Naagin 7 New Promo: Ekta Kapoor's snake franchise takes inspiration from Stranger Things with 'Dragon' twist

The new promo of Naagin 7 is here. And it is nothing like what we have seen before. While the older seasons of Naagin were based on the classic Indian folklore of a snake-maiden who becomes an avenging angel, this one is different. Naagin 7 looks more like a creature based fantasy show with the new promo that’s out today. We do not have an inkling of who is the male and female lead of the show. Naagin 7 looks more like a battle of the titans in the creature fantasy space like Godzilla vs. Kong.

Fans find the Stranger Things reference

Given the craze for foreign shows in the current generation, the makers seemed to have altered the original DNA of Naagin. Fans believe it could be influenced by Stranger Things. As we know, there is a monster called Demogorgon in Stranger Things who is referenced as the dragon. He is the main nemesis of the show.

Is it inspired by this Korean creature drama?

It is said that Priyanka Chahar Choudhary and Namik Paul might be the leads of Naagin 7. We have already been introduced to a massive Naagin who looks like the apex predator of a huge jungle. This creature looks more like one made in a lab. Fans who have watched the Netflix show, Gyeongseong Creature might find some similarities in the visuals where the underground lifts lead to a huge cage that houses a monster. In that show, the creature/monster had the brain of a human. However, it looks like it is going to be a dragon vs a Naagin.

Is there a hidden clue in the promos?

We can see that the creature has huge talons. It is seen in birds like owls and eagles, which are known to hunt down serpents. Naagin 5 had the cheel angle with Sharad Malhotra as a shape-shifting cheel. We wonder if he is making a comeback given that his performance was much appreciated on the show. Fans literally demanded him back on the show.
