Chapter 13

7 am

Abhimanyu Wakes up and sees Akshara is not in the room.

Abhimanyu: where did she go? He hears the sound of mixer and goes to kitchen. Akshara what are doing in the kitchen so early?

Akshara: actually Nimi has to drink dry fruit shake early morning, so I was keeping that ready, because then I get busy with you in the morning.

Kalyani: beta you two here?

Abhimanyu: yes, actually Akshara was making something for Nimisha.

Kalyani goes to drink water. She twists her foot and falls down pushing Akshara. Akshara has mixer in her hand and with the push her hand touches the blade of the mixer and her finger starts bleeding.

Akshara goes to pick Kalyani up. She makes her stand. Abhimanyu sees Akshara’s finge rbleeding.

He immediately rushes to her and takes her hand and pours down cold water on it.Just as the bleeding stops he takes her finger in his mouth to soothe her pain.He then takes her to the room.

Akshara: relax Abhimanyu, it’s just a minor cut.

Abhimanyu(while dressing her wound): shut up. You never care about yourself. You have to keep everyone else before you.

Akshara: ok. You freshen up. I will just be back.

Abhimanyu(holding her hand): take rest.

Akshara: its ok. I am fine and leaves.

Akshara comes to the kitchen and sees kalyani throwing away the shake.

Akshara: aunty why....

Kalyani: enough of your drama. I am here, I will take care of Nimi and all her needs. For I dont trust you, you might end up poisoning her.

Akshara(with tears): aunty you think I will do such a thing with Nimi.

Kalyani leaves without answering. Akshara wipes her tears and goes back to the room.

After sometime Abhimanyu is getting ready, Akshara is standing with his coffee but she is lost thinking about Kalyani's words and unknowingly sipping his coffee.

Abhimanyu: Akshara, Akshara...

Akshara: yes.

Abhimanyu: where are you so lost? I called you so many times.

Akshara: nothing like that, she notices coffee in her hand. Sorry i will get another for you.

Abhimanyu(holds her hand): why??? What happened to this one? (Taking the mug from her)

Akshara: i drank it by mistake.

Abhimanyu: thats not needed. I will have this only. And gives her the tie.

Akshara makes him wear the tie but she is lost.

Abhimanyu(puts the mug down and Holds her waist): what's the problem? You sound very low.

Akshara(straightens his collar and puts her arms around his neck): everything is fine,maybe its exertion.

Neil: bhaiya, this file... turns around, sorry sorry.

Abhira separate.

Abhimanyu:yes Neil come in.

Neil:I have read this file. Everything is fine.

Akshara thinks it was good that Neil interrupted them else Abhimanyu would have asked her continuously about her being sad. Abhimanyu leaves side hugging her and Akshara cleans the room. She feels blood near her nose and rushes to the washroom. She cleans it and does her daily work.

Kalyani: nimi, how come everything is fine between Abhimanyu and Akshara?

Nimi: mummy didi is so nice that nobody can stay away from her for long.

Kalyani: yeah whatever it is. But it’s good that you are giving the Birla's their first heir. If Akshara would have been pregnant first then these Birla's would have been mad with happiness and nobody would care about you and Neil.

Nimi: mummy please you have started this again. Let me sleep.

Anisha(in Abhimanyu's room): bhabhi what happened? You look tensed. Did Aunty say something to you?

Akshara: no Anisha, its nothing like that. Her phone rings.

Abhimanyu: Akshara I have to urgently leave for a meeting to Mumbai. I will be home in half an hour. Can you do my packing till then?

Akshara(with a sad face): for how many days?

Abhimanyu: 2 days.

Akshara: ok and disconnects the call.

Anisha: bhaiya is going somewhere.

Akshara(while packing): yes he has a meeting in Mumbai.

After sometime Abhimanyu arrives.

Abhimanyu: are you done with the packing? Put this file also in the bag.

Akshara(with gloomy face): its just 2 days, no?

Abhimanyu: haan baba I will be back in 2 days. What happened why are u so low subah b u were not fine?

Akshara(hugs him): nothing I will just miss you.

Abhimanyu(hugs her back): Arre it’s a matter of two days and I will be back. I will miss you too.

