Chapter 9

Next morning Nimisha is talking to Neil in their room.

Nimi: I am done with all this Neil and I am going to talk to bhaiya even if he throws me out of this house.

Neil:what are you saying, you know his anger right?

Nimisha: I don't care. Today I will put an end to this because I can't see Di suffering like this. Why would she bare all this?

Anisha: bhabhi is right. Didn’t you see how upset Akshara bhabhi was in the party. I have never seen her this helpless.

Nimisha goes to Abhimanyu's room.

Nimisha: can I come in bhaiya?

Abhimanyu: yes Nimi come in. What happened? You look tensed.

Nimisha: why are you doing all this? Do you like it?

Abhimanyu: what did I do?

Nimisha: as if you don't know a thing.

Neil:stop it Nimisha.

Abhimanyu: let her speak Neil. What do I not know Nimi? What have I done?

Nimisha: do you like it when Di is in pain? Why do you behave with her like this? If you can't keep her happy or you are not happy with her, why don't you just leave her? Maybe somebody else will give her happiness.

Abhimanyu: Enoughhh Nimisha. You are talking too much.

Nimisha: too much?? I haven't started yet bhaiya?

Abhimanyu: I do not want to hear anything. Am I clear?

Anisha: bhai you will have to listen to nimi bhabhi because whatever she is saying is correct.

Abhimanyu: you also Anisha.

Nimisha: Anisha you leave. I will handle this and you shouldn't talk to him like this.He is elder to you.

Anisha: sorry bhaiya and leaves.

Nimisha: didn't me and di come together in this house? Have you ever taken her out even once? I agree me and Neil had a love marriage but you too weren't forced for this marriage. It was done with your permission. Have you ever thought about Di, how would she have felt seeing me and Neil together? Even after this did she ever complain to you about anything or ask you for anything. It seems as if you didn't get yourself a wife but a full time maid. Do you know anything about the problems of this house?

Neil: nimi you are talking too much. Don't say something that you might regret later.

Nimisha: Neil today I have dared to say something and today I won't be silent.

Abhimanyu: what do you mean? Everything was fine at home.

Nimisha: that’s what you think. Because Di never allowed us to say anything to you. She always said that you are way too stressed about your office and she will handle these things.

Abhimanyu: what is she saying Neil? Do you know anything?

Neil bows down his head.

Nimisha: do you know me and Neil were headed for a divorce.

Abhimanyu: what???

Neil:yes bhaiya

Flashback

Manjari: Akshara should we talk to Abhimanyu about Neil and Nimisha.

Akshara: no mom he is already in stress regarding some deal. Now he will listen to all this and get worried. I will talk to Neil.

Neil: bhabhi come inside.

Akshara: where is Nimi?

Nimi: yes di, I am here.

Akshara makes both of them sit together on the bed and herself sits on a chair in front of them and asks them about their problem.

Neil: bhabhi, she thinks I don’t give her much time now post our marriage.

Akshara: that’s it. For this thing you used the word Divorce. Are you guys mad? Is it this easy to end a relationship?

Neil: bhabhi it was just a slip of tongue. Do you think I can live without her?

Akshara: are you listening Nimi? And you say he doesn't love you anymore. Let me tell you something Nimi. Before marriage Neil had no responsibility of the business as Abhimanyu handled everything, so naturally he had more time but post marriage Neil has some responsibilities too. But I will still talk to Abhimanyu and tell him to reduce his workload.

Neil& Nimisha: no

Akshara: what happened?

Nimisha(hugging her): sorry, I was acting selfish. How will bhaiya handle everything alone?

Neil:do not say anything to bhai.

Akshara: ok. Is everything fine in office Neil, he is too stressed these days.

Flashback Ends.

Abhimanyu: but I never told her that I am stressed or anything.

Neil:this is the time when we were having a deal with Oberois.

Nimisha: this is the problem bhaiya. Di can read your face. She is so understanding. I have known Neil from before our marriage but still I do not understand him as much as Di understands you. But it doesn't matter to you. Did you ever try to find out what she wants?

Neil: nimi enough now let's go.

Nimisha: wait Neil. I am not done yet. Bhaiya don't think that Di asked me to tell you all this. She never lets anyone of us say a word against you and nor does she say anything. How many times mom told her that she will talk to you but she never agreed. She always had this hope that you will change but she was wrong.

Neil: nimisha lets go. Now bhai will decide what he has to do because if after all this he can't understand anything then it’s his loss. Bhai I will say only one thing that not everyone is lucky to get a wife like bhabhi. And they leave.

In the office Abhimanyu gets thinking whatsoever nimisha had told him. He thinks he is happy with Akshara then why can't people see it. He panics thinking about if she leaves him. His trance is broken by a knock on his door.

Assistant: sir a girl is outside who is requesting to meet you. She is very worried.

