Part 7

Mehek reached out and traced the pattern of the closed doors with the tips of her fingers. Shaurya would be so angry if he found out. She shivered against the door.

"If that boy comes here then what? She heard her mother ask her father outside.

"I will call the police.

Mehek closed her eyes. And a tear ran down her cheek. Why were the two people she loved the most so bent on dividing her like this.

Shaurya.

Shaurya entered his apartment. He looked around, where was she? Did she decide to go out and get drunk again, irritation knawed at him and his forehead began to pound.

"Mehek you better be in this house he said going towards their room. Which was a mess, along with his head his heart began to pound. Their cupboards were open and the suitcase travel bags he kept at the bottom were missing. He ran into his study and went behind his desk and fell onto the floor. She had left!

Her passport was gone and she had taken money from him.

He grabbed his chair and kicked it. No matter how much it hurt to look at her. She was his. He would drag her back here, even if it was the last thing he did. He exhaled and picked up his phone.

He dialled Niki.

"Hey Niki, is Mehek with you? He asked in a fake upbeat voice.

"No Shaurya She said before she could say anything he hung up. He would drag her back here. Mehek could not leave him. Not until he took his last breath.

2 days later.

"Force it in her mouth Meera Mehek had refused to eat. She looked out the window.

"Mehek is a big girl we can't be doing things like that to her Her mother said. Mehek would not talk to them. Her hand was tied to the headboard. After trying to escape twice.

"I want to go home She whispered, her mouth was dry.

"Your home is here Mehek. You will stay here until you realise your mistake. Our family girls don't go out with boys, they don't speak to boys. You lied to us and was seeing that boy, that rich spoilt little shit

Her mother touched her hand, Mehek pulled it away.

Mehek was asleep, when she was woken up by loud noise outside.

"GET out of my house

"MEHEK WHERE ARE YOU COME HERE It was Shaurya he had come for her. Mehek pushed the cover away and went to the door.

"Shaurya She said his name, as loudly as she could.

"I will phone the police for you boy, you will be arrested then I want to see which hospital hires a criminal doctor

"Mehek come out here now

"Shaurya open the door, I am locked inside Mehek cried out.

"Step aside He said from outside her door, Mehek took a step back. The door swung open, off its hinges. Mehek felt relieved as she went straight into his arms. He held her against him.

"Mehek is my wife there is no law on earth that can separate us He said, annoyed, Mehek closed her eyes. She felt dizzy.

"My little girl will not marry a boy like you

"Too late father in law we already are married Shaurya said irritated.

Her father pulled her away from Shaurya who held onto her wrist.

"Let go of her hand

"Let go off my wife

Mehek felt her eyes feel heavy.

Mehek woke up in her bedroom. Her old bedroom, Shaurya was holding her. Loosely. Mehek looked up at him and he kissed her head.

"I told your father you are pregnant He whispered in her ear. Mehek looked up at him with wide eyes.

"What?

"Just go with it

Her father looked at her with a sad expression, while her mother looked happy and sad at the same time.

"To think she was not eating, is the baby ok Shaurya beta He had won her mother over Mehek. Shaurya nodded.

"Yes...

Her father said nothing and left the room. Mehek felt Shaurya caress her stomach and heard her mother sigh.

"Everything will be ok now dear Her mother said and left the room. Mehek looked up at Shaurya who sighed.

"I treated you so badly but you wouldn't eat because they kept you away from me? He said softly, his arms around her tightened. Mehek closed her eyes.

"I love you, I didn't know if you would come back for me. When I think of living without you I can't breath She whispered, she could not remember a time she didn't love him.

"We will start over. I am sorry for what its worth. The thought of life without you drives me crazy...I don't think clearly.

"I know Mehek said. He kissed her again.

"I think your father has no choice but to except me now that you are pregnant. I will have to get you pregnant soon so that he doesn't figure out He told her.

"I told you we just had to wait a little bit for him to except you

"I had to go to america, I could not imagine not being there without seeing you, feeling you He said touching her cheek "I don't think clearly, when it is about you Mehek

EPILOGUE

Mehek stood near the door way.

Watching Shaurya and her father talking.

Promises there was something funny about them, we make them with the purpose of keeping them but sometimes circumstances don't allow us to keep them.

"I think they finally are starting to understand each other more Her mother said, Mehek looked away guiltily she was not pregnant as yet. Pretty soon her father would find out. Shaurya looked at her and smiled. Mehek looked away.

And blushed lightly.

"You two are so beautiful together the baby will be beautiful Her mother told her.

"Shaurya what if they find out? Mehek said when they were alone. He hugged her from behind and rested his chin against her shoulder.

"It just means we should keep practising He said.