Akshara sheds tears silently and thinks what will she do without him. She had her emotions bottled up since morning and now with Abhimanyu leaving she just burst out.

Abhimanyu(wiping her tears): shhh kya hua. Is everything fine. Should I not go?

Akshara: no you go and come back fast.

Abhimanyu(hugs her and kisses her forehead): Take care.

Akshara: you too.

Abhimanyu takes everyone's leave and goes to the airport.

At dinner Akshara brings oats for nimisha and so does Kalyani.

Kalyani: See Manjari Ji, I am telling you very clearly, please ask Akshara to stay away from Nimisha. I don’t want her near my Nimi. She hasn't been able to give heir to this family, so there is no need for her to be anywhere around Nimisha.

Manjari(stands up): enough Kalyani Ji, you are saying too much against Akshara.

Akshara: mom relax. Please. Aunty I will do as you say.

Nimisha: di what are you saying?

Akshara(hugging her): nimi maybe your mom is right. You relax I am here only. I am not going anywhere. With that she leaves and goes to her room. Abhimanyu calls her.

Abhimanyu: hii, I reached and just checked into the hotel. Dinner kar liya.

Akshara: yes. You too have it.

Just then Anisha comes.

Anisha: bhabhi come let’s have dinner.

Abhimanyu: you were saying you had your dinner?

Akshara(glaring at Anisha): I wasn’t hungry.

Abhimanyu: Akshara please have it. You will again fall sick like this.

Akshara: ok fine I will have it.

Abhimanyu: promise.

Akshara: yes pucca promise. After the phone she starts eating.

Post dinner she sleeps but is very uncomfortable. She is tossing in the bed. She finally gets up and sits on the bed. She again feels her nose is bleeding and rushes to the washroom.

Akshara: what is happening to me since yesterday? Why is my nose bleeding so much? I guess it’s because of stress.

Next morning Akshara saw Kalyani in Hall talking on phone.

Kalyani: this Akshara is such a pain for my daughter.I don’t understand what hypnosis she has done to these people that they are always moving around her. I am telling you she is infertile else she also has been married for a year now. But that's good. Business will be taken over by Nimisha's kids.

Akshara(rushes back to her room and cries): Lord krishna what mistake have I done? Why is she doing this to me? She takes Abhimanyu's photo and hugs it.

Akshara was working in the kitchen cooking for the dinner. Kalyani comes to drink water and acts that she slipped and pushes Akshara.

Kalyani: sorry Akshara beta I just slipped.

Akshara: it’s ok Aunty. Are you fine?

Kalyani: yes I am fine.

Akshara checks her hand and it’s the same finger bleeding as the wound was still fresh a bit. She smiles remembering how worried Abhimanyu was.

Abhimanyu was coming back today after two days but in these days Kalyani had let loose her terror on Akshara with Abhimanyu not around. Whenever Abhimanyu talked to her in these two days he sensed something was not right with her but she always denied it. Abhimanyu comes home but sees no one is there only nimisha and her mother.

Abhimanyu: nimi where is everybody and Neil? I had asked him to stay with you only.

Nimi: bhaiya wo actually, wo

Abhimanyu: kya wo wo, nimi is everything fine?

Nimi: bhaiya i don't know how to say this.

Abhimanyu: nimi you are testing my patience Aunty what is the problem?

Kalyani: beta everyone is at the hospital.

Abhimanyu: what? But why?

This Kalyani is such and evil woman, she is too much... she badly wants to get kicked out by Abhi the way she's going on with Akshu... I hope Akshara is ok... I hope it has nothing to do with her hitting her head when Kalayni pushed her... Please dont make anything seriously wrong happen with Akshara...

Chapter 14

Abhimanyu rushed to the hospital. He spotted Neil, Anisha and his mother. Anisha hugged him tight and cried.

Abhimanyu: if all of you are here, where is Akshara? Anisha what happened, why are you crying?

Neil: bhai actually..

Abhimanyu: Neil say something. I am getting worried. Where is Akshara?

Just then doctor comes out of the emergency.

Dr.: who is her husband?

Neil: bhai you talk to the doctor first.

Dr.:Mr. Birla your wife is critical.

