CHAPTER-21
Guys as I said u earlier also that I am very bad in writing intimate scenes and romantic scenes I am taking leaps from days to weeks to months and even to years. My main criteria were to let u know how life took its shape since they met. And being married couples who are deeply in love I think everyone knows and can understand how a couple spend their time together when there is no one to disturb. I dint find appropriate words to describe all those incidents on a day to day basis, hence the gist of their life is penned down.
Shiv and Anandi were very happily leading their life. They used to spend their weekends with Suguna, her family, and Saanchi. As Anandi always used to complain that they are never alone on weekends, Shiv planned a honeymoon to Andaman and Pondichery via searoute as Anandi always fantasized about travelling by ships, so to fulfill her wish Shiv planned on a week's tour to Andaman and Pondicherry where they had a bash. Days passed into years and Anandi as usual topped her graduation by being the college first and the topper in the university in Masters of Maths by securing 93%. Everyone was very happy for Anandi and her success. She was one of the most wanted lecturers in most of the colleges and she worked at one of the top most colleges of the city as a lecturer.
After 7 years of their marital life, one fine weekend morning as both Ansh were enjoying their holiday in each other's company by having their breakfast, Anandi said "Shiv I want to ask u something". Shiv asked what and Anandi replied that she want to b a mother and that is her last wish. Shiv thought for a while and said that they will go to some orphanages and see for a baby and do the needed formalities and adopt one ASAP. Anandi started crying saying that she does not want to adopt a baby but want to carry his child in her womb for full term and give birth to the baby. Shiv was shocked at this and asked her "do u remember Anandi what doctor said. She said that it is very risky for u to conceive, it is risky both for the baby as well as u. Y do u want to risk two lives just for a wish. We can be parents by adopting a child also and in this way the child who is abandoned will get parents also. But Anandi was hell adamant and was just stuck to the word of conceiving.
There was a cold war going on between both Shiv and Anandi for almost a month regarding this matter and Anandi used to skip her food and also the multivitamins and the folate tablets prescribed for her. Shiv lost his patience and his cool and even he was helpless in this case. Shiv also wanted to have his own baby, but the fate could not be changed. After 7 forceful abortions by Jagat and his friends and the way she was sexually abused by them made her womb so weak that conceiving was just next to impossible and Shiv did not want to lose Anandi at any cost but Anandi was adamant on having a baby. Shiv was utterly confused, but at the end Shiv had to take the risk coz he could not see his Anandi in a lifeless form and agreed to her wish. Anandi's wish of conceiving was fulfilled.
When they went for their initial checkup after confirming at home about her pregnancy, the doctor was very upset with Ansh's behavior. Despite being warned they took such a big risk. Shiv took the blame on him and Anandi said that it was her wish and he had to disheartenedly agreed for it. The doctor said that she cannot guarantee either the mother's life or the baby's life. The doctor prescribed more iron, vitamin, and calcium tabs for her and gave her diet chart on what to eat and also asked her to take as much rest as possible. Ansh left the hospital to Suguna's house and gave them the news of her pregnancy. They were happy at first but when they remembered the doctor's words of her probs with conceiving they were all worried, but neither of them could say or do anything.
Days passed into weeks and then into months. Anandi was in her 4th month of her pregnancy and was doing fine until then. She had stopped working after the news of her pregnancy. Shiv used to go to office, but during his absence either Suguna or Saanchi used to give her company and only after their arrival he used to leave for office. Most of the days Shiv used to manage his house by working from home, so that he could take care of his wife more. One day Shiv was very busy with a conference and had his cell was switched off and Saanchi was at home with Anandi. Suddenly Anandi felt dizzy and fell unconscious, Saanchi panicked at the site and called her brother but was not reachable. Suguna and her parents were out of town for a week and Saanchi did not know what to do. She called her mother and said about Anandi. Soon Shiv's parents reached their home and took Anandi to the hospital..
Shiv finished the conference and called Anandi and Shiv's mother recieved the call and informed him about Anandi being taken to the hospital. Shiv reached in no time to the hospital and saw that she was resting on the bed with an IV infusion. His parents came to him and consoled him. It was the very first time that they came to meet him and their daughter-in-law. He was happy that they are with him but sad that Anandi was not fine. The doctor came and said that she had a drop in hemoglobin level and also that her blood pressure was low which caused the dizzy spell. She gave some medicines for Anandi and was discharged home with a strict instruction of complete bed rest. Ansh reached their home along with Shiv's parents and Saanchi. Shiv's father asked them to come to their home, Shiv was very happy, but was even hesitant to accept the proposal. He looked at Anandi and then said that they will surely come but after Anandi's delivery, as this place is very near to his office and the hospital and that his parents house is very far and in case of any emergency it would be difficult for them to reach the hospital on time. Shiv's parents agreed with a heavy heart and after spending sometime and Shiv's mother cooking some special dishes for Anandi left to their home along with Saanchi.
