It was an emotional night for Abhishek Bachchan as he celebrated two special moments, a heartfelt tribute to his father, Amitabh Bachchan, on his 83rd birthday, and a major recognition for his work in I Want To Talk.

The evening saw Abhishek performing a lively medley of his father’s most loved songs, celebrating Big B’s cinematic journey. The nostalgia brought tears to Jaya Bachchan’s eyes. At one point, Abhishek paused his act, stepped off the stage, and joined his mother in the audience. He danced with her briefly, hugged her, and kissed her on the forehead before leading her back to her seat, a moment that quickly became the emotional highlight of the night.

When Abhishek’s name was announced for Best Actor, his family, Jaya, Shweta Bachchan, and Navya Naveli, stood up cheering proudly. Fans online, however, couldn’t help but notice that Aishwarya Rai and Aaradhya were missing from the family celebration. One user wrote, “This is one never-ending debate that has no conclusion.” Another commented, “Ash seems to have become more private, appearing only for a few select occasions each year.”

Despite their absence, Abhishek made sure to acknowledge them during his acceptance speech. Fighting back tears, he said, “This year marks 25 years in the film industry, and I cannot remember how many times I’ve practised a speech for this award. Receiving it in front of my family makes it even more special.” He continued, “To Aishwarya and Aaradhya, thank you for allowing me to follow my dreams. I dedicate this to my two heroes, my father and my daughter.”

I Want To Talk features Abhishek as a terminally ill father who tries to reconnect with his estranged daughter. Directed by Shoojit Sircar, known for Piku, October, and Sardar Uddham, the film is inspired by a true story and also stars Jayant Kriplani and Ahilya Bamroo.

Recently seen in the comedy Housefull 5 alongside Akshay Kumar, Riteish Deshmukh, Sonam Bajwa, and Jacqueline Fernandez, Abhishek will next appear in King with Shah Rukh Khan and Suhana Khan.