Abhimanyu: ok send her in.

Girl: good afternoon sir. Sir I need your help.Please help me (holds Abhimanyu's hand). I need a job, I have to get my mother treated. Please check my certificates.

Abhimanyu(withdrawing his hand): please sit down first.

Girl:no sir I am fine. Please check this file.

She trips and falls on Abhimanyu and he prevents her from falling down. He straightens her and takes her file.

Abhimanyu: I will forward this file to my HR manager and you will be contacted as and when we have a vacancy.

Girl: thankyou so much sir (while holding his hand).

On the other side Pooja calls Akshara

Pooja: congratulations babe

Akshara: what for?

Pooja: Arre duffer your result is out. Now you are Dr. Akshara Abhimanyu Birla.

Akshara: really? Thank you so much. Ok I will tell everyone now.

She informs her family that her result is out and her PhD. is done. They congratulate her and her mother asks her to inform her MIL.

Akshara: Hello maa, how are you and everyone else?

Manjari: everyone is fine. Are you fine? You sound extremely happy.

Just then Abhimanyu and Neil arrive.

Akshara: yes maa. I am very happy but first you put the phone on speaker and call everyone but Neil would still be in office.

Neil: bhabhi we are here only. Anisha, Nimi come fast bhabhi is calling. Bhai you also come.

Akshara: everyone has come?

Anisha: yes bhabhi. Now tell us what is it?

Akshara: my result has been declared and my PhD has been awarded to me.

Anisha and Nimisha: yayyy congratulations.

Manjari: congratulations beta.

Anisha: so now you are officially Dr. Akshara Abhimanyu Birla and not Akshara Goenka.

Abhimanyu didn’t know but he felt proud on listening Dr. Akshara Abhimanyu Birla.

Neil: bhabhi come back now. We will have a party.

Akshara: yes definitely.

Birla House

All are having dinner. They hear some noises from the Hall.

Manjari: whats this noise?

Abhimanyu: come let’s see.

It's a group of women, a girl and some people. The women are shouting and badmouthing Abhimanyu. The whole family is shocked.

Abhimanyu: what nonsense is this? Who are you?

Woman:we are from an NGO and this girl has accused you of molestation.

Abhimanyu(looking at the girl): you had come to my office today.

Manjari: you know her Abhimanyu?

Abhimanyu: yes maa. She had come to me asking for a job.

Woman:its good at least you recognized her Mr. Birla.

Abhimanyu: are you out of your mind? Anyone will say anything and you will come to my house and create a ruckus?

Woman:we do not come to influential people like you without any proof and the girl throws photos on his face.

On the other hand Pooja calls Akshara.

Pooja: Akshara turn on the TV and switch to XYZ news channel.

Akshara(while turning on the TV): what happened? All ok.

Pooja: you see it yourself and disconnects the call.

Akshara sees the news and is shocked to read the Headline "Real face of Abhimanyu Birla" followed by display of pictures where Abhimanyu is shown holding her hands. In another picture she is seen in Abhimanyu's lap. Tears flow from her eyes and she leaves on her scooty in hurry.

Aarohi: didi where are you going and she sees the news on TV. She tries calling Akshara but she does not receive.

After sometime she calls Abhimanyu.

Aarohi: hello jiju, is di at your place.

Abhimanyu(trying to act normal) no Aarohi.

Aarohi: actually she saw the news and left on her scooty so I thought she might have come there.

Abhimanyu: ok I will see.

Abhimanyu is heartbroken as he thinks Akshara has believed the news. After some time Akshara enters Birla House

Akshara: shut up and you have said enough. She comes and slaps the girl. How dare you accuse Mr. Birla of such a grave mistake?

Abhimanyu is shocked.

Woman: who are you and what are you doing here? I hope you are not one of the mistresses of Abhimanyu Birla and he has asked you to come here defend him.

Abhimanyu(clenching his fist): shut up. Just shut up. Do you know who you are talking to...

Akshara(interrupting him): wait let me talk. She collects all the photos from the floor and asks them that on the basis of these photos you are accusing him.

Media People: leave all this. First tell us who are you.

Akshara: how does it matter who I am? I am here to disclose the truth and that’s more important.

She hands a CD to Neil and he plays it. It's the CCTV footage of Abhimanyu's cabin.It shows how the girl twisted her foot and fell on Abhimanyu and that’s when the picture was clicked. How she held his hand deliberately and how he was uncomfortable. Everyone understood what the girl had done. Everybody left.

Akshara: wait. She takes the photographs tears them to pieces and throws it on the face of the girl. Don’t ever think of doing such a thing with Mr. Birla again. And you people, whatever you see is not the truth always. You do not think twice before maligning someone's image. They say sorry and leave.

Abhimanyu’s heart swells with pride. He smiles to himself.