Abhimanyu(Tears flowing down his eyes): maa what happened in just two days. She was fine when I left

Manjari: doctor how is Akshara?

Dr:Mr. Birla she was being slow poisoned.

Abhimanyu: but why would anybody do such a thing with Akshara

Dr: see the poison that was given to her was not meant to kill her.

Neil:what are you trying to say? What has happened with Bhabhi?

Dr:the poison that we have found in her body is a drug that is given to women so that they can't conceive. In other words so that she doesn’t become a mother.

Abhimanyu sits down with a thud.

Manjari: who would do such a cheap act with our Akshara?

Dr:you have to get hold of yourself Mr. Birla. She needs you the most. The poison that was given to her had a good amount of sulphur content and as per our reports your wife is allergic to sulphur and that caused a reaction in her blood.

Abhimanyu: do whatever you want to do but I want my wife back.

Dr:you tell me one thing, didn’t you notice anything? Because this drug has visible reactions like nose bleeding or blood vomiting.

Neil: Dr, bhai wasn't home so he doesn't know much but today when I went to Bhabhi's room, she was lying on the floor and I saw blood near her mouth.

Abhimany uwas crying now imagining what Akshara might have gone through.

Dr: this happened because the dose was increased suddenly

Abhimanyu: dr please save my wife. Do whatever you need and I am ready to give anything you want.

Dr:first we need to take her to the OT and till then you arrange blood. She has lost a lot of blood. We will see if can drain the poison out of her body completely.

Akshara(Placing a hand on his shoulder): Abhimanyu you have to look after the family,you can't fall weak.

Abhimanyu: but that is your job. I am not used to doing such things.

Akshara: I can't be there always.

Abhimanyu: how many times have I told you not to talk about such things?

Neil(shaking Abhimanyu a bit): bhai what are you murmuring?

Abhimanyu shouts Akshara and realizes it was his dream.

Neil: bhai she is in the OT and I have arranged the blood as well.

Abhimanyu: Neil you take maa and Anisha home. I am here only.

Neil:but how will you manage alone.

Abhimanyu: I am not alone, your bhabhi is with me. You go and take care of Nimisha else Akshara will be upset with you.

Neil: ok bhai. But if there is any problem or you need anything, do give me a call.

It's been almost 5 hours since the operation started. Abhimanyu thinks how she was not being herself the day he left. He regrets why he didn't push her for an answer when he asked if everything was ok. After some time doctor comes out.

Dr: Mr. Birla we have drained the poison. But due blood loss she is extremely weak.

Abhimanyu: Can I meet her.

Dr: we are shifting her to the ICU. Then after that you can.

Abhimanyu(on phone): Maa Operation is done. I haven't met her yet but please pray for her.

Manjari: she will be fine. Her Lord Krishna is with her and nothing can go wrong with her.

Abhimanyu(in the temple): you mean a lot to her,please do not take her away from me. Abhi Abhi to mujhe mili hai. Mujhe uske bina rehne ki adat nahi hai.

It's been 4 hrs since he is sitting holding her hand but there is no sign of her gaining consciousness. And with that he falls asleep. Its 1 am when Akshara starts breathing heavily and Abhimanyu wakes up. He rushes to call the doctor.

Dr: nurse put on an oxygen mask. Mr. Birla relax it's a good sign. She is responding to the treatment. I think by tomorrow morning she will be better.

Abhimanyu: but doctor she is again unconscious

Dr: because of exertion else her vitals are coming back to normal.

Abhimanyu: thank you Dr. He puts his hand on her forehead. Please get well soon and kisses her forehead. And with that he sleeps.

Next morning Akshara wakes up and tries to figure out her surroundings. She sees Abhimanyu holding her hand and caresses his hair and he too wakes up.

Abhimanyu: you are awake, I will call the doctor first.

Dr: she is fine now but weak as I had told you due to the blood loss. Mrs. Birla is something bothering you because you are way too stressed.

Akshara: what’s wrong with me dr. I don't remember anything. Last thing that I remember is I had my breakfast and after that my nose started bleeding.

Dr: Mrs. Birla since when did this nose bleeding start.

Akshara: the day you left for Mumbai.

