Kamal Haasan accused of conning a film producer of Rs 10 crore!

Actor Kamal Haasan has found himself in trouble as producer KE Gnanavel Raja has filed a complaint with the Tamil Nadu Film Producers' Council (TFPC). The producer claimed that the actor had borrowed a huge sum of Rs 10 crore during the release of Uttama Villain but failed to repay it.

Ramesh Aravind directorial Uttama Villain starred Kamal Haasan and released in 2015. Ulaganayagan produced the film on a first copy basis for director Lingusamy's banner. 

Reportedly, During the release time, the film faced financial crunch and Kamal had borrowed Rs 10 crore from KE Gnanavel Raja.

The reports in India Today, quoted the producer saying that Kamal had promised him that he would do a film for his banner and that he can deduct Rs 10 crore from his salary. Even after four years, Kamal Haasan hasn't given his dates to KE Gnanavel Raja nor paid back Rs 10 crore.

In his complaint, Gnanavel claimed that Kamal Haasan didn't show interest in signing a new film with him, which has forced him to approach TFPC.

The member of TFPC, J Satish Kumar spoke to Vikatan confirming that they have received a complaint against Kamal Haasan and that they have started investigating the matter.

On the work front, Kamal Haasan is presently shooting for director Shankar's big-budget flick Indian 2. The film’s prequel critically acclaimed and turned out to be a massive hit amongst audience.  

Apart from that, he is also concentrating on the pre-production of his ambitious film Thalaivan Irukkiran, which has music by composer AR Rahman.