Manjari: Akshara come here, sit.

Nimisha: bhabhi how did you get to know all this?

Akshara: when I saw the news, I understood that it was all a lie and somebody had plotted against him. Since all this happened in the office so I went there. But I wasn't allowed to enter as they didn’t know me. So I called Neil and we checked the CCTV footage and the rest is known to you.

Manjari(kissing her forehead): very good. Now go and rest. It’s late.

Akshara: no maa I will go back. They will be waiting for me.

Manjari: ok. Abhimanyu drop her home.

Akshara: its ok maa. I have my scooty. I will manage.

Akshara hugs her MIL and leaves. Abhimanyu goes to his room. Even after such a huge drama he was happy but he didn't know the reason. On the other hand Akshara too was content she remembered his smiling face when the media people left. They both slept with a smile.

Chapter 10

That trust is the basis of relationship... Abhimanyu will realise his love for Akshara

Despite all this Akshara haves blind faith in abhi, i hope he realises her worth. And tbh i love jealous abhi sooo much, i hope he makes a return. 😎

Showing both got married together.......inspite of Neil giving time is not enough for Nimisha and here no time from Abhi for Akshara but she still try to find peace with just his presence.........

Chapter 10

Next morning Abhimanyu wakes up determined to mend his relation with Akshara. He goes down and takes blessing from his mother.

Manjari: do you have some important meeting that you are taking my blessings?

Abhimanyu: I have to go for some important work that's why.

Nimi: bhaiya I am extremely sorry for yesterday because I was very rude with you but whatever I said is true.

Abhimanyu: I will respond to this once I am back Nimisha. And leaves.

In the office Abhimanyu is attending a meeting. After it finishes he thinks to call Akshara but then he remembers how she had hung up on him the other day when maa forced them to talk.

Abhimanyu’s Conscience: you have done the same with her. You have ignored her royally in this one year. Do you realize now how she would have felt? And vanishes.

Abhimanyu thinks should he call her not. But then realizes she doesn't want to see his face and asks himself had he tortured her to this extent. But then still goes ahead and calls her.

On the other hand Akshara and Aarohi are talking and Aarohi starts tickling her.

Akshara: please yaar Aarohi don't do this. You know I can't control laughing then.

She is shouting at Aarohi and pleading her to stop while continuously laughing. In between, her phone starts ringing and it's Abhimanyu but she couldn't see it and since they were tickling each other the phone was received by mistake.

Abhimanyu: hello

On the other side Akshara is now crying after Aarohi tickled her continuously. But Abhimanyu thought she was shouting.

Abhimanyu: Akshara are you fine? Please answer me dammit.

And Akshara falls on bed and phone falls from her hand. And it's switched off. This panics Abhimanyu more and he heads to his sasuraal. Throughout the drive he is sweating and praying nothing bad should happen. He enters Goenka house.

Swarna: arrre Abhimanyu beta, come sit.

He doesn't respond to her and runs to look for Akshara. As he is moving he hears laughter from a room and barges into the room. He sees Akshara is holding Aarohi and tickling her. He heaves a sigh of relief.

Aarohi: di please stop. I promise i will never tickle you after this.

They hear the door opening and both are shocked to see Abhimanyu standing. Akshara notices tears in his eyes. Aarohi senses something is not right and she gets up and leaves the room. The moment Aarohi leaves Abhimanyu heads towards Akshara and hugs her tight as though if he would leave her he will die. Akshara is shocked and rooted to her spot. After some time she senses something is seriously wrong because the rock solid Abhimanyu Birla had tears in his eyes.She gets worried and holds him and shakes him.

Akshara: whats wrong? Is mom fine? Anisha? Is there something wrong? Why aren't you replying? I am getting worried.

Abhimanyu(putting a finger on her lips): shut up, just shut up. Are you out of your mind? Who behaves like this? I was dead afraid.

Akshara(touching his forehead): do you have fever? What did I do? Why are you lecturing me like this? I haven't talked to you since 4 days so what exactly did I do.

Abhimanyu(holding her elbow): who behaves like this on a phone call? When you receive a phone you are supposed to talk not shout like a maniac and scare the hell out of the other person.

Akshara(totally frustrated): who called and when.

Abhimanyu asks her to switch on her phone. She does and he shows her the call log.

Akshara: I didn't realize when I received it (biting her tongue).

Abhimanyu hugs her again and this time she too reciprocates as she realizes he is actually shaking. She calms him down and makes him sit and drink water. After some time Abhimanyu stands up and bolts the door.

Akshara: what are you exactly doing?

He comes and holds her both hands and makes her sit on the bed. He himself sits on the floor in front of her still holding hands.

Akshara: why are you sitting on the floor? Please get up.

Abhimanyu: shhhhh. Today I will speak and you will just listen.

