"Than just tell me the truth She said, he closed his eyes.

"That was my patient, Shruti

"Why were you having lunch with her, why was she holding your hand? Mehek asked. He sighed.

"Her daughter is sick Mehek, very sick she thinks that if she has surgery she will die so she is refusing it

"What is wrong with her daughter

"She has tumor in her brain He said.

"Why did you not tell me?

"Because I wanted to trouble you

"Don't push me so far Shaurya that I will have to leave She told him walking back into the sitting room.

A few days later.

Mehek walked with Niki, admiring the park.

"When will you have a baby? She asked, looking at the children walking in the park. Mehek winced, she wondered what Niki would think if she told her she was still a virgin.

"I don't think any time soon Mehek said, honestly. Niki laughed.

"Shaurya would not like to share you with anyone She said, putting her arm around her.

"Yeah Mehek said unsure of what else to say.

"Like today, I asked him before I asked you if we could go shopping She said laughing, Mehek frowned. Why was he behaving like she was a doll he owned and rented out occasionally. Niki's phone vibrated and held up her phone to Mehek.

He had texted Niki. He wanted to control her. Mehek frowned.

"You know Mehek you are a doctors wife you should ask him to get you a phone so that he can phone you as much as he wants Mehek said nothing and forced a smile again on her face.

"Don't reply Mehek said shrugging, making Niki raise her brows.

"You want to ignore him. Oh dear what's wrong?

"Nothing Niki

"Mehek look me in the eye, tell me She said. Mehek looked, into her eyes and grimaced.

"I should be going Niki, I don't want to drag you into this

"Mehek? Mehek walked away towards the exit. And walked down path back to her house, well his house.

Mehek shared a chair with Shaurya as they sat in study hall together. He had an arm on the back of her chair.

"You know Mehek, the holiday is starting soon. He said, Mehek pouted. She was used to seeing Shaurya every day, she was unsure if she could manage not seeing him.

She placed her cheek on his shoulder blade and closed her eyes.

"I don't like being away from you

"I will be doing rounds in Wenely hospital He said, Mehek closed her eyes.

"We will stay in contact always He said kissing her forhead.

"Always?

"Always. I love you

"And if I miss you more than you miss me?

"Well than you can come in as patient and see me Mehek laughed.

"I don't know doctor Khanna, is a little touchy for me

"Well when your patient is this pretty it makes you forget your limits

Mehek blushed and poked his side. Making him laugh.

Now.

Mehek came home and found Shaurya asleep on the couch. He had a bunch of papers scattered all over the coffee table, she bent down and neatened them. She bent down and touched his cheek.

"How can someone look this good asleep? She wondered sighing.

She let go. She took of his shoes and picked his head up and placed a cushion underneath it. She picked up one of the throws and slowly placed it over him.

"If you stare at me like this I cannot sleep He said without opening his eyes. Mehek moved backwards so quickly that she fell, down, he opened his eyes and laughed.

"What are you doing? He asked pulling her hand. Mehek landed on his chest.

"Let me go Mehek said, pushing herself away from him.

"How was your time with Niki? He asked her, Mehek, could not help but want to close her eyes and place her cheek against his chest and just stay there.

"Good, thank you so much for letting me out She told him sarcastically.

"The director of my hospital is coming home for dinner later. Should I order out or will you cook? He asked her to ignore her tone completely.

"How about I go out and you handle them alone

"Niki sent you a dress, it's in our room. I will order the food since you are in such a good mood wife He said, Mehek tried to pull away from him. He let her go and smirked.

Mehek stomped to their room and flung the door closed.

That afternoon.

Mehek sat in their room looking out the window, when Shaurya came into their room.

He had changed into black suit. Mehek ignored him, he was putting on pair of cufflings.

"You are not ready yet, what happen to Mehek that wanted my forgiveness so badly? Mehek glared at him.

"Dress fast, wife of mine, or I will dress you myself He said his eyes ran over her, Making Mehek shudder.

"You wouldn't dare

"I would Mehek, The Shaurya who would move the moon and back for your one smile, you destroyed. So now enjoy your life with me He said cruelly. Mehek inhaled. For how long was he going to hold it over her head? she wondered she took the bag and went into the bathroom.

The dress was long and elegant.

Mehek heard a knock on the bathroom door and ignored it.

"The guests are here Mehek, would you grace us with your presence or are you going to stay there? He asked her sarcastically.

Mehek opened the door, and walked past Shaurya.

"Come She said, he exhaled and took her hand. Mehek walked out with him. The director Mr Khan was a tall man with a thick beard and twinkling eyes, his wife was younger than Mehek expected her to be, she looked a little older than Mehek herself.

"Shaurya she is prettier than that picture you have of her on your desk He said smiling. Shaurya's hand left her hand and went around her waist.

"Hmm He said, Mehek smiled at them.

3 months ago.

Mehek went into the ward, where one of the nurses told her Shaurya was working. She saw him holding a file and coming out of the room. She bumped into him, he smiled.

"What are you doing here? He asked her.

"I was not feeling well so I thought I would come see the doctor Mehek said, Shaurya played along.

"What symptoms do you seem to have? He asked taking her into a corner and drawing her up against the wall.

"It hurts here Mehek said holding a hand over her chest.

"Must I check it for you? He asked touching her hand over her chest.

Mehek pushed his hand away and laughed.

"No thanks, doctor perv

"Call me names and I will kiss you he threatened leaning in, Mehek scrunched her nose at him and turned her face away from him.

"I will call you whatever I want Mehek told him, making him laugh.

"Really?

He tickled her sides, until Mehek crunched down on the floor in tears.

"I am sorry, please stop She cried out.

"Hmm He said kissing her cheek.

"You know last night I had such a good dream

"Really?

"Yeah, we were married, you were pregnant and in the kitchen, insisting on making tea for me He said, Mehek laughed.

"I would not make tea for you, you would have to make for me if I was pregnant Mehek told him laughing.

Mehek was leaving when she saw her cousin Mohit, and went toward him.

"Mohit, what's wrong? Why was in hospital, Mehek wondered.

"Di what are you doing here He asked her.

He hugged her. When she stepped out of his hold.

"Di, who is that and why is he looking at me like he wants to kill me? Mohit asked, Mehek turned around and grimaced as Shaurya glared at Mohit.

After so much love between them, things are stalemate now as he cannot let go that she considered her parents before him. He did clarify to her eventually about his lady friend but he keeps tabs on her and treats her like his property. She does not even have her own phone so she must be suffocating at his behaviour. His guests told her he keeps her picture on his desk so he must be besotted with her.

Shaurya...shaurya...why are you so difficult?why are you making this so difficult???

Things need to be cleared between a couple ASAP before paving way to more MUs.

Shaurya is acting like a total jerk. How can a person dump her parents, those who have given birth and raised her? 🤢The expectation itself is wrong. Hope someone knocks some sense into him, otherwise, he'll surely end up losing Mehek.
