I was excited to meet her after days..i speed up my jeep..i wanted to reach there as soon as possible..
those striking winds were making me shiver,dunno why i was getting goosebumps..was i nervous?
In my way to her house,i may have imagined our meeting hundreds time..
Will she be equally excited to see me? What if she may hug me? What if we bumped to each other?Wait,what excuse am i going to make about why i was there?
Ohh..bloody hell..stop it madhav..you have your own reason- " Badi amma" (I thought in my mind patting my head..and smiled)
There i stopped my jeep infront of her house..things got more worse,my heart started beating more faster,my breathing got heavy,a little tension went over creating fine lines on my forehead..I clutched my fist,closed my eyes to control those storm inside me..
and then opened my eyes slowly..gave a smile to myself and stepped down from my jeep..looked around her door it was little open.i hurriedly took all the stuffs mom asked me to present badi amma and moved ahead..but then stopped in mid,came back only to check myself in my jeep side mirror..
(Set my hair a bit,surfaced my palm over my face) Humm..that's better(I winked to myself..Then i felt weird)
WTH..Madhav..what has happened to you? come on..you alwaz look good and its not like you have never came here before to meet manu,i mean she is your best friend before...(I paused a second and blushed..) before what? Wife? Beloved? Yeah i think that's why today it makes a difference..(smiles)
Finally i managed to bring myself near her door..i knocked once..and waited for response as the door was little opened,in mean while i rolled my eyes to left..when i saw a beautiful rangoli design made..that brought smile on my face,yesterday only i was thinking about rangoli and its connect to us..
But it was a few seconds and no answer from inside..i again knocked this time two and three..
Then i heard a voice from inside..
"kon hai?"
Hum hai?Yuvraj..!! (I replied)
[I guessed that voice was of badi amma,..Where is manu?]
Door opened and badi amma welcomed me with folded hands "yUVRAJ..aap? aaiye..andar aaiye?
I nodded and came in..she showed me way to sit..i placed my things there and faced her thinking(shall i touch her feet or just say namastey asusual i do alwaz) but then dunno before i could figure out the answer and bowed down to touch her feet..(She got surprized)
"Yuvraj?? ye kya kar rahe hai aap? iski jarurat nahi hai..she made me stand and blessed me..
"Aap yuvraj hai apko hamara is tarah per chuna shobha nhi deta..hum sab to apke parivar ke sevak hai"
"But you are elder than me..so there is nothing bad in taking your blessing..infact i should have done this before from childhood but then..."(I had an ashamed look on my face..why didn't i ever earlier noticed this..)
Badi amma gave me a smile and looking that i too smiled a little..she asked me to take my seat and she will bring something to offer me to eat..i stopped her as she was not well but she was adamant..so she went..
I took my seat and rolled my eyes all over the house.."Where is she?" Till now she should have come after hearing my voice..but there was no sight of her" (i was getting impatient to see her..)
When she came back she had some homemade drinks and snacks for me,we started taking each others whereabouts and in betwenn i cleverly tried to question if any was at home? to which i got to know manu wasn't at home..
Oh-my whole day planning came crashed to my feet..my heart sank a bit.Manu has went to some neighbors house..so i decided to wait for her and started to timepass..
(Nearly thirty minutes passed and even snacks finished long time back and all talks about well being also...I was helpless i couldn't wait more..i had my works and there was no sign of manu..)
So finally i stood up unwillingly and took consent to leave..and came out..
I was high on anger till then..Where is she? I hit my hand at the wall edge and it hurted me badly..
i was coming out when i met devsena bua on way and i wished her and hurriedly left towards my jeep..(Devsena bua must have felt weird)..
by then i started my jeep..and again for once looked back to see if manu? but she wasn't there..only devsena bua was staring me questioningly.. so i turned and left in anger...
[SCENE SHIFTS TO BADI AMMA HOUSE]
DEVSENA- Badi amma yuvraj yha kese?
BADI AMMA- badi rani ne kuch saman bheja tha aur humara haal-chall puchne aaye the..
Devsena listened to her and nodded giving a thought looking at the door.
After nearly 15 more minutes,manu came smiling and hugged devsena from behind..
MANU- bua..(smiles) aap aagyi.. (Devsena gives a smile and She took some peas devsena was deseeding and started eating) Badi amma kaha hai?(and she went in)
Manu cames to know that badi amma has not yet taken her medicines,so she started running behind her taking glass of water and med. but badi amma was trying to ignore her.
Manu-Badi amma, Ye gussa aap baad me kar lijiyega..pehle aap dawaiya le lijiye..she became emotional saying this..so badi amma took unwillingly and had it..Manu laid her on the bed to rest..and again came to devsena in the hall..When her eyes fell on the stuffs brought by madhav..
MANU- Bua?? Koi aaya tha kya? Ye sab kon le ke aaya?
(Devsena gave her a look but didn't say anything and again started doing her work)
MANU- (Teasingly) Bua?? btaiye na?
DEVSENA- Yuvraj madhav...(and she was about to give all detail but she looked at manu who was standing there in shock,widening her eyes in disbelief..) What?? Manu...?? (devsena asked)
MANU- MA...(she cleared her throat) MADHAV..?? Aye the? (she started thinking and he went without meeting me)
Devsena voice brought her back "Han aaye the badi amma ne bataya karib 1:30 hrs tak ruke the..(This hit manu hard..madhav stood here so long,and I?? Did he came to meet me? generally he doesn't stays so long here..then why today)
she noded devsena " Humm" and came out in her thoughts when her eyes fell on the wall edge..and she felt weird.. There was little blood on the wall.she sat down to take a look and was confirmed yes..it was blood..something went into her mind and without saying a word she ran along the road outside banging the gate behind...
Devsena bua kept calling her Manu...?? Manu kha jaa rahi hai tu..?? Manu ..kya hua??
but she ran away...
[She was running through roads,jungles,thrones...What was in her mind??]
[SCENE SHIFTS TO MADHAV]
After driving nearly 15-16km he stopped his jeep with a jerk..and laid his head over steering..
His heart started aching which he had controlled for a while..tears rolled down his cheeks and he Started sobbing..
he looked up in the sky..
"Just one glance..just one.. did I asked more for today..then why??
Why wasn't she there?
(He wipes his tears...Moves his hand to his pocket and took out one pair of anklet..)
He was staring at those anklets with disappointing look..then clutched it into his palm..
'I brought this day before yesterday from a shop..when i was in market and one vendor asked me to purchase something for your loving ones..only face which came to my mind was yours..so i went and brought it..I dunno if you would have accepted this but i just wanted to present you this anklet..and whenever you you use to be around me,it may have reminded me of your presence by its sound'
(He took a deep breathe..)
Its been three-four days manu..Don't you miss me? Does it makes no difference to you if i am around or not? You didn't took one effort to meet me in these days..I don't know if you LOVE me like i do or not? But don't you atleast missed your friend or our friendship has also vanished in these customs,barriers,rules and everything...
But meri manu to esi nahi thi na?? (He again started crying..and threw those anklets on ground on anger..sobbing again..his head buried under his palm)
When one hand rests on his shoulder...