Akshara: but...

Abhimanyu: you won't say a word. Do you get it?

Akshara: hmmmm.

Abhimanyu: I am sorry for everything that I did with you but I shouldn't have done. I am sorry that I am dumb and never understood you. I didn’t understand when you got to know me more than myself. I didn't understand how you got to care about my each need and everything without me asking you to. (Now in tears). I am so stupid that I didn't realize that since the day you have stepped inside my house, I have not known about a single problem in my house as you single handedly managed everything.

Akshara(trying to wipe his tears): please stop now.

Abhimanyu: I know seeing me like this is hurting you but I guess I deserve it. Akshara don't stop me today, let me talk. Today I pity myself when I see what all I have done in the past year with you. I am so sorry. I couldn't give you even a tinge of happiness. Even after all things you didn't leave my side. I don’t think I deserve you that’s why you weren't here when I came for dinner. You do not want see my face. In Pooja's engagement also I hurt you a lot. I am very sorry.I think it’s better for you to leave me.

Akshara(with teary eyes): enough now. What do you think of yourself? You are always ready to give a decision. How dare you say that I should leave? If you want this then stand up and leave. Why are you sitting here?

Abhimanyu(puts his head in her lap and cried silent tears): I am sorry. The mere thought of you leaving me gives me goosebumps. I feel like a stranger in my own room since you have left. I have missed you a lot. I didn't realize when you became my necessity and a necessity without which I would eventually die.

Akshara(putting her hand on his head): I too missed you a lot.

She puts her head on his head and they both shed tears.

Abhimanyu(wiping her tears): that’s its Akshara. Now no more tears. I Abhimanyu Birla promises you that I won't let a single drop of tear fall from your eyes.

Akshara(wiping his tears): thank you so much. Today I feel whatever I did was not wasted. You saw everything but you just couldn't express. Ok now stand up.Enough of this crying. The Abhimanyu Birla doesn't look good when crying. He only looks good in his attitude and swag.

They both are standing now and Abhimanyu hugs her laughing at her last statement.She too reciprocates.

Abhimanyu(still hugging): now you see Mrs. Akshara Abhimanyu Birla I will make up for every memory with you that we lost in this one year because of me.

Akshara: you have said all this, it’s enough for me. BTW if I would have known that you would react like this if something happened to me, I would have even died to see this side of yours.

Abhimanyu(putting his hand on her mouth): you have said this today, do not say it ever again. From today onwards we will start a new life. Are you ready Mrs. Birla?

Akshara: of course Mr. Birla. I have to tell you one more thing. I behaved very rudely with you on our anniversary. I know you would have been hurt and I wasn't home when you came for dinner because I did not want to have a fight with you.

Abhimanyu: if you wouldn't have done all that, how would I have realized what all I was missing?And I wouldn't have found out that my wife is lioness. Now can we go home?

Akshara: sure. One more thing where is your tie? I mean you don't go to office like this.

Abhimanyu: actually, I...I...

Akshara: what????

Abhimanyu: truth be told I didn't want to. I am not used to wearing it on my own. And smiles.

Akshara: papa we will leave now.

Manish: have dinner first. The other day also you weren't here when Abhimanyu came.

After that they leave and reach Birla house. They all sit in the hall.

Abhimanyu: thankyou Nimisha for whatever you said yesterday and you don't have to feel sorry for it.

He smiles and goes back to his room. Everyone is happy seeing Akshara back. It's been half an hour since they are home and Abhimanyu is pacing back and forth in his room but there is no sign of her. She is sitting in the Hall and they are not leaving her. She too wants to be with him but can't say no to her family.After two minutes Anisha comes running to his room.

Anisha: bhaiya come fast bhabhi just fainted.

He rushes downstairs like a maniac and sees Akshara is fine and it's nimi who has fainted. He lets out his breath which he had held since long.

Akshara: call the doctor.

Abhimanyu: Dr. I am calling from Birla house please come fast.

Doctor arrives and checks Nimisha. She congratulates them and announces that she is pregnant. Everyone is super elated. Abhimanyu hugs Neil. Akshara hugs Nimisha and all congratulate them.

Akshara: maa i was thinking Nimi and Neil should shift downstairs so that she doesn't have to up move up and down much.

Manjari: you are right Akshara.

Abhimanyu feels proud of Akshara and smiles to himself. Everyone goes to their room. Akshara changes and is sitting on the bed.

Akshara: tell me one thing why were you smiling downstairs.

Abhimanyu: just like that. Thank you for everything, for handling my family so well. And sorry again (bowing his head down).

Akshara: it’s ok. Now no sorries please and why were you thanking Nimi.

Abhimanyu tells her everything that happened yesterday and tells her how much they love her. And they sleep on their respective sides but now facing each other and not away from each other.