Abhimanyu(angry look to Akshara): dr that's 3 days back

Akshara: Abhimanyu whats wrong with me? Why aren't you saying anything?

Dr: Mr Birla I will be back.

Akshara: Abhimanyu....

Abhimanyu: do I hold any importance in your life? You know how to think about everyone else excluding me. Am I not worth to listen to your problems. Or don't you ever feel that you should speak your heart front of me. Am I a part of your life or not?

Akshara: enough Abhimanyu. Why are you saying such things?

Abhimanyu: what else am I supposed to say Akshara? How many times I asked you over the phone are you okay? Is something bothering you? Did something happen at home?But you never said anything to me.

Akshara: but when nothing had happened, what was I supposed to tell you.

Abhimanyu: whatever you told the doctor right now, was that nothing. Didn't I have the right to know that?

Akshara: I didn’t want to bother you unnecessarily that too when you weren't here.

Abhimanyu: leave it Akshara. Let it be.

Dr: Mr. Birla please don’t stress her out.

Akshara: Dr will you please tell me what’s wrong with me?

Dr:Mrs Birla, somebody has tried to poison you. It seems somebody does not want you to become a mother.

Akshara: what??? What are you trying to say? Are you trying to say that I won't be able to bear my child? She cries profusely.

Abhimanyu: Akshara listen to me. She hugs him tight.

Akshara: i am so sorry Abhi. It’s all my fault. I am so sorry. Maine kitna bada haq cheen liya aapse. Please forgive me. Please. And faints in his arms.

Abhimanyu(patting her cheek): Akshara, Akshara

Dr: Mr. Birla relax she will be fine. Let her rest.

Abhimanyu lays her down and caresses her hair. Meanwhile Neil and Anisha arrive with food.

Anisha: howz Bhabhi?

Abhimanyu: Dr said she is responding to the treatment.

Neil: bhai have something, you haven't had anything since yesterday.

Abhimanyu: no Neil I am not hungry. Now I will have something when your Bhabhi will make it.

Anisha: bhai please, bhabhi won't like it.

Abhimanyu: dont force me Anisha. Tell me how is mom.

Neil:she is worried.

Abhimanyu: I think she will be discharged tomorrow. Ask mom to relax.

In the evening Akshara gains consciousness. Abhimanyu calls out the doctor.

Akshara(crying): Abhimanyu I am so sorry.

Abhimanyu: relax first listen what the doctor has to say. Everything will be fine.

Dr:see Mrs. Birla nothing is confirmed yet. We have run some tests on you and hopefully you will be fine. We think so because that poison had reverse effect on you due to your allergy to sulphur as per our initial findings.

Abhimanyu(wiping her tears): you take rest. Everything will be fine and trust your Kanha Ji Nothing wrong will happen with us. He goes to lie down on the couch near the bed.

Akshara: Abhi please come here.

Abhimanyu sits on the chair and holds her hand. He gets thinking as to who would do this with Akshara. Akshara shifts a bit on her bed making place for him.

Akshara: Abhi please sleep here mujhe bahut darr lag raha hai.

Abhimanyu nods and sleeps by her side. She lifts her head and uses his arm as a pillow and moves closer to him clutching his shirt tight. He wraps his arm around her and caresses her hair with the other hand.

Abhimanyu: Akshara please dont stress yourself.

He kisses her forehead. And she falls asleep. He gets thinking who could do this with her.

Abhimanyu: Akshara I promise you I won't spare that person. Nobody can save him from Abhimanyu Birla's wrath. And with this thought he too sleeps hugging her tight.

Next morning they both wake up.

Abhimanyu:Feeling better? And gets down from the bed making her sit on the bed.

Dr:Mr. Birla you can take her home today.

Akshara(clutching Abhimanyu's hand): dr reports

Dr:Mrs. Birla reports are negative as we had expected.

Akshara: thank you so much doctor and hugs Abhimanyu.

Dr: Mr. Birla you finish the discharge formalities and do take extra care of her. Due to the reaction in her blood she is weak and give her medicine on time for sure.

Abhimanyu: ok Dr. Thank you so much. He kisses Akshara on forehead and leaves.
