Mehek was tired and Shaurya was so cooly polite the entire evening it infuriated her more than anything else in the world. She kept fiddling with her hands rather than eating and he would hold her hand under the table, making her squeak in protest, each time a blush would rise into her cheeks, making the director and his wife smile.

"You know Shaurya, you are a perfect doctor but you have a perfect bride too He complimented, Mehek did not like the way he leered at her and frowned.

"Thank you He said again politely.

"Why don't we dance Mehek said, Shaurya, hand on her wrist tightened.

Mehek ignored him and went about cleaning the kitchen he followed her inside and was pulling his tie off.

"God he was looking at you the entire time, he has no shame. He could be your grandfather Mehek said nothing.

"Really should I die of happiness? Mehek asked, pulling her hand away.

"I don't have one, as you can see I am happy Mehek said, a little hysterically.

Mehek went into Shaurya's study and looked around the room. She opened every drawer she could and found useless objects, she was about to give up when she was trying the drawers on his desk and found a drawer with a safe.

She put in his birthday and it beeped that the combination was wrong. Mehek tried her own birthday and it clicked instantly open. She saw inside, were various documents and bonds and all sorts of papers, Mehek saw two black books.

Her passport and Id. She noticed something else, a marriage licence.

The one she had signed, she ran her fingers over the ink. He had a wad of American dollars kept. Mehek sighed.

"I am sorry Shaurya She said as she took it.

She quickly closed it. And left.

Mehek arrived in India the next morning, she rushed, to her house.

"Mehek Her mother came out and hugged her.

"My sweet angel She kissed her cheek and pulled her inside.

"Where is dad?

"He is in his room go in, he has been asking for you

Her mother shrugged. Mehek went into the room, and the door was locked behind her.

"Mom, dad what is going on? She called out.