Anandi was in her 6th month of pregnancy and her pregnancy started showing complications with trace bleeding and everyone was panicked at this. Shiv's mother said that this is a wrong sign in pregnant women and they immediately took her to the hospital and the doctor said that Anandi's womb does not have the strength to carry the baby. As the baby is growing day by day, the uterus is unable to hold the weight of the increasing baby and hence the rupture of the internal organ is causing to the bleeding and this can b a serious issue also. Anandi underwent a surgical suturing of the ruptured organ twice, once in her 6th month and once in her 7th month so as to hold the foetus in her womb. Anandi was getting weaker and her blood pressure was just not stabilized and her hemoglobin level was also dropping and hence doctor advised for admission to the hospital till her blood pressure is stabilized and her hemoglobin levels are normal. Hence Anandi was admitted in the hospital when she was 7 months and 22 days pregnant for a check on her BP and her basic vitals.
Suddenly, one day, when she was 8 months 5 days old with her pregnancy, the doctor on checking her basic vitals found that the BP was too uncontrollable and had fallen very low and also the fetal heart rate was also very low and recommended for a cesarean section in the 8th month of her pregnancy but anandi refused to it saying that she wanted to carry her baby for whole 9 months and she was adamant about it. Shiv had lost his patience by now. Both the mother and child's life were at risk and when doctor gave a hope that either one of them can be saved through this early cesarean section, she is refusing it. He lost his patience and raised his hand to beat her in this critical condition. That was the very first time in his life so far that he has raised a hand over anyone and when it was no one other than Anandi he felt ashamed of himself and could not bear it any longer and just walked out of the hospital without saying anything. Meanwhile Shiv and Suguna's parents and Suguna who were present there convinced and consoled her. Shiv returned to the hospital room somewhere at night and saw that she was sleeping peacefully with the IV infusion instilled. He went near her, caressed her hair and cried for his act of raising his hand against her to slap her. Anandi felt drops of water trickling on her face and she opened her eyes and saw that it was her husband. She nodded her head and said that she is ready for the cesarean section. His joys had no boundaries at this point of time. He immediately called the doctor and informed of her consent for the surgery. The doctors immediately started preparing her for the surgery and the next day at early morning she gave birth to a beautiful angel, their daughter.
The baby was premature born and hence was kept under observation in the neonatal ward in the incubator. Anandi was very weak and had heavy blood loss and hence was on blood transfusion along with IV and many wires fixed on her body to check her basic vitals. Everything was fine and happy in their life when on the 10th day of baby's birth the baby suddenly had respiratory obstruction immediately requiring ventilator support and was dependent on oxygen for her breathing. Shiv cursed himself for agreeing to Anandi's wish of carrying their family forward coz the two most precious things of his life are battling for life. The girl whom he loved unconditionally is suffering from severe blood loss requiring blood transfusions every day and their daughter who weighs only 1.20 kilograms is supported on many wires and oxygen mask for breathing which adds up to more than her own weight. All those who knew Anandi or Shiv were paying visits to Anandi and were watching their daughter from outside and sending silent prayers for their wellness. On the 29th day of the birth of the baby the baby was brought safely to the room of her parents where her mother was resting and her dad was sitting beside her. Both the parents were holding their bundle of joy in their hands and Shiv was hugging both of them together and praying God to be with them forever and to never take them away from him. Thus they started their new journey with a new life in their beautiful world.
Hey frnzzz, this is the end of the story. Few of u have asked me initially whether this was a true story on someone whom I know. I was silent at that time. Now that I have ended the story I admit that this is a true love story of Sumeet Kurup and Nisha Kurup, that's me and my wife, and my baby Hasini, who was brought to our room to be with us today and I am so very happy that my angel is with us. The doctors were hopeless of my wife's condition during her pregnancy and I was so low that I dint knew what to do. I was just recollecting all the days since I first saw her in the science fair and suddenly a thought of penning it down came to my mind and thus it happened to be posted in this forum. Many of u have prayed for my wife and my kid and due to which both are safe, though Nisha is unstable, but her condition is out of danger. I am grateful to all those whom I know personally and to those whom I came to know through this forum for ur prayers and support in every form when I needed them the most.
