CHAPTER-9
Suguna and her parents were very happy after hearing Shiv's true love for Anandi and they thanked God for sending him into Anandi's lives and wished God for both of their longevity together with utmost love, care, and affection for each other. It was after mid noon that Anandi woke up with a startle and was screaming loudly and crying not to hit her, "please Jagya do not do it again. My body is paining badly. Leave me for some time. I might die now. Please spare me for at least some hours." She was just saying the above sentences and crying. Everybody was in the hall waiting for Anandi to wake up so that they can feed her something.
Hearing Anandi's cry everybody ran to her room and was shocked to hear what she was saying and everyone was feeling very bad for that innocent soul. Suguna and Shiv rushed immediately to Anandi and Suguna hugged her tightly comforting her and making her aware of the situation, but all in vain. Suguna's mother came to her and sat beside her and said Anandi u r now in safe hands beta, U need not worry. No one will harm u or do anything to u. Shiv wanted to go and hug Anandi and console her but he could not dare coz he was scared how Anandi would react to this and he did not want to trouble Anandi in anyways. Only he knew how he was standing helpless at that moment.
Anandi for the very first time felt a motherly hug from Suguna's mother and hugged her tightly and cried loudly, such loudly as if she was holding her cries, her voice, her pain for all these 21 years of her life and she got her voice today. All the consoling that the whole family present there were doing were in vain. Shiv finally found out his voice and suggested suguna to let her cry as she has been in pain for four years and if she cries her heart out it will relieve her from her stress and she can b peaceful emotionally atleast. Suguna's dad also agreed to this and so did the other two ladies present there. Suguna hugged Anandi and Anandi held her tightly and cried very bitterly drenching Suguna's shoulders in her tears. After about an hour of crying Anandi again went back to sleep without eating. The whole family moved to the living area and Shiv said that he would visit his family and be back soon. Everyone nodded in agreement and Shiv left to his home.
The moment Shiv reached home, his sister came to him running and hugged him tightly and asked him why he did this and why did not he think of the family even for a split second. Shiv could say nothing, he just asked his sister to calm down. When he reached the living room, his parents also asked him the same question. His mother slapped him again out of frustration and anger and the insult that Shiv gave them. Shiv said that he was in love with this girl since the time he was in his first year of intermediate, but could never express his love to anyone and neither to Anandi coz he felt that he was not at an appropriate age to decide his future yet. Shiv's father's anger rose to nth degree by hearing this and asked him does he think that now he is capable and responsible to take the decisions for his future. Shiv was just calm not answering anything, coz he knows that he has hurt the feelings of his parents and that they are right now hurt and silence is the best weapon at this moment, as if he keeps replying everything to whatever they ask, it might just make the situation worst.
He loves his family equally as he loves Anandi and he never wanted to make a choice between his parents and his love, but fate and destiny has stored an entirely different plot in his life and now he has to be with his love and she is in need of him than anyone else at this very moment. Shiv's father could not take his silence and hence went to him and asked him is it because he got to work in an MNC company for the past 9 months had made him responsible, just coz he has been earning for the past 9 months had made him forget his family and take this step. Shiv was again calm and quiet. Shiv's father held his collar and asked him to take whatever he wants from this house and to never show his face ever again. Shiv was completely shattered hearing this, but he had to be strong at this very moment and could not let himself weak at any point right now. He has to be mountain strong to someone who is as tender as a newborn baby right now. He calmly listened to his father and went to his room and took out few of his clothes and his certificates and left the house forever.
While he was leaving the house, his father called him back. Shiv for a moment felt very happy that his father called him back. When he responded to his father's call, his father asked him to take his bike along with him as it will remind them of him. Shiv could not take it any longer and said that he has taken only his certificates and the clothes which he had purchased and nothing else which was owned to him by his parents. He said that his certificates are necessary for him for a bright career in the future and he also added that these certificates are the only valuable thing that I am taking along with me apart from the sweet memories and the culture that u and mother have inherited in me since birth. You have given me the education at the right moment and hence I am able to stand on my feet right now and I will always be thankful and grateful to you for all that you have given me until now, but I am sorry that I cannot deceive my love and I cannot leave her. She needs me and I need her.
His mother was so angry hearing this that she came to him and asked him what is in that girl that u do not want to stay with us and want to go away from us. She is an already married woman. Shiv corrected her by saying that she was just not married, but she was tortured by her husband and her in laws. Though she is impure in the eyes of the world she is still pure and divine for me. I will always be by her side come what may and I will never ever leave her again and I would prefer death than leaving her. His parents were frustrated and asked him to get out from their eyesight forever. The moment he stepped out of the house, his mother slammed the door shut loud with a bang and this hurt Shiv a lot and he left for Suguna's house taking his belongings with him.
