contestants to undertake a HIV test as a major precaution because there are chances they will have sex on the show!

With model Carol Gracias, one of the contestants on Bigg Boss and surely one of the objects of attention from the male contestants, Sony TV's requirement of a HIV test is the first of its kind in Indian entertainment, however this move has not entirely been welcomed by all contestants, with some indignant contestants demanding why such tests have to be taken and are reluctant to go ahead with the show now.

Will Sony's brave but perhaps morally correct move backfire?

Day 1 in the Bigg Boss House

Well the contestants have been announced and the first episode has been screened. Here at BiggBoss.in we're still rocking from the 9pm show from Sony and are simply flabbergasted about the amount of exposure Bigg Boss is receiving but also how much the Indian public are getting into the hit reality show that is Bigg Boss.

Keep it up guys. You're doing us proud.

Firstly to the contestants… well what a mixture we have! Firstly there's the sexy stunning corner, which sees Rakhi Sawant, Carol Gracias, Anupama Verma, Kashmira Shah but also Aryan Vaid and Deepak Parashar. Then there's the intellectual corner (they don't need much space there) here, we have Ravi Kissen, Rahul Roy and I would even put Anupama Verma in that category, then there's the sweet section... we have former lanky cricketer Salil Ankola and actress Rupali Ganguly. Then finally we have the wonderfully weird world of Bobby Darling, the only (that we know of) gay in the whole household. What a bunch! And how will they fare with each other?! The only way of knowing is to keep logged onto – whether you're at home, at work, on the train, on the bus, in the shower! (come on Microsoft might have waterproof wireless soon!) you can ALWAYS find out more about Bigg Boss through us.

So any shocks on opening night? Well the stars came in Toyotas! Shocking behaviour from Sony really, what happened to the Rolls Royce's and helicopters Sony had promised… Sony had better buck up soon, we have heard of many households who have lost transmission of their Sony channel while watching Bigg Boss, in fact we lost our transmission! We called them but there was no answer!

But as a spectacle, Bigg Boss opening night was awesome. The girls looked awesome and the guys looked average I guess (yes the person writing this has no breasts) no seriously, the guys looked good, Bobby Darling had too much make up on and host Arshad Warsi was at his swaggering sizzling best. Arshad Warsi was on form tonight; just imagine if he was one of the contestants, he would walk home with the winning prize.

Kashmira and Rakhi's Don dance was a great teaser to open proceedings and these two sirens will surely grab a lot of attention in the next 100 days to come. These two hot sultry vixens may also end up sharing a bed together which will come as an absolute delight to all our male fans. Guys calm down, this is the opening night and you're already excited… go have a cold shower!

So closing comments are as follows: Great opening night. Stars looked fantastic, really geared up for the event, and we cannot wait for the next 99 days to unfold.

Hi-tech Bigg Boss ready for inhabitants

Nitin Desai's marvellously constructed Bigg Boss set is receiving a lot of public attention. The 240x100 foot set has been specially constructed to house the 13 celebrities for more than 3 months.

They will be there for 100 days, with no outside contact, no internet, no MSN, no mobile phones, no TV, no Bollywood, simply nothing but the company of each other. Contestants will have daily activities to complete which will be allocated by host Arshad Warsi. Through these tasks, the housemates will have the chance to win their weekly shopping budget. With this budget, they can buy basic food, groceries, etc. to help them survive in the house.

Nitin Desai who created the set says, "I created the set keeping the India ness of the show in mind. The interiors of the sets are ethnic and it's very huge. I studied the international format and saw the show earlier but I can proudly say that, this is the biggest and the best house among all the Big Bosses." The set is 80 km from Mumbai and is big enough to be called Bigg Boss city. Three hundred people will be staying there for three months.

He adds, "There is a big garland on the gate of the house. The lawn is huge and is designed to look like a chessboard. The Ganesh idol near gate adds to the Indian look of the sets. The rooms have access to each other. There is one living room, there are multiple prayer rooms and bedrooms. There is also a swimming pool and a gym and restaurants. The view from the backyard is also scenic and beautiful. Thirty-two cameras have been installed in the house to monitor the participants round the clock. We have built a road that takes you to the house and is very high-tech.

Impressive stuff from Bigg Boss, and we can confirm that this house really does like more impressive than all the international Big Brother houses.

What every girl must have this summer!

1. A pair of flip-flops; they are my favourite.

2. A pair of cool shorts. You can wear a longish one to cover part of your legs if you think it looks indecent.

3. A comfortable cotton t-shirt. You could have it fitted or loose, structured or not.

4. One white ganji (vest).

Summer skin care

All you need is a good face wash. Nothing more. No makeup.

I hate wearing makeup off the shows.

This summer, stay away from makeup!

Smart tips to get dressed in five minutes

1. Get a good tinted lip balm.

2. Wear a nice mascara.

3. Slip on a pyjama and vest (I am serious!).

Oh well, if you want to be a little more dressy, wear a nice cotton shirt and a pair of loose jeans.
